Standardized Benchmark for Speed

Can we all agree to use a standardized benchmark so that we know we're comparing apples to apples? I hear some numbers being used from SetCPU and also som fps numbers from another application. I remember gbhil recommending that we test the cpu (in the compcache thread) by making the phone calculate Pi to 100 decimal points, or something like that. Well I found an app called BenchmarkPi that does exactly this, although I don't know how many decimal places.

If everyone used BenchmarkPi we could all compare numbers for all our ROM and kernal setups and really be able to determine which one is the fastest.

Right now I have Fresh 1.1 on Gumbo's 2.6.27GK-0.31 kernal and the fastest time I got was 11,903 milliseconds. I want to test the new Pancake ROM and see if it will be faster.

The neat thing about BenchmarkPi is that you can compare your results with the fastest phones out there. The fastest time is 379 ms and there's a Nexus One at #3 with 478 ms. Are you kidding me?

Post your setups and speeds please.

edit: Forgot to add, I have SetCPU running on OnDemand, too.

Darchstar AOSP 2.1, gbhil kernel w/ open gl lite, Dalvik JIT enabled

Edit: Just noticed how much lower my scores are, must be JIT. Can anyone else running JIT confirm this?

Same setup as yours with SetCpu at Ondemand and the other Launcher2.apk. Using less aggressive memory settings in gumbo.sh.

I think someone should make a modification to this app that kills all unnecessary tasks running and prevents them from running while the benchmarking is going on... we would have more consistent benchmarks then.
