To update from my issues from earlier being on stock aokp with poor sound quality, I have installed Glitched M5 with icy kernal and used the callboost 0/10 settings and am happy to report I think 99% of my problems have been solved! Ambient noise creep is down, speakerphone echo gone, and with the tiny flashlight app I don't see any reason to go backwards.

Thanks Stephen and all for your impressive work

Stephen,
Love this stuff, smooth and fast and re: speed, I've found that leaving all alone in the kernal, while running highest at 1400 and lowest at 200, brings the best results for my Fassy. Whenever I increase at all the OC value, things get sluggish and on occasion freeze (say-110% and 1200 or 1320).
Thanks again

An update on this: I did a battery calibration and ran my phone all the way down to dead. After charging it last night I'm still at 89% at 1:45pm with low use, whereas before I would be in the low 70s or high 60s.

Only issue I had was last night when I only had about 5% battery my data was stuck on uploading. I turned on Airplane mode to fix it but the option in my power menu was greyed out so I couldn't turn it off without rebooting.

Same exact thing happened to me I thought I was going crazy

Hi,
Could someone explain to me how to properly set the setting for BLN?
Below is how I set.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Status
ON

LED Timeout
30 sec

Blink Status
ON

Blink Interval
200 ms
---------------------------------------------------------------

My expectation was for BLN to turn off after blinking at the interval of 200ms for 30sec.
Instead, the BLN stays on beyond 30sec after blinking. No blinking after a while but constant on.
Is my expectaion correct to begin with?

Also, what is CMLED timeout?

Thanks in advance.

BTW, I'm setting these in NSTools.

Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for this. My wife just got a droid razr so I got her fassy and decided to sexify it. I was on Gee Whiz 2.8.1 for a bit and it worked great (great battery life and very smooth running), but I really don't like tw. It makes the phone seem like a toy.

So I got the info and files and used droidstyle's guide to install AOKP milestone 5 and I love it. Very smooth running and battery life is very good so far. I really like the ui. No more fisher price vibes. The whole process was easy; the last time I played with an android it was the moto defy.

Glitched version btw. :)
Where's my glitches? :D

Try using my battery guide post a few pages back and see if that helps you.

I haven't used the datadata fix but it's possible as /datadata is its own partition on a faster memory. I believe the patch moves it off of there so it is entirely possible that its a bit slower.

My recommendation still is to move all non-essential and non-widget apps to the sd card and to not keep a hundred apps installed. Back up large apps with titanium and if you get the hankering to use some app you havent used in a year and a half install it that way.

And well I don't know if I'm in for a huge correction soon but after a full wipe and a few calibration cycles:

To be fair the phone has only been on 6 hours total but...holy ****!!!

Making use of the auto brightness tweak setting that was posted here the other day and bumped into volts down a couple notches each.

I'm going to leave youtube running and see how well it does until I have to go to sleep and charge it.

Yeah so basically i had low space come on. Did datafix enable then the lag started. Figured id reverse it and did datafix disable but still lag. At least the low space stayed off....

Is there a folder or something to move/delete to go back to normal or is a rom reload the only way ?? Figured id ask before i go jack myself up. Thanks

Honestly I'm not sure. It would really come down to exactly what the script does and how cleanly it accomplishes that. Beyond that, I am officially speaking way above my pay grade.

My opinion is that a full device wipe (can even format everything but boot) never hurt things and can only make it better. Especially if you are having troubles with your partitions a full re-do and reconversion to mtd might be thebest way to go.

odin to eh03
reconvert to mtd using fixed cwm
wipe all the things
flash THS build 2
let it boot
wipe system data
flash m5 & gapps
calibrate battery

EDIT: I'd also run a cache cleaner like Cachecleaner NG nightly and once right now.

If you truly did revert it then you can check to make sure there's no duplicates in the /datadata partition. (you can find it on the root of the phone) Otherwise you can either re-setup the symlinks in a terminal or re-flash the ROM.

I haven't actually used Steve and ssewks version of the script so I'm not really sure what options they're giving with it. Weird stuff can happen when you mess with the /datadata partition if you're not careful though. >.<

edit: Actually, you could run a "df" command in a terminal to see how much space is being used in the /datadata partition. If it's completely empty it either means the script did not run right in the first place, or the revert script really screwed stuff up.

And you've tried rebooting, right? That usually solves 99% of lag/issues and should probably be done after messing with that stuff.

Ok ill have to do a little research. When it comes to terminal and that stuff im still new to it. Basically got the low space error. Used the dayafix enable to get rid of it. Started lagging then tried dayafix disable. Apparently it disabled but didnt seem to fix lag. Ill look dome more online nd see if theres a quick fix before i wipe everything.

Thanks for ur help guys.

lag is from the launcher...try turning off the resize any widget option and/or nova launcher. btw if your datadata is full then apps will force close not cause lag. also if you have a decently fast sd card(class 6+) then move all apps to sd...they load fast off of my class 10 anyway.

The lag in question would be caused from running the datafix script, which moves some app data to a slower partition. Also when the /datadata partition is near full performance takes a giant hit. (I have no data to back that up, just personal experience.)

Also I think a skunk just died outside my window, oh my god.

Yeah thays wat im thinking cas it happened only after enabling datafix. Disabling datafix in terminal it did nothing and i cant find the option to disable the widget resizing so unless theres a quick fix ill probably just reload my rom. Thanks again

This is when i did "df". Not sure wat /datadata is but maybe this screen shot can tell you more. This is AFTER datafix disable.

