Is there away to get vmm.apk (visual voicemail app from at&t) to install on this ROM? When I try it just says unsuccessful and putting it in system/apk does nothing.

Prob a dumb question... What exactly does that mean? I installed the ROM from the usbStorage folder on the phone, I haven't noticed anything wrong. Should it have been put on the external sdcard? Thanks.

Fwiw I've always installed the rom from within a subdirectory. And I've never noticed any troubles during installation or otherwise.

New to this ROM. About 10 hours. Loving it so far. Sssooo snappy. Insane. Letting everything settle for a few days before I jump on the "battery sucks" bandwagon (I kid, I kid). Using flags during installation was a nice change of pace. I thought -twmod made the entire screen 5x4 and not just the bottom row. But oh well. Not the end of the world. Great work, TDJ!

Just installed the ROM. Seems snappy so far. Used -wipe, installer said I selected it, and when I rebooted the phone... I couldn't even tell at first that I had installed a different ROM.

So it seems that nothing actually wiped (I didn't do any prior wipe because the ROM was supposed to do it). Which, if it keeps working as it should, I'm perfectly happy with. Since all my apps, settings, layout, etc... all there. I guess we'll see what happens... lol.

probably an error in your filename. -wipe always works...

Is the truly all the recommendation stems from?

Actually no..... the flags don't always work properly in a subfolder. The scripts work off of root as TDJ can't possibly begin to guess all of the possible folder names you all would use. He would have to write his script to point to /whatever-you-call-your-folder/rom-flags.zip

If you read his OP in his entirety, its not a suggestion ..... its instruction to use the root folder.

If you don't plan on using any flags, by all means, put it into a sub folder. It will still flash :)

To be honest the script has been updated and should work within sub folders. I still will always suggest root of SD card for flashing anything. Just my opinion, reduces issues...

light-medium usage over the week, loving it. I've had the same usage with other ROMs and they usually only go to about ~20 hours before it reaches below 10%. Great work on the ROM, TDJ

Ok guys...regardless of what someone posts in this forum, its well known that tdj has created a ROM t that have great battery life.

Waiting for someone to post screen on time should not dictate wether or not you install the ROM

Just make the jump

it was ~3 hours screen on, 30 minutes of which was playing a 3d game.

the point wasn't just about numbers, it was about how it compared to other ROMs with the same usage. I just ran that SKYicecream themed ROM in General forums, it was smooth as hell but battery dropped to 82% after 3 hours of standby (I was asleep for those 3 hours after I flashed it). Great battery life, this is all out of the box with no 3rd party CPU apps running

Man TDJ the battery life on your ROM sucks. It's just horrible. You need to API so much work on this to make the battery life better.

Hahahahahaha. haters going hate, real ROM flashers congratulate. Your ROM is by far the best no lag, best battery I have ever used on a Android phone ever. Your work is just outstanding. Thanks for all the hard work you put on this ROM. If you need a tester just hit me up, I know you work alone and all but help is good. Thanks again for having something I can brag about at work.

Installed my first ever rom last night and its been great so far, not even one hiccup. Everything is so smooth :D Thanks TDJ!!!

BTW how much idle drain are you guys getting? Its about 1.5% an hour for me, and from searching through the thread I see some people are getting below 1% an hour. Not a big deal but I was just wondering.

*WARNING! I Am Not Responsible For Anything That Happens To Your Device*

    :: DIGITAL.WARFARE ::

    ..A DARKSIDE DEVELOPMENT..

