Guess I'm going to have to downgrade. I'm on 1.57 and even though I'm S-Off, I've had nothing but trouble trying different Roms. Virgin mobile user here.

You already answered your own non question. You're on hboot 1.57. Definitely have to downgrade as most, if not all jb ROM'S require 1.50 or older.

I personally still am on 1.4 as everything I've ever flashed worked with it, no issues.
Ramjet would recommend 1.50 j-bear, and I trust his recommendation.

Does anyone have any idea what this might mean in the 2/25 changelog:
b0ca41d Revert "config: mahimahi: update for ubuntu"
d76c86e new defconfigs modified for ubuntuphone
fc58a7f config: mahimahi: update for ubuntu
There doesn't seem to be a "mahimahi" device in the list of nightlies but I have to believe it has something to do with the Ubuntu stuff that was just released.

Just found this article which indicates that it may have to do with the original kernel code for the nexus one:
Daniel asked: which name should be used when bringing this code into the mainline kernel? The Google developers who wrote the code used the "mahimahi" name, so the source tree is full of files with names like board-mahimahi-audio.c; they sit alongside files named after trout, halibut, and swordfish. Daniel feels these names might be confusing; for this reason, board-trout.c became board-dream.c when it moved into the mainline. After all, very few G1/ADP1 users think that they are carrying trout in their pockets.
I'm still confused about what that has to do with Ubuntu phone and the current Evervolv builds.

Maybe preludedrew will be kind enough to enlighten us. ;)

I was reading somewhere that Ubuntu is built on CM. So, maybe there are some upstream patches that have been included to make this possible for our device?

Um... if there are some upstream patches, sounds like it should be salmon not mahi mahi? :D (just sayin')

The Ubuntu phone stuff is a fork of CM10.1... A lot of misconception at first that it was it's own system. This was corrected a couple days ago when there was a developers talk about the topic. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/ubuntu-touch-next-generation-os-or-just-another-skin/

What all is required for this rom? I got it up and running on my phone (after much trouble). Now for my wifes phone. hopefully i can do it without all the trouble and hopefully without having to ruu it as i had to do with mine.

at the moment. all that has been done to her phone is rooting it and installing 4ext recovery. s-on. apparently the bootloader is unlocked since i put 4ext on it. it has hboot 1.5

thanks

For those that don't know what evervolv is, Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this rom is community driven and and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors.

Right now the current source we are working on is Jellybean (Android 4.2.x).

    Current version: 3.2.0p1

    Downloads:

    Evervolv nightlies & releases

Below is the "Not working" or items that are buggy list. I'm going to keep it short and simple for the time being and let ya'all figure bugs out, and I will update this.

Items that need attention: (Not working or buggy)

    ** Reset for 3.2 **
    Confirmed so far:
    Camera
    Camcorder
    Bluetooth

Here's a couple links to keep in mind:

It's been really hectic at my house for the holidays and our first baby being born shortly... But I found some time for the next couple days to do some testing and get nightlies running for some devices. If i could get a few people to help me test some builds out. I mainly need to make sure cell/data works properly. The best way is to hit me up on irc: chat.freenode.net #evervolv ( or use www.evervolv.com/chat ). I'll be compiling a build within the next couple minutes and should have something within a few minutes after.

    Thanks

What does the p even stand for?? I've gotta admit, This rom has the most mysterious op, I never know whats going on lol. If someone would like to outline the progress of this rom for me that'd be awesome!, I would just flash it but my screen is screwed so I won't be able to sign back into google or anything.

I keep things to a minimum... for many reasons. The OP is only there for links on releases and nightlies. I know the site is a little rough, it suits it's purpose but we're working on it. If you like to test builds / newest ****. Follow the nightlies, follow any posts I make on here... and hang out on irc with us. The p in '3.2.0p1' refers to 'Preview' as Ramjet pointed out. Consider these builds to be the first you'll receive, they may work well out of the box, others might only have touchscreen. They're meant as a way for us to give ya'all something to mess around with. They could be 100% daily driver ready for some, but aren't 'alpha' quality in our standards. Alpha builds are after preview, these are builds with most everything working, or everything working with maybe some quirks. Beta is the last stage, this means the device is as best as it's going to get, as far as hardware functionality. There is nothing above beta, we're constantly working on stuff for this rom, so there's no point in anything further.

I should probably add most of this explanation to the OP... might do that later. =)

i dont think they will stop supporting this rom. They might only upload nighties for the evo 3d if there's a change in code that will affect our device.

Just had a few compiling issues the past couple of days. Should be taken care of.
