As for the apps you might want to consider THIS, it's a pc batch backup programm written by a fellow developer that also supports data backup and restore, i'm actually using it right now and waiting to see what happens

+1 when i changed kernel my phone was performing much better. I believe Matr1x V18,5 is more "battery friendly".

As soon as Cybergr releases his new fixed version i will have it installed. Anyway V9 was the BEST rom i ever used.

At the moment, since i only have one phone, i needed something more stable in terms of battery life.

i really don't know about other roms and admitedly air is somewhat smoother in general but i've actually tested it on cyber v9 and cm9 and the difference in battery life was substantial. on air i needed a charge mid-day but on matr1x i can go through a full day with average-heavy usage without any problem or a need for charge. also matr1x is really stable now unlike previous versions thhat kept rebboting once or twice a day. as of now, in about a week i had 0 reboots. deep idle off!

Is airkernel the one used on V10 and Matr1x used on V9?

yes, exactly, matr1x 17.5 (then) was used on v9, and that's how i actually first noticed the difference, and Air 3.8 is on v10

really haven't had the time to test that, when i first posted (15 mins ago) i had just finished flashing, so i really got no clue.. i'll report that after a full day of usage

I was able to restore all my apps using MyBackup Pro. This worked fine except that apparently my device ran out of storage near the end of the restore and the last few of my apps beginning with a "W" onward didn't get restored.

maybe air doesn't like to play on my phone, V10 is very unstable for me. I switch back to V9 for day to day usage and when I have a minute I switch to v10 to do testing. Maybe I'll install matr1x and see...

since v10 was launched ive been busy with work alot so i can provide some screenshots on battery life with little use.i can report very good battery life with little usage and a bug with usb connection not working , this seems to be fixed with a phone reboot.

Quite simply an amazing ROM. Having tried many of the Nexus S ROMs, this is the only one that shows stability right from the first boot.

Many many thanks and do keep up the excellent work!

Nope... No dice.

Followed all OP's instruction to the letter...
I've tried all kinds of different format/wipe combinations, dalvik wiper.zip, rom wiper.zip, reflashed recovery, everything short of an odin flash and I still get reboots..?

what am I missing...:confused:

Guess I'll just have to stick with v.9 for now, not such a bad fate is it?:D

Apps that I have paid for show up like I havent purchased them before in the market... Anybody else gave this issue?

alright so im going to run a test tonight and see if i get bad idle use or if it was just a fluke.

so i flashed v10. left everything default... installed only cpu spy. and tweaked some of the toggle settings / lockscreen settings... thats it.

ill record the battery % when i go to bed, and when i wake up tomorrow morning about 8 ish hrs later.

help!

USB tethering not working in ver.10..I am facing this problem since from earlier ver of this rom....

is this issue related to kernel or to rom???any one knows plz inform me the fix...

there is problem with latest cwm recovery....try earliest version of recovery .. it may work...

Well.. i seem to have no problem with my sd card mount. i also didn't follow the exact flash procedure as reccomended in the first post

Recovery
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache
-mounts and storage>-format boot
-format system
-advanced>wipe dalvik cache (no i didn't use the dalvik wiper just plain ol' good clockworkmod option)

After that just flashed the rom, boot up, i then did absolutely nothing, just left it in the launcher and 5-10 mins later i made a reboot, normal reboot not recovery.
Again i just left it there for a while.
After that i booted to recovery, wipe cache/dalvik cache and then flashed the kernel i wanted (matr1x).
Boot..and then i got to work, system settings, not anything really on the performance, it isn't needed at all, and then restore all the apps i wanted with a batch backup tool , that i've mentioned before and.. reboot..

Well the point here is that have a pretty good battery life (around 2% loss per hour when idle) and a completely stable device. I've yet to see any of these bugs that have been mentioned. i even restored some systen app data with Tiatanium Backup and everything went smoothly

My device is an i9023, although i don't think i really matters (although it may do..but it's unprobable)

I wanna report the first bug for me in this release. The light sensor doesn't work right for me. When I use the phone every couple of seconds the screen brightness goes down to min and then goes up to max. I stay in one place during this without there being any light changes
Other than that as I said before this is the best rom ever

Yeah, like someone said before Calendar notifications don't go off at all. Plus, if I choose to have my screen's brightness set at auto the brightness changes erratically, unlike before when it would get brighter in daylight and duller at night as it should. Once again, these are both problems with v.10.

Still though, v.10 is very noticeably faster than v.9. I don't really notice any lag unlike before.