** PLEASE READ ENTIRE OP THOROUGHLY BEFORE ASKING ANY QUESTIONS OR REPORTING ANY BUGS **

    ** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED **

    ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.7

Based off STOCK KL1 System dump straight from my very own untouched(at the time) device

    Included:

CLEAN, FAST, SMOOTH, & FULLY FUNCTIONAL !!!
    • Enhanced/Optimized Stock ROM - *VERY MINOR* visual changes
    • KL1 Android 2.3.6
    • Deodexed (Thanks @raycaster3)
    • CIQ Free
    • Touch or Touchless - included in one ROM - available with flag
    • DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE - available with flag
    • Blurry MMS fixed (@TDJ)
    • MMS over WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • 14 toggle quickpanel w/ quickpanel settings app (@lidroid)
    • Extended Power Menu
    • Zip align on boot
    • Optimized/Refined
    • Roboto Font default
    • CRT Off animation
    • Volume Wake
    • Fixed Kernel info in 'About' settings
    • Removed uneeded apps aka "BLOAT"
    • BLN support for STOCK messaging app
    • BLN support for "most" other apps
    • SIP over 3g/4g
    • Modified Stock Browser
    • Modified TW Launcher

    Working:
    • DATA
    • MMS
    • WIFI
    • WIFI CALLING
    • MMS OVER WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • GPS
    • BLUETOOTH
    • WIRELESS TETHER
    • USB TETHER

    Known Issues:
    • You tell me...

    TOUCH Includes:
    -Default install with no flags
    • TouchWiz UI
    • All stock Samsung apps

    TOUCHLESS Includes:
-Installed using '-notw' flag at end of file name
    • Removes TouchWiz UI
    • Zeam Launcher
    • Removes most Samsung apps

    Add flags to filename:

An adaptation of @waydownsouth's script, I have modified and created a script that allows for flexibility with how I can create and user can install a ROM. *PLEASE READ* this next section carefully and only proceed with a full understanding of what you are about to do. Ask any questions within the thread before doing so...

    Available flags:
    • -wipe
    • -notw
    • -twmod
    • -nobatt
    • -volwake
What SUPER DARKSIDE WIPE flag does:
    • -wipe = A full wipe that is much more through and is HIGHLY suggested over any wipe options in recovery menu. It will also format partitions to EXT4 (NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA! DOESN'T TOUCH SD CARD/EMMC!)
    • -notw = (No TouchWiz - TOUCHLESS) This will remove the TouchWiz UI and mostly all Samsung apps and Widgets. I left some of the more requested apps in. By not adding this flag you will get a STOCK KL1 Build.
    • -twmod = Installs a 5x4x5 modified TW Launcher. (See screen shot below)
    • -nobatt = Completely disables the 100% battery pop-up and notification.
    • -volwake = Enables volume buttons to wake the device (Just as power button)
If no -wipe flag is added to the end of file name it will not wipe...

Adding flags to the file name:

    If default file name is:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ.zip[/B]

To perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

To flash a TOUCHLESS ROM and perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -notw and -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe-notw[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

Get IT??? Its as simple as adding available flag to the end of the file name.

*PLEASE NOTE* The file name must also contain no spaces or else it will not work!!

    Kernel Info:
    • Kernel base: 2.6.35.14
    • Included Version: DARKSIDE X v2 RC2 *UNRELEASED* - lets keep it that way for now...
More info found in my other thread [HERE]

What i am am about to say is real talk. v2.6 is going to update to my new v3 kernel. I rebased off the latest skyrocket source that was released in the end of February. If you don't things could get and more smooth, snappy, and more battery efficient.. you're in for a treat! I also will be including a script that can set a predefined profile, you may have seen screen shots I have posted. No eta on release so don't ask.. not sure what other changes, if any, will be included.

I also have to say that this board is in rough shape. A lot people think I like to "troll" these boards and cause drama. I just want to clear this up and let people know that I am only looking out for the better of the community. A lot of people here don't really know a lot of the technical sides of android and our device. I really hate to see people get screwed over by someone that really doesn't have a clue but needs to try and feel important on xda. I am honestly looking out for our community and try to weed out the garbage as best I can. I don't care what people think of me and I don't care what people say. I do what I say and say what I do. I have contributed plenty to this board and never leave you guys hanging. Honestly outside team kang there hasn't been much actual development since I migrated over here. I appricate that people are eager to learn, but its a damn shame the ego that comes along with having your own thread...

With v2.6 I think its going to be time to take a break because honestly, **** is ridiculous over here. OK vent over... carry on my dudes
