CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.3 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Code:
#include
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 *
 * Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
 * cause of male impotence.
 */

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Just a list of what I have found so far.

No root but this should be fixed in the next update.

External SD card doesn't work.

Screenshots don't work.

If you hit the voice search button on the stock keyboard you need to wait for Google search to force close before you can bring the keyboard up again. I would recommend people disable voice typing under languages and input

The ROM however is silky smooth, once the SD card screenshot and root issues it will be usable every day.

The Internet
Is there an official status page anywhere telling what is not yet working? There used to be one by team hacksung but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. Thanks for your hard work guys!

Did anyone test the alarm, is this feature in working order?

Any confirmation of success / failure will be appreciated.

    I think there are enough flashaholics here who would appreciate it :D

    Some patches we merge are sometimes quickly reverted + not everything is merged, and not everything is meant to be merged + it would cause 9001 confusion with bug reports on builds we don't know what was in or not.

    So please, no kangs for now.

    EDIT: I'll post a new build tomorrow, with a small surprise. What is it? All I'm going to say is that I've spent some time today fixing the last few issues of Focal :) I hope to have the repos going official tomorrow. Other than that, root will be fixed, home button will be fixed, and storage should be fixed.
    2am here, good night :)

    tomorrows nightly will allow you to modify the button backlight timeout via settings -> buttons.
    you'll also be able to disable the backlight completely.

    Great job as always Codeworkx,

    How about a list of things working and not working - similar to the one for CM 10.1 nightly builds.

    Will help drive adoption which in turn will help weed out more bugs.

    we're working on it.
    if everything goes well then there will be a known issues page at the official cm wiki.
