Yes, it is valid for your device. But you have to install the device-specific usb-drivers too (as usually) ...

One more quick query to experts here...

The last time I used fastboot+adb couple of years back,
I read in some websites, that the official "fastboot.exe" has a limitation, w.r.to its file-size handling capability of large image_sizes.
So "mfastboot.exe" was developed to address this problem. which I used for my MotoG 3rd gen.

My question, the current day "fastboot.exe" also has that file-size limitation? or it has been long solved.

Just want to say thanks to @shimp208 for this useful tool. One curved ball that people should be aware of. I have a piece of software called BullGuard which acts as anti-virus and firewall. Yep, you guessed it, even though it was smart enough to identify ADB and realized its purpose (creating a rule on the fly). It wasn't so smart with cmd-here.exe and was silently, very silently, blocking the endpoint on 127.0.0.1. Grrr.... Half a day wasted, downloading different drivers and trying to figure it out......

ADB commands do not work, while fastboot commands work fine, Ver. 1.4.2

> adb install app.apk

error: no devices/emulators found
adb: error: connect failed: no devices/emulators found
- waiting for device -

C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb devices
List of devices attached
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>

Fastboot commands work fine, for example,
fastboot boot twrp-harpia-3.1.1-r1.img works just fine

Windows 7, 64 bits
Moto G4 Play XT1601 Stock ROM Android 6.0.1 (Telus Canada)
OEM unlocking - ON
USB debugging -ON
Security => Unknown sources -ON

Boy, I recently spent a whole morning on this recently. Two gotchas:-

1) You need to make sure USB file sharing (not just charging) is on for ADB to work. I'm sure this is a bug!!!!!
2) Disable any Anti-virus/Firewall.
(I had an anti-virus/firewall running called Bullguard. The Firewall was smart enough to figure out what ADB.exe was and allow it. But Minimal ADB launches cmd-exe.exe or something and the Firewall was silently intercepting the 127.0.0.1 endpoint.)

also if he emulator fires up do an adb kill-server and try again.

if you claim adb is not working properly, try it from linux instead

- get UNetbootin and create bootable USB-Stick with Distribution Ubuntu 16.04_Live
- boot Computer from USB-Stick
- open shell with CTRL + T
- type "adb devices"

for installing adb, make sure you have LAN cabel connected, type
Code:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot

As your screenshot tells, adb does not find the specified file (ota.zip). If it is not seated in your current directory you have to give the full pathname, e.g.
adb sideload
c:\users\thats_me\documents\ota.zip
it gives me the same error

I know that with the use of a program called "large address aware", i should resolve, but it doesn't work with me

    Introduction

ADB and Fastboot are arguably two of the most indispensable tools used when working with Android devices. If you really want to modify, debug, and tweak along with their countless uses in rooting, and other procedures ADB and Fastboot are a must for any Android device owner. Typically if you want to install ADB and Fastboot you have to download and setup the Android SDK (If you really want to learn about Android Development I highly recommend downloading and installing the full Android SDK from here), but this can be unnecessary for people who just want to install ADB and Fastboot. To simply the process I created a windows installer that will install the latest version of ADB and Fastboot for you quickly and easily. The total installation of Minimal ADB and Fastboot is around 2 MB in size (Compared to the 90+ MB size of the Android SDK Tools, and 425+ MB size of the complete Android SDK) making it very lightweight.

    Features

    • Easily Install ADB and Fastboot with a simple to use installer
    • Lightweight, total installation around 2 MB in size
    How to Install

    Prerequisites
    • Your device is plugged into your computer
    • You have USB Debugging enabled under Developer Options (Note: This may be listed as ADB Debugging on some ROM's)
    • You have installed the necessary drivers and your computer is recognizing your device

    1. Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup.exe from here
    2. Follow the Installers instructions and select where you would like to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too (For simplicity I choose to install it to the Desktop)
    3. After you have chosen where to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too select whether you would like to create a Start Menu Folder or not for the instalation
    4. Once you have chosen where to install it to and if you want to create a Start Menu Folder select the install option
    5. After the Installation Wizard has completed you can select to start Minimal ADB and Fastboot
    6. You can also start Minimal ADB and Fastboot by navigating to the Start Menu Folder you choose to create during installation or the desktop shortcut you choose to create and selecting Minimal ADB and Fastboot
    7. You should now see a command window open, with the command window open you can now issue ADB and Fastboot commands to your device

For more information on issuing commands to your device using ADB and Fastboot I would recommend taking a look at this guide on ADB and this guide on Fastboot.
