This rom is better as compared to Verizon. You need to flash it using RSD lite (AP FASTBOOT Mode). No issues except faster battery drain.

If you want to use Verizon services, This ROM is NOT to be flashed. Only for use with GSM or CDMA RUIM.

what if my droid 3 xt862 not unblock yet and then i flash this rom (xt833)... can i flash back to the xt862 rom???

Hi, can someone giveme a noob guide to install this rom on my xt862 with 906 update?. Thanks!! I'm lost because all guides are for .890

Let me try to explain clearly

use 1.boot.img 2.cdrom 3.cdt.bin 4.device_tree.bin 5.lbl 6.logo.bin mbm.bin of 906 rom,
7.allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm-.bin 8.ebr 9.mbmloader.bin 10.mbr of 890 rom replace into folder of xt883 rom.
modify md5 of these files in xml file of xt883 rom.
and delete line below.
<step operation="flash" partition="recovery" filename="recovery.img" MD5="36e63a35ef3ca8b8cd3f860400829b1e" />
than use RSDLite flash again.

or flash this rom directly

I've tried this and other methods. Once on .906, it will error out on install of any of the current XT883 ROMs.

with system.img only it boot make all sounds but the screens is always in black, you hear all sounds but not see anything :S

    Yes I did that (XT862 to XT883) with the help of mvp, sd_shadow and many others along the way.

    The first thing you need to know is, are you currently on .906 version or .890 version.

    If you are on the former, you can follow my step-by-step guide.

    1. Install the Motorola Driver

    2. Install RSDLite5.6.exe

    3. Run the 1_CLICK_SBF.exe

    4. Unzip MOTO XT883_ROM 2.3.6-SLNCT-60.3.250.zip to folder ‘A’.
    5. Unzip 1_CLICK_SBF.exe to folder ‘B’.
    6. Copy boot.img, cdt.bin, recovery.img (from folder ‘B’) to folder ‘A’.
    7. Shut down and power up with m+Power.
    8. Select AP Fastboot by using the Volume UP key.
    9. Run RSDLite
    10. Select the XML file in folder ‘A’.
    11. Flash.

    12. Upon reboot,
    a. Plug in the USB as Charge Only
    b. Run Pete's Motorola Root Tools.exe
    c. It will reboot twice. Check for Superuser.apk or the Su.apk on the drawer.
    d. If it fails on step C, execute the run.bat file in motofail to root it.
    e. Make sure you see the Superuser.apk or the Su.apk on the drawer.

    13. Upon reboot, transfer the com.estrongs.android, GMS_XT883_update_r7.zip to the sdcard of the phone.
    14. Install the com.estrongs.android >> Es Explorer.
    15. Open the app. Go to Settings > Enable Root Explorer; Enable Mount File System; Enable Up to Root.

    16. To make 3G signal stable, do the following. Using Es Explorer, go to:
    a. \System\etc\motorola\com.motorola.android.providers.settings\settings.mkitso
    b. Change enable_icc_type_restriction=1 -> enable_icc_type_restriction=0
    c. Wipe in recovery (x+Power)
    d. Reboot.
    e. Go to Wireless Setting > Mobile Network > Select Global. Set the 3G APN.

    17. Using ES Explorer to unzip the GMS_XT883_update_r7.zip. Manually copy the following to the respective folders.
    a. app to /system/app
    b. framework to /system/framework
    c. lib to /system/lib
    d. permissions to /system/etc/permissions

    18. For each of the copied and paste file, change the permissions to
    a. Read: Owner (tick)
    b. Read: Group (tick)
    c. Read: Others (tick)
    d. Write: Owner (tick)
    e. The rest untick

    As I cannot post links, you would have to copy and search for it yourself. For example, XT883_ROM 2.3.6-SLNCT-60.3.250.zip