    Installation Instructions :​

    • A clean install is recommended to avoid any FC etc.
    • Download CyberGR-MOD.NS.NGN_ver.14*.zip file to your computer.
    • Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery
    • From main menu select wipe data/factory reset and wipe/cache partition
    • Use Dalvik-wiper.zip to wipe Dalvik Cache.You can get it from here : Link 1 or here : Link 2
    • From advanced select reboot recovery
    • After rebooting recovery wipe data/factory reset & cache again and then from mounts and storage select format /system /data /cache /boot & format /sdcard.
    • Now select from mount and storage, mount USB storage and copy over to your Nexus S storage the CyberGR-MOD.NS.NGN_ver.14*.zip file.
    • Detach the USB CABLE from your Nexus S.
    • From main menu select install zip from sdcard then choose zip from storage
    • Select CyberGR-MOD.NS.NGN_ver.14*.zip and proceed with the setup.
    • When done!Reboot your device
    • First boot as expected might be slow but nothing to worry about, its normal.After first boot, before doing anything a reboot is recommended.(fixes misplaced CyberGR-MOD wallpaper in Ver.14 too)
      [*]ENJOY!!


    PS : 1. First time NSToolls will ask you for superuser permissions, be careful to press ALLOW, then it will come up with a notification saying "some settings have been discarded" blah blah, don`t worry it`s absolutely normal!!Just open NSTools, configure and reboot!!

    2. Be careful don`t wipe battery stats, do it only if you want to calibrate your battery!!

    3. Clean Install for Version 14 as always is recommended...Although if you are coming from Version 12 a simple Wipe Cache + Dalvik Cache and optionally wipe data/factory reset will just do the job!

    4. First start up might take a little bit longer this time.It`s 100% Normal.

    5. WARNING -- > If you want to try and change FONTS on your system using the Font Installer App included in CyberGR|MOD just be sure to make a NANDdroid back up 1st via CWM Recovery..95% of the fonts working just perfect but there is a 5% that maybe cause an infinity Boot Loop on your system!For Customaa & Corsiva fonts have been reported to cause the problem i mentioned above.     ​

    • I hate number 13 that's why i jumped over Version 14 directly!So don`t search for Version 13 at all..!! ;-)

    Tips & Tricks :​
    • Tip 1 : Trebuchet Launcher sometimes may be a little bit laggy when you open application drawer.Just press menu button when you are in home screen, select preferences and finally under Drawer menu un-check Join widgets with apps!! (Not any more in Version 7 and up coming versions but always useful.)

    • Tip 2 : Optional - Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Background process limit and select At most 4 processes.

    • Tip 3 : Optional - Go to Settings -> Developer options -> And Check Force GPU rendering. Be careful with this one...you will have some noticeable performance boost on some apps, like benchmarking apps and other but maybe some other won`t work at all or half work..example detailed weather information in default news & weather widget.

    • Tip 4 : Random Questions regarding I/O Schedulers, Governors etc. Have a look at this --> Link

    14.05 : Updated to latest IMM76I (no real impact on our Nexus S between IMM76D and IMM76I, implemented HWComposer by Google - but most changes regarding the Galaxy Nexus), Updated Google Earth to latest version 6.2 (6.2.1.6363), Edited some tweaks in init.d folder and made some changes, Fixed Disable Camera shutter and auto focus sounds - now if you decide to disable them both of them will turn off, Battery life improvements, Freezing clock must be fixed, Updated Google Apps, Auto brightness will be more responsive, Reviewed some of the tweaks and init.d scripts included into CyberGR|MOD, Updated Nova Launcher to latest 1.0.2, Mainly maintenance & optimization release for a really stable daily driver, Codename is now "Thunder Storm".

    Hello..

    Being a long time i am off the XDA and specially away from the Nexus S Android Development cause of my military duties.
    I have to say that i never forgot the wonderful Nexus S Android Development and of course my thread and efforts with CyberGRlMOD Rom.
    I was trying to caught up with you guys as always in this thread but i have been really busy.Although you must be sure i haven`t lost a single post
    in this huge thread. ;)

    At this point i have to thanks every single of you guys for the wonderful words i have read in the past few pages, made me really happy as also the fact i have been recognized as "Recognized Developer" by the XDA Moderator team a month ago but i just realized it..!!

    So THANK YOU ALL...

    Now the good and the bad news...!!
    I have still 66 days to go in the Greek Army and i will try to make a promise here to all of you.
    I will try to develop a Nexus S Android JB 4.2 Rom in the near future but i don`t know if it will be possible cause i don`t have a Nexus S
    anymore..actually it needs to be repaired cause it has been broken in the "Battle Field".For the moment the cost of doing that it`s a "NO way" for me and my pocket and was a lot more convenient upgrading to Galaxy Nexus.
    I definitely thinking of making a GNex Rom but also i ll try of release one for the Nexus S..but without a NS in my hands i ll not have the possibility to test it by my self before releasing it, as i used to!

    Anyway..you will know soon what`s the future of CyberGR|MOD will be!!
