[Q] how to not upgrade to 4.4.2?

I have a Verizon non dev, locked bootloader, rooted phone running 4.4. Very happy with it.

Just automatically downloaded 4.4.2, but with all the horror stories i don't want to install it. Keep getting stupid reminders

Any way to get it off my phone and stop reminders?

Or any totally safe way to install it? Sounds like getting rid of xposed might do it...

use root explorer or the like and rename /priv-app/3c_ota.apk to 3c_ota.apk.bak

Use Titanium backup and freeze MotorolaOTA 1.0

I also just downloaded root explorer, but couldn't find the file you mentioned. Is it in a folder?

I just disabled "updater" in the app list.


Edit:
Nevermind, that only worked for the day, this morning it started trying to update again.

sorry... its exact path is /system/priv-app/3c_ota.apk

Will this work before I have gotten the update notification? I have gotten the update and frozen the app, but my wifes phone has not even gotten the update notification yet.
