I see its OC to 1500. What would be the impact on battery ... ?

Try for yourself , nobody here can tell you HOW over clocking would affect battery. We can only say that the battery would be drained a little bit more..

v4.3

I was on v4.2 and I've update to v4.3 without doing a full wipe (data) and everything it's just smooth beyond comprehension lol

I repeat. There is NO need to do a full data wipe / factory reset.

All I did was wipe cache / wipe dalvik and I'm doing the happy dance now :D

Thanks for the tremendous rom :good:

Yes can confirm works with cache/ wipe dalvik. However now have both bars back again despite picking tablet ui at install.

I did a full wipe ,this update actually made smooth ROM better. Nice. Everything works fine. Titanium recovered all my APS and music. I'm rock in and Rollin. Using brinked kernel at 1.4. Too scared to run 1.5 lol

I get same error as 4.2:

"Processing boot.img of ROM smoothROM .."
"Extracting boot.img from ZIP file..."
"boot.img not found in the root of ZIP file!"
"Erasing incomplete ROM..."

:(:crying::(:crying::(:crying:

Hi,

It is because you're trying to install using MultiROM recovery. You got to option : 1. Install normal recovery 2. Try to add a boot.img in the root of the zip. (For exemple take the Stock kernel in the zip from extra/kernel/stock :)

So, unfortunately the status bar is still looking too thick for me on 4.3 tablet UI. Attached is my framework-res.apk which modifies the height from 56dip to 38 dip.
Looks like the framework-res has been modified and preious I used in 4.2 result in bootloop, I guess this will be useful :)

Use it at your own risk. Not responsible if it bricks ur N7 or del all ur gf's photos.

Tell me it is not the old framework-res.apk from SmoothROM v4.2

In the screenshot you posted in your op, the IO performance looks great. I've tried this great ROM with all kernels and each one never come close to the numbers in your screenshot. My IO always stays below 3200 regardless of any level of overclock.

What is your secret? Any fine tuning after you flash?

    Installation

If CWM ask you to 'Disable Recovery Flash' after install, select no ! It will remove the files needed for the init.d support.

Please do not restore a 'system' data backup as it would overwritte some important files

    Easy Way

    • Use JROMFlasher (Click here) to wipe your data, flash custom recovery, upload my ROM

    Hard Way

    • Require Custom Recovery
    • Copy the ROM to the root of your SDCard (/sdcard).
      - You can copy/paste it from Windows Explorer.
      - You can download the ROM from your device. It will be generally located in /sdcard/downloads
      - You can use ADB : 'adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/' for Windows and Mac/Linux : './adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/'
    • Boot into Recovery
    • Wipe all cache and userdata
    • Flash the ROM from custom Recovery

SmoothROM v5.3 is under its way with Android 4.3 AOKP!
I have been working on it secretly since a while now! It works pretty flawless to me as today! :) There are very few bugs that should be fixed soon. I am not done merging SmoothdROM v5.2 optimisations and I also found new optimisations that could be done including a huge one :)

No ETA yet but keep in mind I am working on it!
