This is not the correct thread but I'll answer your question.

With 576MB unlocked, you will see about 450MB of ram in system info. With 448MB limited (original radio) you will see around 340MB ram usable. So you have no problem. You state that you had around 400mb ram with previous radio. That means it was already 576MB with the previous radio. Nothing changed. As long as you see 400+MB memory you have unlocked 576MB.
By the way radio update is not enough normally. Radio update + proper rom is needed for 576MB. As far as I know, US roms and custom roms with some us rom files enable 576MB ram with any 50 series radio.

What have people noticed with the latest zimage file made on the 25th? anyone notice any speed improvements or battery improvements?

can't tell any difference to be honest vs the 23rd zimage... this is on dan's vanilla froyo 1.0 build running on miri 17.6 and 2.09 radio. supposed to have better battery life though, but can't tell atm.

Have had the dreaded screen-not-wake-when-press-button exactly once but that's it.

Few newb questions if i get warned im sorry.

Ok had a few newb questions i couldn't really find after /search.

1) Congrats to devs on this you guys are damn genius's keep up the good work and once i get some money ill definitely donate.

2) Once the android build has been ported so that everything works would one need to switch there t-mobile (im tmobile usa customer) internet package to android package? I ask this in regards to the app downloading.

3) When android is working completely on the HD2 do you guys think that HTC may fold in and just release hd2's with android or a patch / fix to allow installation of android through them? I ask the prior question because I feel that it would be a sort of blow to HTC to show them that the mobile phone community will overcome w/e obstacles thrown @ us if a great piece of hardware has an unwanted (by most) piece of software.

once again mods please forgive me if these questions were answered but i didnt even find them asked anywhere. thanks dev's like I said once i get some money ill send a round of beer on me.

anyone know what is the best way of removing an android version without formatting the sd card or doing any hard reset on the phone so that we can put another version of android on the sd card?

-camera flash pictures come out overexposed (white) (dans froyo sense rc1 has proper exposure with flash)
-camcorder and turning on flash led doesn't work. (dans froyo sense rc1 can turn on camera flash constantly)
-frequent network error occured retry
with 3g (also happens with dans froyo sense rc1)
-have dans froyo without sense v1 level flash performance. (about %10 slower flash than dans never builds, but 2.5x faster than eclair builds.)

Oh man, every build has cons and pros. There still is no all in one build. Some have camcorder/flash working, some have title bar hidden with browser, some are fast, some have usb storage working, some have root, some have more reliable 3g data.
Currently it seems, if you select some build, then you have to give up some functions.
Given what is currently available, the best build would have:
-froyo
-camcorder flash
-camera with proper exposure
-hidden title bar with browser
-high adobe flash and javascript performance
-working usb storage
-root
-reliable 3g data
-smooth app drawer animation
(This list is not meant for darkstones build but all working functions with all builds in total)

I was hopeful, darkstones froyo would be like that, but not yet. Still, good work.
But I think it is not correct to say that basically everything works. This build is still missing functions that other builds have. (I have stated above)

If you're unhappy with what you have now, then make your own build if you think it's easy enough.

You know, making a build isn't easy. Don't expect EVERYTHING to work, this is still a WIP. You must always keep this in mind or else you WILL be disappointed. And no, bugging devs for features isn't going to help.

Anyway, if you actually checked my site, you would see me mention that camcorder isn't working (and I gave some advice about that)
Photo's do not come over exposed to me, I don't know why this happens to you.
3G is the same, I have no issue with 3g, are you sure you put in the right settings?
Root is enabled (check readme)
USB Storage works
Flash is not my highest concern, my concern is making a STABLE build, not the one with the latest features.

I hope everyone understands that.

With all of us using these Androids builds. I got to thinking. Is there anyway of T-Mobile knowing that we are using Android instead of WM? I'm aware that its rooted in the sd card, but still wonder. Also I've re-downloaded a app that I used when I had my G1, its called Sportstap. It gives me live notifications of all the baseball scores. I'm hoping that does not go against my text messages, only have 500. I know when I had the Android package before it did not go against my total amount. Anyone know about this?

I am having only one problem with the new Darkstone Froyo build. It does not want to work with my Wifi. Data works fine and I'm getting 3G but it won't obtain an IP address from my router... any ideas?

    Introduction:
    To run any Linux based user space on a device -this includes android, debian, ubuntu, openembedded, etc- you need a working Linux kernel.
    This thread discusses the development on Linux kernel and user space on the HTC HD2.
    All android ports to windows phones are based on the efforts of porting the Linux kernel to these devices. This is what all the porting is about. Nobody is porting Google Android to these phones. It works already.

    Contributing:
    This is not a secret club. All source code and development information is publicly available. Everybody who is willing to contribute is free to join the development process.

    You can donate to the developers putting a lot of time into this Linux kernel port.

Markinus started the initiative by introducing our present HD2 specific changes in the EVO4G release kernel source code. Right now the htc-msm-2.6.32 branch is still more advanced.     Builds

    Global notes:
    *None of the current releases will touch your internal flash. After restart you are back in the usual winmo.
    *When Linux is booted, windoes mobile is shutdown abruptly. Although this is very rare it can cause some data loss. Please save your work and make frequent backups!
    *You need at least a 2.08 radio rom version installed on your HD2. If yu have an older version you might not be able to boot Linux.

    Most recent zImage (Linux kernel image)
    zImage-htcleo-latest
    The Linux kernel is the core element of your operating system. It contains most of the drivers. It is supplied in form of a compressed (gzipped) executable binary Image. Along with an initial rootfilesystem aka initrd it is loaded into memory and executed by the bootlaoder HaRET.

    Most recent Linux kernel modules to match zImage-htcleo-latest (has bcm4329.ko)
    modules-htcleo-latest.tgz
    Kernel modules are drivers that are not included in the zImage. They go seperately in .ko files. bcm4329.ko holds the wifi driver and tun.ko is needed for tunneling. For android use you must extract the modules.tgz file, search for the .ko files you need and copy them into /system/lib/modules/ directory. See FAQ for how to copy files into your android install.

    HaRET (bootloader)
    HaRET.exe
    The haret bootloader is used to start Linux according to the instructions it reads from the file default.txt . If HaRET sees a file called startup.txt it will use this instead and boot Linux directly without any prompt.

    Hi I hope that no one hates me for posting the same question again but I noticed for cotulla there is a patch and I have downloaded it. The only thing is I am not sure how to install the patch. Does anyone have any idea how? I put it in the root directory but noticed no change.

    Is there a certain program or folder that I should move the patch into? Any help would be great thanks. :D
