I have a GN N7000. I have it running on the AT&T network here in California. The problem I am having is that I can't send photo txt messages. I can send and receive regular txt messages, but i can't take a picture and send it to my wife.

Anyone know what is going on?

The same thing happened to me till I figured out a solution.
turn off your WiFi when sending pics or video mms...
Also.. the pics won't download either with the WiFi on..
The plain txt will... but not the pics...
Bottom line.. turn off WiFi.. Send pics mms.. thru 3g...

Turn WiFi back on if needed..
Works for me... good luck

Thanks for the response, I just tried that method. Still doesn't work for me. :( What APN settings are you using?

I find that IF.. if I start the mms with wifi on... and send... then relalize that it ain't sending.... then turn it off ...it STILL. Won't send.....
I find that I have to slip into airplane mode.. then back out of airplane mode .. in order to get the 3g to send....
Or maybe even a reboot.. then it sends no problem...

So.. try this.... turn off wifi....
Restart your phone....
Leave wifi off....
Send a pic message....
I bet you it does go thru....
Same with receiving....
Wifi must be off on mine to download the pic..
Just in case... here's my settings I am using..
Good luck

Are you on a stock rom?
I tried the suggestions and had marginal success. Basically, I can send photos if they are a very small size. (640x480). I can't just take a pic and send as mms.

yes I am stock rom and stock messaging app..
I just open a message.. choose "to"... click on paperclip....
take the shot with camera or pick an existing photo..
the message says.." picture too large.. resizing".. then it inserts the automatically resized picture in the message and hit send...
IF, & I say this works for me.. IF my wifi is connected.. the pic will NOT send....
I have to disconnect my wifi for the pic to send....
it's how mine works,,,,
stock GN7000 at&t sim card.. on the 2G a month tiered plan..
good luck....

im just going to say it again (and im not looking for an argument)

wifi on or off should have NOTHING TO DO WITH MMS. im using the pta apn currently and i send 20-30 mms a day while on wifi.... ive also used the same one that comes stock on a samsung infuse and again never had to turn wifi off. there has to be something you all arent entering correctly. and again remember you have to use the correct apn for the data plan you use. i think ive set up around a hundred of these that have come in my shop and none have had to have wifi turne off to send or receive mms...

I agree with kawgirlval69. I am on stock GB rom with franco.kernel v10 and i have no problem sending mms wifi on or off. Your apn has to match your plan AND your sim card. It also has to match the the data plan att has coded in to your account. You can't use a LTE apn with a non LTE sim card. The link 2 or 3 posts above is a great thread from Jade Eyed Wolf about setting up the correct apn. Read it. It works.

and again it just doesnt have a thing to do with wifi... wrong radio...and the way it works does not work any way with how mms works... in the past 22 years ive worked for some big name phone manufacturers board level as a tech so i might know if this is a possibility.... now there is a coincidence but thats all it is..theres something either not set properly in the phone or its not right on your carriers end period....

    Hey jimmbomb, try this!

This is what has been working flawlessly for me first on my att Dell Streak5, and now on my international Note also on att. There is no LTE in my area (my town is still stuck on 2g). This Note isn't LTE anyway, so no reason to set up LTE apn.

Enter ONLY the fields listed. If I show CAPS, you type CAPS. I have read that UPPER/lower case makes a difference! If I don't list a field LEAVE IT BLANK!!!

    Name ATT US MMS
    APN wap.cingular
    Username WAP@CINGULARGPRS.com
    Server http://device.home
    MMSC http://mmsc.cingular.com
    MMS proxy 66.209.11.32
    MCC 310
    MNC 410
    APN type internet + mms

Thank me if it works! Good Luck!!!

..Well Mr Skywalker and Ms Kawgirl......
I need to tank you both very much...

With your subtle insistance that I was messing up.. I finally agreed that YES I was indeed missing something..
I got a PM from a very helpful member who help me even further...
And I am happy to say... that I used skywalkers settings here in this quoted post..
first I deleted all the ones I had...
then made only 2 APN's like skywalker has here...
then made sure only the ATT one was ticked,,,,
    and did a re-boot...
    well guess what???
I can Now.. send mms pics WHILE connected to wifi....
AND receive mms pics too while CONNECTED to wifi...
AND as a bonus... my data speeds have increased like you wouldnt believe...
According to speedtest app... my data speed as trippled!
twice as fast as my homes wifi...
    OWWOW..
    thanks kawgirl.. and skywalker!!!
    thanks again!

PS... thanks to you too Krazyman for chiming in too with your help... you posted this as I was typing my gratitude proclamation to our hero's on this thread...
thanks to you too for your willingness to help as well..
we couldnt get our sh*t right if folks like you all didnt help out by NOT preaching 'search' search' search' and not link up..
