i'm still getting some freezing.

conditions...

1. If i open a video on youtube or picture in the gallery, then let my screen timeout, then try to turn the screen back on and resume what i was doing, the screen is frozen and i can't interact with it. The home button is unresponsive. I can turn the screen on and off with the power button. I either have to hold the power button or take the battery out.

2. If i get a reminder about a meeting while the phone has been sitting for a while, the screen turns on and freezes. I'm unable to unlock the screen or dismiss the meeting reminder.

I'm going to delete all of the init.d files and see if that fixes it. I didnt have these problems until the beta4.

I would reinstall the Rom again if I were you. I have yet to encounter that problem or any for that matter. Something is defiantly wrong. And I don't think anyone else has either and if they have I hope that they chime in and tell me.

Edit. I just tried to with the gallery and you tube. I let it time out once catching it before it secure locked, and the other waiting the 5 sec after the screen timed out. And was able to unlock and interact just fine.

I would still try to at least dirty flash the Rom again just to see if something got corrupted.

Did anybody else experience SD card issues with this ROM? Mine is acting weird as hell, cant access anything on it, and all file managers crash when navigating to it. Trying to format it now in Recovery, see if that helps. Also my PC does not recognize the phone when connected, any suggestions?

Try to reinstall the Samsung drivers for your computer to fix the computer not recognising the mobile..

Format your memory card on computer for best performance rather than mobile

I had problem with my pc recognizing the phone as well. Reinstall driver, turn off phone and pc, connect phone to pc, turn on pc, once pc is done loading, turn on phone. pc should recognize phone then.

I just wanted to report I'm having no issues with the cpu_sleep initscripts. No stutters with music playing and screen off either. Thanks for all the great work! :D

One question I have though.. Is the Loopy Smoothness tweak run only once on boot, or does it run continually in the background? I'm wondering about filling my own apps into the top section to try and squeeze a bit more performance out of everything.

That's great! My cpu must not like it very much, although I didn't have major issues. But about every 15 minutes I would have a quick pause while playing music. And just a little bit of lag when waking the device. Glad it's working good for you.

Yes, the script should be looping all the time to keep certain apps in memory.

still getting some freezes after the dirty flash. I'm going to do a clean flash and skip the init.d tweaks. If all is good, i'll re-add the init.d tweaks to see if the problem comes back.

After couple days of running it (and bunchs of tested mods) very stable. Have no issues with the cpusleep as well. But I notice after my phone comes out sleep mode I get a bunch of text pop in Like my phone signal gets turned off in deep idle.

Thanks :) I find it's very stable as well, I use most of the mods I posted. I get good battery life, can't say I get 5 hours of screen time but I use it more as MP3 player. But I get 17-18 hours on battery with normal use. Usually 6 hours of music and 2-3 hours of screen on. I can squeeze 2 or 3 days easy if I don't use it much.

Far as the cpu_sleep, I figured it would affect other things like incoming phone calls and such. But it was something a lot of others use on dual core phones. Just an option thought some would like to try. If you run into problems with it delete it from the init.d folder and restart the phone. This phone doesn't need it with the other tweeks battery is better in stand by anyway.

I hate antutu benchmark it will be 9000 one time and 11000 the next. With Vellamo and quadrant, it's constant. Here are before an after the sysctl tweaks. Don't mind that one pont on HTML5 HAHA

OK so I'm not getting results like some of the guys posting 12+ hours and 4 hours screen on, but here are my results on stock kernel and beta 4 tweaks. Keep in mind most of the day I'm on a blue tooth headset and listening to audio books. I rely on maps all day while driving and constant LTE....

Is this still true for beta 4, or if I want to remove the tweaks, do I delete everything in the init.d folder?

There is a bunch of files in there, and I'm not sure what is what yet...

I'm working on understanding the tweaks...

Sent from my Smoof

Alright, I'm going to delete everything in there.

Then I'm going to try the Ziggy kernel. With and without the tweaks. Just to compare...

I will report back in a few days on how it performs. I wasn't happy with KT747.

Thanks dude!

