I think you forgot to edit the title of his thread to show this is build 34.

---------- Post added at 08:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:11 PM ----------

Anyone still having the problem that I saw starting in build 32, where when you are on wifi, connected to a router or hotspot requiring authentication, and then the tablet sleeps for a while, and then you turn it back on, it will not authenticate. You have to turn wifi off, then on, and it will then authenticate fine.

Earlier in this thread there are some comments about how it was a known bug, I was hoping it was gone in build 34, but I've had it twice.

Anyone else?

Same issue here, Build 34, clean install, I did not seem to have this issue on 32 myself, which I came from, but 34, does in fact have it. Bummer.

The wifi issu is still there, just set the wifi to turn off when screening is off and it wont reconnect. I have a wpa2 network at home.

I wonder if this is a problem in the AOKP stock build 34, or just in the Galaxian Soup build. It would be nice to know so the dev would know where to look.

Just installed this on my 8.9 tab. So far so good. This is my first ROM outside of stock+motley kernel+personal customization. I wanted to check out ICS. Very satisfied. Can't wait for the cameras to be functional.

Excellent work!

We know about the wifi disconnecting issue. It is caused by the wifi driver we use on both of our roms (AOSP and AOKP). We use this driver because this fixed tethering. Motley is working on fixing this issue...

milestone 5 is out and its said it fixes the issue...seems like our issue might be differently related then.
can we expect a milestone 5 soup release soon? basically it adds the one feature i am missing right now. i could then be happy with the milestone for quite some time ;)

Thats interesting, where does it say it fixes the wifi disconnecting issue? I'm not sure if the official AOKP for p7310 uses the same driver as we use.

nycbjr builds the AOKP rom, so i will ask him if he has time to build a new version. As far as i know, he is busy with his new toy at the moment.

---------- Post added at 08:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ----------

I talked to nycbjr and if everything goes well, we will post new build today.
FYI I highly doubt it will fix the wifi disconnecting issue.

Cool looking forward.
I don't even have the wifi issues so it's fine for me ;)
just thought I read somewhere over at rootzwiki that the issue might have been fixed.

Same here, i have lost wifi connection maybe 4 times in the last month, so it doesn't bother me much. This seems to happen only when there is low wifi signal or if the wifi signal is lost while the tablet sleeps, we can reproduce the issue, so this helps in troubleshooting. There seems to be one more side effect with this issue, the driver seems to keep android os process awake sometimes and this causes battery drain. At the moment i'm using a internal test build (AOSP), the wifi disconnecting issue seems to be fixed, battery life seems to be a little better, but there are problems with tethering again.

Having wifi issues, needs reboot to connect to wifi when coming out of sleep.

Also battery drain. Cm9 currently better, much less bugs

and still no update for 3g from galaxian soup.
    oh man...

i'm pretty sure most of the devs have a real life, job & better things to do than build roms for each release...
be patient. its free! if you don't like it figure out how to build and compile the rom yourself.
sorry if i sound kinda mean but people complaining about devs not releasing stuff, when the devs do it in their own time and for free kinda pisses me off...

With the greatest of respect, I did read all the posts, I've been following since the beginning. I was wondering with the AOKP folks being on build 32, whether or not we would be getting an upgrade.

Yes, I have a concern like everyone else about the camera but I know that's a problem across all ROM's. However if this one wasn't being developed, then it would not have a camera...not ever. There is no law that a ROM has to be developed forever.

We've been working on the camera for all gtab 8.9s (we would immediately share with all rom builders), but its not as easy as snapping your fingers. I personally have spent 12+ hours attempting to adapt the ICS wrapper (which has little to no documentation and isn't even for our SOC).

Blame samsung for their lack of expediency in releasing the source code or a rom. Once that happens (or a miracle of programming genius) we will add the camera support post haste.

For the record we will continue to develop this and the AOSP rom (and perhaps another), we have the experience to bring you quality. We hope you continue to appreciate our effort's, my build env is fixed so updates will come faster.

    Ciao
