Like I wrote in the other thread ... I ordered an Arduino MEGA to have a programmable device to connect to the testpins and see what's coming from there. I don't have a USB<->UART or RS232<->UART adapter sitting around, so the Arduino would solve the problem and come with a value added versatility to repurpose the device for other projects.

Now that we know where the pins are, now that I know (thanks to the Schematics Manual) how the pinout looks like an to where they lead it's just working out how the physical connection is being done.

However, this will not open a boot loader unlock method but in best case provide the "how to connect cables" solution. My idea isn't about finding a way to crack the boot loader (while I can code I have no idea about how the_laser cracked the boot loader) - my idea is to see if there's a cheap way to resurrect hard bricks homebrew-style.

Good question. The real problem is that the guy selling off the phone is in Panama - so shipping costs can easily be the bigger part of the overall price here.

Another unofficial & in the end of the day,we the x8 user dont want to unlock the bootloader are the one will not get nothing because almost all devs now focus on custom kernel...I support your courage to develop more our loving shakira but how about stock kernel???And some people here including me dont know the process of donating also alertpay...

If i could afford to replace my current x8, i would more than happily donate my phone, but im 17 and i live on my own at the moment, so finding enough money to buy a new phone or a friend with a spare android phone lying round is a little difficult to come by...

His device can't get bootloader unlocked.every device with production date above 10W29 has special protection that doesn't allow bootloader unlocking and hardbrick occurs of its attempted.

I do not know what to say, first dedii support, and secondly to atchojan, if it is true that the xperia x8 has some limitations, but say for example, the galaxy ace samsumg is ARMv6, kernel 2.6.35 and has Gingerbread official, not in a x8, SE launches smarthphones very good, but it is their strategy, launch and forget the one above, I think and believe, that the x8, despite having 2 years of life still has to offer ,if only we put our minds a little more, maybe see a Linux 2.6.38 on our x8, as to the SEMC debrand ENGINE, I know the problem is the DRM, but I think it is possible to port, so as they do with games ... It's just my opinion ... I would donate, but I am a minor.