I've tried a few, I've been happiest with the stock kernel so far.
I've heard good things about lean kennel. It's t mobile but I think he made it unified for AT&T since they were so close.
Nevermind lean seems to only be for Verizon and t mobile but he has an aosp kennel for AT&T

I'd prefer to run a stock kernel except I like being able to mess around with governors, clock speeds and undervolting. I've thought about building my own kernel based on the stock one but am not sure how easy it would be compared to building a standard Linux kernel. Either way I have enough experience to get it done so I may as well if I can find some sources or such :D

Personally I wouldn't delete everything unless you only have the files from this thread. Other apps (such as SetCPU and ROM Toolbox) create init.d scripts as well. Just compare what's in there with the contents of the zip file from this thread and only delete those files.

No, there is a lot of stuff tied together in the framework and such that would have to be changed and it's all Samsung stuff. Without source code, Afraid it is what it is. I won't be able to do anything about it, way out of my league.

Based On The Official AT&T JellyBean UCDLK3

    Stock Insecure Kernel w/ init.d: updated 3-23-13

Seems there was an issue with the dsiXDA Kitchen and does not give correct root through adb support... it is now fixed sorry... I don't use it so I never tested it just assumed the Kitchen did it correctly.
This will return you to the Stock UCDLK3 Kernel if you have flashed Ktoonsez JB kernel. Script will delete everything necessary and restore the stock modules. Its ok to flash even if you haven't previously flashed Ktoonsez JB kernel. Will Restore you from flashing InstigatorX, Faux kernel and many more. (Updated Script and corrected adbd root: 3-23-13)
Stock Kernel: Insecure Boot w/ init.d
    http://d-h.st/KAB

Completely Stock UCDLK3 ROM's: ODEX and DEODEX

Below do not have a fancy flash script. Will only format System, so make sure you wipe first. It will not show you anything in TWRP should see updates in progress bar with CWR
Don't worry.... if it doesn't fail right away, it's flashing!

If you also want Insecure kernel/boot with ADB root support, please download and install kernel posted above.

http://d-h.st/Ltu This one contains a script called cpu_sleep. It will shut off one cpu core when the screen is turned off. Beware! better battery life at the cost of lower performance while the screen is off. Music and media playback while the screen is off will suffer. and probably more.

Note2 Gallery. The install script will delete the data from the gallery and media storage so it will work when you re-boot without any extra effort.
    Couple things I should mention...
    1. If you have a lot of music with album art... you can hide stuff in the gallery. I warn you if you hide your album art it will also hide your music from all music players.
    2. I did not include the camera... it's not much of an upgrade and it doesn't work fully anyway. I tried, believe me. Stock camera works fine with the new gallery. If you want it, it's around you can find it.

Removed Group Messaging From MMS.apk (It doesn't work right & cuts notifications short when inbox reaches max... My conclusion is it's AT&T... the Iphone Group works because they use special apn's and servers.)
Removed the Find my mobile from security settings, Sim alert FC when selecting it. If you want it back, change this statement marked in blue in the system/csc/featurs.xml to false
    Code:
    <CscFeature_Setting_DisableMenuFindMyMobile>[COLOR=Blue]true[/COLOR]</CscFeature_Setting_DisableMenuFindMyMobile>

*Please do not post complaints about battery life!

*Apps can make or break it!
    *Give it time to settle

Made by me using DSIXDA Kitchen...

Thanks to all XDA members for the wealth of knowledge posted on these forums! :good:

So with keeping the spirit of XDA... Sharing is Caring
Anyone can do anything they want with any MOD/ROM. I don't care, Make Sure You Thank and I get credit with a link to my thread.

If you can click the download link, you can click the THANKS button too. It's free and fun, it also shows us how much you care! :good:

    Important:

    1. If installing with the newest TWRP when you go to reboot it will come up with an warning that you have lost root permissions... This is not the case. It's either a bug with TWRP or it's not recognizing the new SuperSU. Either way it will give you an option to fix it. If you select "Do not fix" you will be just fine and you will indeed have a rooted phone. I suggest "Do not fix"

    2. On a clean install the SystemUI will probably Force Close upon first boot. No worries, it will only do it once. This happens because of the clock mod and the automatic network time setting not syncing right away.

    3. I suggest you reflash the new kernel package found below as adb root has been fixed. Seems the kitchen did not give proper root through adb support.

Important: As always I recommend a full wipe. *Dirty Flashing is OK*
If you experience any problems you must complete a full wipe before posting any issues.
NO WIPE = NO SUPPORT. YOU'VE BEEN TOLD!
