By default, you're phone won't use 192mhz. You need to set the minimum processor speed in System Tuner or SetCPU to do it.

Most phones handle it fine, though. Mine's been running at 192 minimum for a month now (on GB, CM9 and stock ICS with this kernel) with no problems. Interestingly, my phone spends a substantial amount of time at 192 even in use - if I stop typing this post, for example, after about 2 seconds it'll scale back to 192 until something happens.

Wasn't trying to be sarcastic. You are in an android original development thread. Obviously if you've been reading you would know that - that post just came out. If you want to know so bad before results are posted, then I suggest you flash away and post back here with your results. Kinda how it works.

Not to sound like a **** but why wouldn't it be legit? It's an actual download.
Not sure what's been updated but it's an update, and yes posted by hotwire

Funny thing. The XDA app is very crashy for me. Nothing else is, though - in fact, the XDA app is the only one I've ever seen force close on my phone period, and I don't even use it often.

Anyways, after it closes, my phone won't use the second core at all anymore until I either monkey with the maximum clock speed in super tuner or reboot.

So, I'd ask: if you use CPU Usage Monitor (to see what your two CPU cores are doing while running other apps) will it use both cores when you first boot up? Keep in mind, the second core will only come online when your primary core is maxed out so the more you overclock, the less frequently it'll come online. Watching the two cores when you run a benchmark should work.

Undervolting

I have a strange issue with this kernel. I have set cpu but i dont see a voltage tab. I can undervolt. Am i doing something wrong. I've searched this thread but seems nobody else is having this issue.(As far as i saw).
Im on king kangs lf6 rom.

Try with System Tuner. I've never used SetCPU, but wasn't aware you could undervolt with it at all.

Thanks. It looks like you can under-volt with system tuner. Its strange that you cant with set cpu. OP states in the first post that voltage control is available.

    Kernel Samepage Merging. In layman's terms it combines duplicate chunks of memory freeing up space for even more stuff to be loaded in RAM. To try it out, open a terminal and run:
    Code: 
    echo 1 > /sys/kernel/mm/ksm/run
    After some time the kernel will check memory pages that have been marked as merge-able and do it's thing. See /sys/kernel/mm/ksm/pages_* files for stats.

    Voltage control is not (currently) in CM9. I will be "working on it soon"(tm), in the meantime try one of these 3rd party apps: Antutu CPU Master, SetCPU

    This necessary for stock, and possibly some AOSP roms. I will be including a fixed liblights in the next update.
    To take advantage of BLN, you'll need to install an app (unless you're on my CM9, it's built-in - Settings->Advanced->Sensors).

    Sounds like FJ_mod is not reading the settings directly from the kernel, but instead always using values internal to FJ_mod which end up blowing away your settings on wakeup :(. I'm sure he will update FJ_mod soon to fix the issue.

Go into root explorer and browse to system/xbin and find the andrev oc file and rename it to andrev oc.bak then set a CPU profile with which ever app you are using and reboot. I'm using system tuner to both overclock and undervolt. This is working for me so far. You can check by going into settings ans clicking on CPU tweak. If it force closes then its disabled. I was checking logcats and it is no longer changing the CPU back to default settings on screen lock. Flap feel free to chime in if this is gonna break something else. Other wise no issues yet.

    This is a kernel update only. You will need a 3rd party app to manage the settings and make sure it has the option to "apply settings on reboot".

    I will personally look into every problem if I can. I hope everyone here can see the benefits (both to you and me) of having a dedicated issue tracker where anyone can collaborate and get definitive status updates.

    Developing, collaborating, debugging, building, and distributing all while sifting through hundreds (or thousands in the case of the CM9 kang) of posts does not scale :mad: Ultimately it makes for a shoddy software product, terrible customer (ie. you) experience, and burnt out developers.

    How many times have you seen a thread with repost after repost after repost? (the cm9 kang thread was stupid long) :crying:

    On a personal note. I hope nobody takes this as me saying XDA sucks, because it just doesn't - but there are better tools for the job. Under normal circumstances I could keep doing the XDA distribution / support thing, but right now I am going through some serious legal battles. Which is probably why I reacted so rashly to the legalistic demands from the moderator.

    Enjoy the kernels, and look for something that starts with a J soon!
