[DISCONTINUED][APP][OpenSource] SlimSocial for Facebook (~150Kb & 0 Useless Permissions)

Hi Friends!
Do you find Facebook app uncomfortable? :cyclops:
Is it too heavy, too slow, too energy-consumptive or with too permissions?

I thought so, and since I don't use Facebook a lot, I wondered why I have to have their cumbersome app?
Obviously, I had tried Facebook Light but it was still too "intrusive" to my use.
For months I've only use the web version of Facebook using the browser but it was stressful because it usually opened a lot of tabs and it killed my battery.

I noticed that the web version of Facebook was complete and fast so I've thought:
"Why don't I create a very simply app that uses the web version of Facebook?"

~~SlimFacebook~~ SlimSocial for Facebook , with its <200Kb and 0 Useless Permissions, is the result!

Just made, anyone who has saw it want to download it so I've decided to upload it into the PlayStore and on Github to allow everyone to contribute.:fingers-crossed:

In the first version of the app I've put only:

go to the home;
refresh the page;
go on the top;
open the actual page on the browser;
open the app with facebook links;
the external links are not opened in the app;
nothing else.

Actually there are some interesting features:

Photo and video upload for any android version;
Scroll to refresh;
Messages tab;
Ultra fast share;
Full screen video;
Photo download;
Use share button to pubblish post;
Facebook links are opened with this app;
CSS customization (black theme, fix the bar on top, more space between posts);
Samsung popup;
Multi-language;

Actually there aren't / TO-DO LIST:

JSOUP support to apply customization faster;
Direct share of photos;
GIF into app;
notifications;
custom javascript allert;
some widgets;
things received from feedback.

Actually, you can't because Facebook don't provide this function! I advise to use Messanger to chat.

Testing, will upload feedback shortly.

Edit1: Scrolling trough news feed is smooth,but I sometimes get some stutter upon loading some more stories. Besides that, everything is working perfectly.

I was looking for facebook app alternatives and thought of trying this. The official app is way too heavy and buggy.

Question though, if i disable facebook and messenger, i can still receive messenger apps thru your app right?

It depens on your use.
Nowadays I advise to install this app only if you use it a few because some function like notifications and photo upload don't work.
You can try to install SlimFacebook + Messenger.
It's the best solution in my opinion. Take a feedback soon

May I suggest somehow removing the default Facebook header somehow and incorporating it all into a material design with a configurable hamburger menu with one main setting being "Default Newsfeed View" as I personally like Most Recent while others may prefer Top Stories. (the links have only a tiny variation (Most Recent is ?sk=h_chr | Top Stories ?sk=h_nor)). The material design will also give a bit of freedom for yourself as you won't have to fit so much into your header.

Remove the facebook header and make it through the material design is hard because Facebook didn't release any API and so it i should edit the HTML of each page downloaded otherwise I should edit the css of the page to hide it but after I wouldn't know how get the numbers of incoming messages or notifications.
I'll think about it

Add sk=h_chr or ?sk=h_nor on the link it's a good idea but it seems not work in the mobile version ( https://touch.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr )

great keep it up, best of its kind from what iv seen. also add download option for pics/vids maybe and a dark version theme will be great for night viewing
