I've heard sprint data problems with AOSP Roms, is this the case in CM11?

On a separate note, in order to get knock to wake, would I HAVE to install a custom kernel such as bricked's?

Thanks in advance..

Yes, you must use a custom kernel in order to use doubletap2wake.

I'll try if the problems can be solved by just reflashing the gapps. Else, I'll do a fresh install as well because I agree with you that the changes causing this problems are very likely to persists with newer version.

I will try this first and then post the results, thanks.

A quick update: After I dirty flashed a newer cm version, my phone got stuck at the start, it updated the apps, but then won't go past "starting apps". A reboot didn't fixed the problem, so I decided to do a clean install which worked (even though I had to flash the rom twice because after the first wipe / install the launcher was missing, but that may have come from the rom).
So I'm sorry that I can't tell you if the problems with newer cm versions can be solved or not.

Would this build be the same as if the OP did it? Just wondering why he hasn't updated and someone else had to......

Did you make edits yourself or is this clean compilation from CM11? How did you fix ART?

"Stock" cm does not have s2w.
As my version includes bricked it has this feature. :)

Does cm have the network speed indicator in statusbar?
No and I think it's unlikely to get it.

Nothing much officially merged yet so new builds only make sense if you cherry pick same from time to time.
At least this is the fun part at building cm.
If you want 100% pure cm I guess you have to wait for official nightlis. ;)

Most edits come from official cm gerrit.
The art patch was released by some other dev. Can look up the actual commit when I am back at my PC.

Doesn't work for me, I get tons of force closes at start such as NFC and phone. I even tried not installing gapps first and just install the ROM itself. I already wiped the device.

Are you flashing the moto x dalvik patch? That's your problem.

Also, are there any CAF kernels with fauxsound?

Anyone else having issues downloading that version from lharpl
What kind of problems do you have?
Mediafire not accessible? MD5 wrong?

Which recovery did you use?
What did you wipe? Important are data, system, caches.

Also, are there any CAF kernels with fauxsound?
Not yet. show will integrate that in bricked as soon as it is running stable.

Thx! May I know why can't we do that though? Something to do with ART fix?
So you flashed a lot of different librarys into the rom, enabled ART(highly experimental as well) and say that the rom i compiled is not working?
Wow.
Art can not be the problem as i run it since yesterday without a single problem.
But flashing the "moto x" patch does of course a lot of problems. This are binarys where no one knows which code and which compilers where used to create them...

Lol I did not enable art, I wiped the device, then flashed your build, then moto x patch. And force closes happen immediately when it booted into rom.

You are talking about this moto x "patch" like it was some minor change in some setting file.
In fact it is not a patch but an exchange of important system librarys if you take a look at that zip file, it even exchanges libc.so.
This is pure insanity!

I have been running into an issue today where I am unable to compile my CM11 build. I keep getting the following error:

target thumb C++: camera.hammerhead <= hardware/qcom/camera/QCamera2/HAL3/QCamera3Factory.cpp
hardware/qcom/audio/hal/msm8974/platform.c: In function 'platform_get_output_snd_device':
hardware/qcom/audio/hal/msm8974/platform.c:661:26: error: 'AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_PROXY' undeclared (first use in this function)
hardware/qcom/audio/hal/msm8974/platform.c:661:26: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in
make: *** [/home/flint/android/system/out/target/product/hammerhead/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/audio.primary.msm8974_intermediates/msm8974/platform.o] Error 1
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
target thumb C++: camera.hammerhead <= hardware/qcom/camera/QCamera2/HAL3/QCamera3Hal.cpp
make: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.

This is very consistent and always happens when trying to compile the camera.hammerhead. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Up until today I have been able to compile everything just fine. Any help is appreciated.

Great ROM! Quick question, and I tried searching for this so don't stone me if it has been mentioned already, but is extended desktop functional? I found the setting to turn it on, but it was grayed out.

This thread is a disaster lol I'm kind of surprised its still open. Can someone get together a nightly build machine and just post nightlies instead of half working funky builds?

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (Kit Kat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit. Device-specific changes on my GitHub .

    Instructions:

First time flashing CyanogenMod 11.0 your device, or coming from another ROM?
    1. Download the zip(s).
    2. Optional: adb backup
    3. Fastboot oem unlock > fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
    4. Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
    5. Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (required when coming from stock!).
    6. Flash CyanogenMod.
    7. Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
    Issues?

Experience issues? As these are unofficial and very new beta builds, bug reports are accepted.

    GENERAL COMMENT AND REQUEST:

We ask all the regular contributors here to please answer the "xxx is broken" or "yyy force closes" statements without an attached logcat with something like "LOGCAT or it didn't happen"

Feel free to be creative but DO NOT respond with wipe cache/clear data or any other attempted solution before the reporting user has taken the trouble to actually try to help solve the problem (e.g. by attaching a logcat, detailed steps to reproduce etc.).

We need to force more discipline in how issues are reported which will help us all find and squash bugs that may exist.

Just clearing data etc. may in fact cause us to never find the bug that caused the issue and just makes for lazy users.

The CyanogenMod team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!
Thanks to romracer for doing initial CM work

Ok enough is enough. I only posted two days ago in this thread to keep it on topic. The OP doesn't seem to have a problem with people posting their own builds in here, so long as the OP doesn't have a problem with it then neither do I. If you think a post is in violation of the forum rules, simply report and move on, let the moderators deal with the situation. This is the final warning, any users who do not co-operate will be dealt with accordingly.

    Thread cleaned

OK guys i have repo synced and building again for you. Its pure CM11 with only 1 cherry pick, the phone icon is matching now KITKAT style. Also i hope to see few people vote the thread 5 stars and click THX button.

As per this page - http://www.xda-developers.com/android/introducing-original-development-forums-for-more-devices/

The following are most likely not “Original Development”, and should be posted in the “Android Development” subforum:

Your own “unofficial” stock build of your favourite original, source-built (or otherwise) ROM, particularly where an official or maintainer-endorsed thread exists already.

Who cares what category it goes in. Stop trying to make the forum thread go off topic by attempting to be a forum moderator. If you don't think it belongs in this section then report the thread and the moderator will do their job. You sitting here debating about it trying to justify it won't do anything but cause drama.

People nowadays feel like they need to say something. You don't. Let the moderators do their job and you as a user be a user.

Op even though cm isn't my flavor, thanks for all the work on getting it booting even though some people aren't fully appreciative. Keep what you do, otherwise we'd have to wait for the official nightlies.
