It's not stock firmware (from Samsung or whatever...) but it's what I use when I want to really clean my phone before flashing for the first time a new ROM (for example KK)
Plz let me know if it could help you.

Yes, I''ll appreciate to have this link.
I'll give it to our French user, maybe it can help him
Thanks,

Yeah strangest thing is that I was able to flash exact same rom before using same method and now I suddenly cant.
Rom is fine though and CWM.
RU able to go into download mode ? If so, I can send you the link of JVU to be flashed with Odin.

Yes I can enter recovery and download mode no problem. Please throw me a bone since I'm desperate. I used stock 2.3.6. from this grat guide.

Just sent you by PM the link to the ROM and the instructions also. Here goes Odin...

Don't forget to unzip both ROM and Odin into the same folder and then follow instructions :fingers-crossed:

Don't know if this is mentioned or implemented yet (I'm on 14-12) but whenever the phone is in silent mode (no vibration) and a notification is received than with previous roms I've had the menu buttons would light up.

Can this be added?

Two small nitpicks: the OMNI dialer seems to have been replaced with the standard one in the latest release and the quick pulldown settings menu doesn't work.

Mackay Omni vs CM11

Anyone here already experienced CM11 on their device?
Can you specify what's better in this rom?
Which is more stable?
Which is more suitable for a daily driver?
How about those nagging freezes and terrible lags that develop in CM11 after few hours, do you have them here as well?
And the incoming phone terrible delay?

Quick setting pull down works for me. Need to pull on right side (on date)

Sending from my SGS with Tapatalk4

My fault, I forgot that I had a mod installed and that is probably the cause.

In my experience OMNI is much better than CM11. I have neither freezes nor lags whatsoever. And the phone delay is much reduced with this latest version coupled with ghd core gapps 4.4.2 .

I am not familiar with the gapps you're talking about. Link please?

Edit:
I guess these gapps are good as any 4.4.2.?

AMAZING

Let me first say a big thank you to the developer.
AMAZING PIECE OF WORK!!!
smooth
flowing
responding
great!

Coming from CM11, I almost gave up my device!
and now i feel as if it's coming back to life!

I have been reading through these pages and I get the feeling you are quite easy with suggestions and remarks, so here goes:

I would suggest that you add a warning line under first time install, namely:
First boot takes a V E R Y long time, be patience, go and make a coffee

bugs:
settings>Menu>power menu>Screen record - does not "stick"

Even though I set Hangouts to be my default sms app, I am still getting SMS notification in notification bar, whenever I boot my device.

For the life of me, I could not make BLN, any assistance will be most appreciated

Clock widget does not display the weather panel

After first install "bakcup account", under backup and restore says: no back up account, only after reboot, backup account appears correctly.

in Setting>Performance one gets graphic glitches

MAPS: Voice navigation commands are not working at all (tested via BT. Music via BT works fine)
EDIT:
It's not the navigation commands that do not work, but rather the GPS did not lock!
With the new icon, and the fact that it is not blinking while trying to get a fix, how the hell are we supposed to know when GPS is locked?

Feature request:
Can you implement quiet hours?
And how difficult would it be to implement profiles (cm style?)

I have been sharing my CM7/CM9/CM10/CM10.1/CM10.2/CM11-based builds for several devices. MackayROM was first based on CyanogenMod sources, but I decided to move over to Omni as base for my ROM.

About Omni: Omni is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

If you run into errors, I may not be able to solve it!

If you know a solution to a problem, either upload it yourself to Gerrit Code Review or contact me through pm.

The ROM is based on Omni sources with the following changes:
    -Mackay Kernel:
-Set of cherries picked from gerrit (differing by the day)
-Some additional patches I did myself to the source code

Feature request are OK, but remember:
    1. I try to stay close to stock
    2. I will not include additional apps, unless they can be build from source
    3. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself

Although it is possible to enable ART, this is not advisable:
-Takes long to convert from Dalvik to ART on first boot
    -Needs more RAM
    -Can cause soft reboots
But off course, YMMV -> light users may have better luck

    Changelog of 27-Feb-2014
-Omni codebase of 26-Feb (e.g. new bootanimation :))
    -QS Ribbon is gone

-Custom kernels can be used only if specific for OmniROM => currently none

I don't have the space issue myself on Omni. If someone who has this issue can send of logcat when the problem occurs, I may be able to find the solution. Anyway, I have an updated version:

    -Omni codebase of 15-Feb
-New kernel (no more CMA, zram & KSM updates, fix for colour problems)
    -Fixed front camera FC issue
