Damn I finally got it -Thanks here is what I had to do
I had Voodoo Ota rootkeeper with root backed up
After I did the ota to ics I restored root
Tried to flash cwm with recovery installer keep getting message device not rooted
Started searching landed here
baseballfanz suggested to move su from system/bin to system/xbin which I did
when I did that I lost root completely-was able to restore with Voodoo rootkeeper it confirmed I wasn't rooted so I restored root -
It placed the su file back into system/bin
I copied it with root explorer and pasted it to system/xbin
so now I have su in both system/bin and system/xbin
installed recovery installer and viola it work device rebooted and now I have cmw recovery YAY :):D
Thanks baseballfanz your advice was what got me over the top :D

was having the same issue and your method worked no problem. thanks for your info!

Good evning,

I've read that thisapp could solve th problem for peopl who installed Clockworkmod recovery 5.5.0.4 and have bootloops on rcovery like me.

But when launching the app, everything goes fine untill it reboots....on the bad 5.5.0.4 recovery (before he can install the good one i guess).

Did anyone manage to install the good recovery please? Thanks.

Thank you, it worked!! Amazing! Now to figure out how to boot into recovery. I had previously installed cwm via romtoolbox but couldn't boot into it. Everytime I tried recoveryinstaller it claimed I wasn't rooted. Same reason, su wasn't in xbin. This needs to be made into a sticky post.

So I've booted into it manually. I don't have an SD card. How can I access the internal storage? Is this the latest clockwork mod recovery? 3.2.0.1

If I try the official cwm via rom toolbox would I then be able to access internal storage?

Thanks

this is the fast way to get into recovery
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwyLDEsImNvbS50cmFuc2Zvcm1lci5yZWNvdmVyeSJd

but get to know the manual method:

Vol down plus Power button
When you see words at the top left corner of the tf
Immediately push Vol up within 5 sec to get into recovery

The newer version of cwm will flash from internal storage or Team Rouge will do both internal and external

Look in system/bin for su and copy it to system/xbin

Dear users, to help you I just build app a small app called RecoveryInstaller which allow you to easily install the ClockWorkMod Custom Recovery. Here you are:

It should not have problem, I just tested it.
Hope you will enjoy your root now, and, why not, switch to Revolver. :p

PS: I don't take any responsibility if Recovery Installer causes any damage!

Thanks Roach2010 for his CWM recovery version.

Multiupload has been taken down in the US by the feds

I take no credits for these. RecoveryInstaller is by Gnufabio.
Modified version w/ Team Rouge's recovery image belong to Team Rouge.
I only modified originally for a friend but I shared because other links all dead or don't work.

    Mirrors:

The "DOWNLOAD" link on the first post is not working. The goo-inside.me site says that the file cannot be found. Anyone else having this problem? Where can I obtain Gnufabio's apk? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Just found this mirror amongst the hundreds of posts in this thread: http://db.tt/W0Hil4Kb

After I installed it and pressed flash recovery it just reboots ?

After running the flash recovery button it reboots but I see no way of reaching it. Do I install clockwork mod app now and flash from there?

Yes, you should click the button and the Superuser app will ask for permissions. Then the tablet reboots and to enter it you have to keep the Volume - key pressed and when it the TF writes "Booting into recovery" on the screen press Volume + once
