New boot animation....

Not my work.

Not responsible for borked phone. Use at your own risk.

Make nandroid back up just in case.

Download bootanimation.zip

Navigate to system/media rename bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bak or otherwise back up.

Place new (downloaded) bootanimation.zip in system/media change permissions to rw-r-r.

Reboot.

Profit.

This is the boot animation MINUS the boot logo.

A couple questions. First being I have a droid maxx rooted on the latest 4.4 build with write protection disabled. Would changing the bootanimation cause the phone to not boot up? I've seen this with the droid bionic in the past. I am not a novice with changing bootanimations as I have changed hundreds of them with my OG DROID and Galaxy Nexus.

Second question: do you have or know where to get the original Moto x Boot animation? I found a thread here with a dead link.
