This tutorial will guide you through all the steps required to install CyanogenMod 9.0, which is based over Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3/4.0.4 on your Xperia 2011 device. Please see that your device needs to be Bootloader unlocked for this to work.

P.S. - Please note that these instructions are only meant for reference purpose. In case you are coming from another ROM and already have a custom Recovery on your phone, then it’s mandatory to Wipe all data before flashing this ROM.

I will not be responsible if you brick your device by following the procedure given below. Proceed with caution!

If phone is connected correctly in Fastboot Mode, a blue led light should glow up.

8. To check if your phone is connected correctly in Fastboot mode, type “fastboot devices” without the “” and if you get a serial number, that means it is connected correctly.

10. Now disconnect the USB cable and switch on your phone. While the phone is booting on and you see the FXP logo, keep tapping the volume down key until you enter recovery.

11. Once entered recovery, Format your /system partition, /data partition, /cache and dalvik-cache. Now choose the option which says Apple zip from sd card and select the CM9 update package.

Now reboot your phone and your phone should have updated to CyanogenMod 9.0 which runs over Ice Cream Sandwich!

When I do step 9, my phone doesn't boot. It just stays black and does nothing. I'm on Xperia Neo stock 4.0.4 rooted and unlocked.

Restart your PC and reconnect your mobile again on "flash mode" !!!

Fastboot is with menu-button and flash mode is with the phone on and als debugging on right? Or am I talking nonsense now?
But I tried that already. I flashed the kernel also with flashtool in flash mode. Had the same problem. Phone didn't boot.

No, it just stays black. I only notice a slight vibration when turning on but nothing comes up. Holding the volume button for CWM doesn't work also. Tried the kernel multiple times.

The one in the official CM 9.0 RC1 .zip. I don't know which one it is, it just says boot.img. Stock CM 9 kernel i'd say.

Sit down, take a deep breath, open google.com and ask it questions. You will be amazed what you can learn there. Some links will even bring you here, where all these have been explained, some time ago.

mate at least go some research before making tutorials. CM9 recommends baseband .72 they even uploaded small .ftf file on FXP's server for easy download.

altho, .64 baseband will work. i am not specialist to know whats different between .72 and .64 :)