Hrm...I can't really tell because I don't know which script from here Steve is using in the ROM. If he used the one in the OP then I'd guess that it's still enabled, that would also explain the lag. Wendigogo has picked up development on the script, and he has made some extremely huge enhancements.

You might want to look through his posts for info about this, or maybe even try one of his stable scripts

Edit: Okay, here's a way to check wtf is is up with your data.

Type:
Code:
su
find /data/data -type l
(That's a L, btw.)
This should show you all the symlinks on that partition. If there are none (or only a couple) I'm *pretty* sure that means the script is disabled.

Also try running this and make sure you get no (or only a few) results:
Code:
su
find /datadata -type l
I think the older version of the script did things a bit differently and created symlinks in the /datadata partition, I could be wrong but I'm just being thorough...

If worst comes to worst the undo script didn't work right and you will have to wipe data/re-flash the ROM

Do to the total disregard for the flashing instructions and some individuals trying to find answers without attempting to find it themselves first. I have come up with a list of things I except to see before I will even acknowledge a question from here on out.

If you have a Question try these first.

    1) You must me on the most recent Devil up build. Questions about AOKP Official builds or older Glitched builds should be referred to the most recent Devil up build first. Verify you are on the right ROM having people complain about having a mesmerize on the Verizon network or not getting data/mms because they flashed a Fascinate ROM is ridiculous. If you don't even know what device your on you shouldn't be flashing custom ROMs.

    2) You should try a redownload of the ROM and Gapps, a wipe of data, dalvik, and cache, a flash and a test of the problem before restoring apps or data. That includes the back this phone up option in the gaps installer. Don't check it that until you test your issue.

    3) If you problem is with a single app delete it and redownload it from Google play.

    4) Read the OP and the last 10 pages of the thread completely, if your answer is there your question will be ignored. It will take you just as long to read those pages as it will for me to find it and copy it or re type it.

    5) Believe me when I say I take a lot of pride in this ROM. We use this ROM everyday. We test every feature before it's released. If you say you are having an issue and we tell you it's not the ROM…. It's you if you try and argue that your posts will be ignored.

More be added if stupidity incurs. Have a nice day.

    Love,
    Steve. :)

Thanks goes out to JT, Sbrissen, Romann, Sixstring, TKGlitch, Efpophis and more may be added.

    Build 31
    Everything I dunno
    Autobrightness smoothing phase 1
Compass for ICS apps like Gmapps
    BigRam Glitch Kernel
DataData fix script (just run "datafix" as root in you terminal and take direction from there if you run out of space)
and more stuff ill add when I remember.

    Build 33
    1) Nav Bug fixed
    2) Init.d fixed for real this time.
    3) Autobrightness Phase 2
    4) Adb over network
    5) Boot audio added

    Build 34
    1) Efpophis fixed notification sounds and ringer sounds, also fixes the boot_audio drop off.
    2) Jpeg-turbo - instead of explaining it just go mess around in your gallery or contacts or anything with jpeg processing. Try and bog it down… I DARE YOU!
    3) Some stability improvements for video and camcorder.
    4) Decreased min auto brightness, and increased the max. I haven't messed with the light sensor poll so if you want it to change faster set the sample interval in custom brightness settings.
    5) Added BLN back to its old Glitchy glory for blinking notifications and all that jazz. Good spot Efpophis.
    6) New settings for Davlik heap size.

For some reason build 35 doesn't like some apps on the SDcard if you are getting Acore FCs logcat the next force close and move the app responsible to the phone memory.

    Build 35.1
    DROPPED HYBRID FOR NOW
Fixed themes and the acore force closes due to apps on the SDcard.

    Build 36-38
Now builds SW kernel fresh in every build
No more wifi scan internal, now wifi scans in background
    Sbrissen fix for split SMS
    maybe more can't remember

    Build 39
Official support for Mesmerize and Showcase.

    Build 40
    Switch to the Devil kernel
    Using Linaro 4.7.1 toolchain

    Milestone 6
Init.d appears to still be broken if you want/need it push this to /init.d

Official build has Glitch and the regular toolchain, Devil has Devil (.99) and the linaro toolchain. Both kernels are interchangable so find which rom/kernel combo works for you and sit tight while we wait/work on Jelly Bean.
    36
We had a meeting last night. Ok so here is the plan. Milestone6 will be aokp's last ics build. We start on jelly bean after the source drops. Milestone6 will come with 2 options the official non linaro build for those with issues, and I will put out a linaro build for those who want it. I will include the latest devil kernel, and from here until jelly bean look too the devil for kernel updates. He had assured me he will be making devil kernels for jb. No etas, we are waiting for the source drop.

    sent from my devil unicorn
    33
Linaro milestone 6 is in the oven it wont be out until tomorrow morning so I can test it. it will come with devil 99 unless there is an issue. As you guys know this is our last ics build so I gave you all the options you could ask for as far as linaro/glitch/devil combinations find the one that works for you and sit tight for JB.
    25
For those of you who aren't on Twitter... (ask yourself why) JT has got the fascinate up and running on CM10 (everything but GPS) he should be posting a build shortly (next few days...) He's also dropping his source (why I love him and also why everything I do is 100% open) so you guys should be getting so CM10 and AOKP love on Jelly bean very shortly. Congrats on staying alive through another update fassy owners...
    23
OP updated with new/last ICS builds. See you guys on the other side.
