Who knows what essential functions Google will kill off in Key Lime Pie. At the rate they're going, BT will still be dead. Maybe their wonderful coding will disable all radio chips in "native" Key Lime Pie so that any Nexus device that you buy with that OS will be bricked right out of the box. Be thankful that Samsung and other manufacturers are doing more extensive testing of code than Google does.

I did not expect anything less than android 5 from a top spec tablet from late 2012!! I hope they deliver this update faster than 4.1

From Sammy

Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Care.

The N8000 is a 3G variant of the Galaxy Note Tab, you are able to make phone calls and browse the internet using a network provider of your choice. Please be aware that there are two major different models with the Galaxy Note Tab, there is the GT-N8000 which works on the 900 band, this means that Optus and Vodafone will work and network providers under them, and there is the GT-N8000T which works on the 850 band, this means that Telstra and the network providers under them will work.

The N8010 is a WiFi only tablet. This tablet is unable to make phone calls unlike its 3G variant.

The N8013 is an overseas model of the WiFi variant and has not been released in Australia.

I hope this has been some help to you.

If you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact Samsung Customer Care on 1300 362 603.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
Kind regards,

and from a fellow member:

"A friend of mine got his galaxy note 10.1 from states before it was available in Canada. He has a 16 GB model and it is N8013. I got mine two months later in Canada and it is a 32GB model N8010. (haven't seen 16 GB variants yet)
I did a comparison between the two. The obvious differences are: updates are available at least a month sooner for the N8013 models before they are available for the N8010 ones, out of the box N8013 came with some apps like Kno textbooks that were not found on N8010 model out of the box, the screens on N8013 model has a much better color saturation and produces deeper colors than N8010 model, and finally the N8013 models weigh noticeably more than N8010 models which can be a result of the materials used in making the two. N8013 has a much better built quality than N8010 models.

Hope this helps"

so i guess i got lucky! WOOT WOOT!

I've waited for the 4.2.2 update last May 31 to June 3 then no OTA update !. this is annoying. :(

Send from my Awesome phone

Samsung has not announced any specific dates for 4.2.2. In fact, they haven't even officially announced that updates will happen at all. This is based on one report on a techblog.

So don't get yer knickers in a knot just yet.

Samfirmware's track record is at best 50/50. Since everything posted is always from an unamed "insider" there's no reason that anything they post needs to be true. What's going to happen to them if the whole list is made up? Other than driving a lot of click-throughs and traffic to their site of course. Logic says the N2 and Note 10.1 will get 4.2.X. They should probably get 5.0 too. But I'd never taken anything said on Samfirmware as gospel and until something from Samsung themselves is published just hope for the best.

A couple of weeks before the SGS4 was released they said it was going to be Snapdragon only because of overheating issues with Octa and was going to be LCD because of Samsung having SAMOLED productions issues. That was according to their "insider."

If you look at comments on Google code, you'll see that Bluetooth remains broken in 4.2.2. This is totally unawesome and Google seems unable or unwilling to fix their code.

Samsung's uses their own BT implementation so it doesn't affect their devices. Sucks for AOSP users though; especially because its been broken for so long.

What really annoys me is the fact that the Note 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 are already getting OTA updates to Android 4.2.2.

Our note 10.1's are still the higher-end 10-inch Samsung tablets, so they should get the updates faster... Let's wait and see...

Maybe they skip Android 4.2.2 and push 4.3 updates. Nog sure why the Note 8.0 receives the update though, same hardware......

What is the Bluetooth problem about ?

Don't notice any problem in the note

You are on Jellybean 4.1.2 if you're on the updated sock ROM. Google put out an increnental update last fall with the Jelly Bean designation 4.2, this update has killed Bluetooth. Most Nexus device users, who are the consumers who've gotten this update are reporting that audio Bluetooth is completely dead and that other Bluetooth devices may connect briefly but then disconnect and the device must be rebooted. Google has been silent on this issue in the Google Code forums and 2 subsequent updates, 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 have not fixed it. Users in the Google Code forums are frustrated as this problem has existed for almost 5 months and Google is dead silent on the issue.
