Nope, fastboot runs fine, sends the Radio.img just fine but the phone refuses to then install it. All other img work OK (boot, recovery etc). I'm still guessing we need Eng S-Off for radio.

Boy have HTC locked the HW down, I came from an HD2 and there was non of this needed!

Reading around on that error looks like we do need ENG S-OFF.

Seems that we may need engineering s-off to flash the radio. I believe you are correct.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that to flash through fastboot you have to be ENG, i thought you can only flash radio through PH39IMG.zip method with SHIP. Also please excuse me if this is a dumb question, but before doing this do you need to have already unlocked the bootloader from htcdev or can I do this without that process?

Edit: Found my answer, just in case anybody else can't find it, yes you do have to have htcdev unlock

Quick question, does the S-Off tool use fastboot commands? Also, does it do it automatically or do we have to manually enter them?

I remember everybody in the Inspire section saying we needed ENG S-OFF to flash radios but I did it through HBOOT with regular S-OFF. I can't remember what exactly you had to do though...But I DID flash a radio without ENG S-OFF on the Inspire.

You had to put the radio.img in the PHXXX.zip and flash it thru hboot

Worth a try but no luck, same result with SuperCID.

I'd had already tried simply putting the desired radio.img into a PH39IMG.zip and while it did seem to do something during HBoot, the radio was not flashed. I presume other files are needed as is see there is a singed by file in the orginal PH39IMG.ZIP file. I also tried the same idea putting the radio in teh firmware.zip --> other zip like with the OTA files but you get a no "script error".

Exact same here - just ran through controlbear and successfully got s-off first try, now have hboot 1.85.2121. Thank you so much to all the people who got this working, you all rock!

Guys is there any way to back off, from this S-off thing. I have tried multiple times following instructions, but no luck. I want to give up this s-off thing. but every time I restart the phone I see the juonopunter logo and my phone is stuck there. does this mean that my phone is bricked ? Please advise.

<Moderator Edit>: Non-working links removed. Also, primary support must be done on XDA if you're going to post an XDA Development thread. @Fuses, Report this OP if you want us to unlock the thread so that you can fix it.

    Instructions and Downloads:

    Support:

We DO NOT provide support, instructions, or downloads via XDA. Please see our website:

Using how-to guides, "kits" and using other instructions on XDA to S-OFF your device is not recommended and will not be supported by Team Unlimited. If you want the best experience and results - go direct to the source. Dealing with support issues through the forums is inefficient and posts may get lost in long support threads, of which we would have too many to actively monitor. We have therefore decided that all support should be through our IRC channel. This will allow us to help you in real-time and through the whole process.

I would just like to reconfirm what was said in the previous post. Please avoid speculating and commenting if at all possible. We will update the first post with progress and/or calls for testers as required. But I will state a couple of things up front.

    • Don't ask for an ETA, we will release when we are happy it is ready (and safe)
    • Dont ask for the method or code, we will not release that until HTC blocks the exploit.
    • Don't if it is your intention to donate, do not do so before release.
    • Don't PM us asking for additional progress/status or information we will keep the threads updated with what information we are willing to release.

It works on all 8660 chipsets I believe..they figured out some kinda exploit to acheive true s-off..and now everyone (myself included) is like..tweaked waiting for them to release it to us to play with. Patience..it will come. Ours is not to question timeframes or ETAs. Just be grateful, and be happy someone took the time to figure it out.

I created a thread in general for any s-off discussion. We should respect the devs request to leave this thread clear of chatter.
