it f*uked my phone up, I may now have a bricked phone. I shouldve read others comments on that link before doing it, lots of others had the same problem.
I flashed he radio, rebooted the phone, and he signal indicator was the little round circle with a line through it, and it said no sim was installed, in phone dtails it didnt show imei, baseband, nothing everything was blank....again same issue others reported.
So I reset the phone back to new, and still had the same problem as obviously reset the phone doesnt install the the original radio.....so I went in CWM and I think, I cant recall, but I believ I clicked "reformat system" and "reformat data", so when I boot the phone it goes to the Samsung logo and stays there.....any idea of this means I bricked it, or I removed the operating system?
Is there a way to tell? If I just reformatted it, where can I find the files to get android back on my phone,it previosuly had 4.0.4
I seriously need help, I rely on my phone for work, and due to this I have been out of work for 2 days and this is getting me in trouble.
If you formatted system you "deleted" your Rom, not bricked, just have to find your stock files and reinstall....
When I bought my note is was still gingerbread I believe, I dont know mcuh about these things, but it had an OTA to 4.0.4.
If your phone is bricked are you still able to go into CWM or not sure what the other one is when you hold the volume down? Because I can still access those.
My Note is an ATT I717, but I had it rooted, and unlocked, and was now on tmobile and changing over radios, and hacking it to be able to tehter, until now this happened,....so seeing as this happened, can I now install 4.0.4 back or a newer version of Android?
Also, since I may have formatted system "and" data, is there anything lse other than Android that I need to reinstall?
Where can I find these files, I am googleing and searching like crazy but having a hard time locating the proper files.
I want to make my phone now all tmobile if that helps.
Thanks for any help you an offer.

by the way even though im going to tmobile, do i need to reinstall ATT stock files, or seeing as i now formatted system and data, can i just go ahead and install tmobile stock files?
Just a point I would like to make. If you connect to the TMO network their engineers can use packet sniffers to see what you are downloading and if you are using your android device as a hotspot they can determine that too LOL. Are they? Who knows but the ability is there.
These threads are too funny!

I think T-mobile is breaking the law by trying to restrict how we use our data. Doing so was expressly banned by the federal government last time they auctioned off spectrum...

Could you please be more specific on how you set up Wifi Tether? not a single device in my house seeing it!
shnn2011 ..
Many people have reported to me that their tethering no longer works even after killing the tethering manager.
Many have asked me to look into this, here are my findings..
It seems that T-Mobile has implemented a new hidden APN in their ROMs. When you activate tethering, your connected devices seem to be routed through a different APN than your phone uses which is where the block is, if you have not paid the tax.The answer:A. For users:Create a new APN name called "Tethering" and copy the information from your T-Mobile APN to it. There is no need to activate this APN. Immediately after doing so you should regain your full connection. Tested on a SGH-T989 (T-Mobile SGS 2) and reported to work.*B. Mostly for ROM authors:Edit the appropriate configuration files and change all APNs (usually "epc.pcweb.com") to "epc.tmobile.com" or any other working APN such as MVNO APNs ("simple" . . .)All test reports submitted to me report this is working and that my theory was accurate.

Modify your customer.xml and feature.xml
delete this line from feature.xml (this hides the APNs from view)
<CscFeature_Setting_HideApnList>pcweb.tmobile.co m</CscFeature_Setting_HideApnList>
change customer.xml as above.
My testing says at first boot these are hard coded to the system. I'm not able to get settings to stick post boot. Change these before flashing your rom and it should be permanent.
This changes routing overall, its permanent and even though you get an error in settings works fine if you toggle from the taskbar.
.I am an unlimited 4G subscriber and I got tethering to work on v36.
I used the APN settings referenced here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=32763688&postcount=1875
And saved the new APN. When you save the APN, the other necessary info is populated in the newly-created APN. Then, I went back into my new APN and added ",dun" to the end of the APN Type section. I then saved the APN again, selected it, and rebooted. Once the phone booted back up, I started tethering via the toggle and it worked. I'm currently watching Netflix on the Xbox and typing this on my laptop using tethering
confirmed !! it works on my note 2 on t mobile thank u !!!!! :good:
I just don't understand how this mod works flawlessly for some and not at all for others,
