I have combined the features of vodafone 845 Mr Edition 2.01 and The Celestial Teapot RLS4d to create Pro Celestial

Features
Android 2.1
LauncherPro v0.8.3
Rooted with latest Superuser Permissions
Added Darktremor A2SD 2.7.5.2 + swappiness bug fix
Hacked Vending.apk (Market)
Added HTC_IME
Added busybox with symlinks
Added nano (texteditor)
Added bash
Added tun.ko module for OpenVPN users
Overclock support to max of 748 mhz (use setcpu from market not included in ROM)
Massive APN list

Changes
  • New Market Hacked (autofocus and other resolution)
  • Market no longer auto updates

Bugs
  • initial start comes with force closes ignore them everything works great.
  • wipe of ext3 with recovery doesn't work propperly use repair SD:ext in recovery and wipe ext after repair

More Performance
  • compcache.sh enable
  • a2sd zipalign
All perfomance changes must be used in a terminal or with ADB shell using a SU permission.

Installatieguide:

Install Superboot (via Windows PC)
  • Enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down 'volume down' and 'End call' (red) then powering on your device.
    Note: The hourglass (zandloper) stays on the home screen
  • WINDOWS - double click 'superboot-windows.bat'
  • Phone will startup, seems to hang and eventually reboots itself.

Root the V845 (via Windows PC)
  • Download AmonRA Recovery 1.6.2: DOWNLOAD (MediaFire Pro) / MIRROR (CoBlitz / ROMraid) and extract the zip file
  • Enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down 'volume down' and 'End call' (red) then powering on your device.
    Note: The hourglass (zandloper) stays on the home screen
  • WINDOWS PC - (ensure the V845 is connected via USB) double click 'install-recovery-windows.bat'
  • Remove battery and start phone (not sure how to do this otherwise)

Recovery Mode
  • Backup SD card
  • Enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down 'volume up' and 'Start call' (green) then powering on your device.
  • Choose “Partition sd card” (control via DPAD):
    -> “Partition sd card”
    -> swap-size = 0 MB
    -> Ext2-size = 512 ext
    -> FAT32-size = Remainder (automatic setting)
    -> Confirm formatting/partitioning via DPAD (20 sec.)
    -> SD:ext2 to ext3
    -> Confirm EXT upgrade via DPAD (5 sec.)
    -> Volume Down to go to main menu
    -> Choose Power off

Custom ROM install
  • Download your custom ROM: Of course you choose the Vodafone 845 Mr Edition ROM
  • Add the sd card in a card reader and copy the Custom ROM zip file to SD card (FAT32 partition).
  • Again enter recovery mode by turning your device on while holding down 'volume up' and 'Start call' (green) then powering on your device.
  • Go to “wipe” where you select:
    -> Wipe data/factory reset
    -> Wipe Dalvik-cache
    -> Wipe SD:ext partition
    Confirm each step above via DPAD
    -> Volume Down to go to main menu
  • Choose “Flash zip from sdcard” and if everything is okay you can select the Custom ROM zip file. Confirm via DPAD twice to install (just wait 2 minutes to finish)
    -> Choose Power off
  • Restart Phone and that’s it

Ok - Thank you for your work and your time! It´s awesome how fast this little nice phone was rooted ;-)
At this time I don´t have the heart to flash this new custom rom but I think I will do it in the future.

You don't have to be scared if you don't like the custom rom you could always go back to the orignal..

another user has made this installation guide.. the majority of user that are going to flash this rom don't know the fastboot or adb commands ;-)

Pull the battery is just dat easy :D

not working for my phone

I have installed the new ROM but when i start up my phone i get this error message "process com.huawei.android.customAPKsHidden has stopped unexpectadely,
How can i go back to the original???/
PLZ help

upgrade error

yes i did. I only got an error when upgrading the sd card from 2 to 3. it said i should use ad smthng. What coul;d be wrong as my phone cannot work now

Have you been upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1? because you don't have to do a wipe if you are upgrading..


please repartition your sd-card ext 512 no swap en fat rest.
then wipe data/factory, dalvik-cache, sd-ext en then upgrade ext2 to ext3..
then use a cardreader to put the 1.1 rom on your sdcard..

reboot back in recovery and flash the rom.. if this don't work please try 1.0..

Thank you for the installation guide, now I can also test your rom ;) Btw. I'm really impressed by the speed of the phone.. Dozenz of apps open and it still runs.. Also iGO worked ok even with music player in the background..

sd ext

maybe my problem lies with creating an ext2 and ext3. My memory card is just in one format. How do i do this?

Did you follow the installation instruction and installed a custom recovery? is your anwser to this YES then we can continu ;)..

turn your phone off.. hold on to the call button + volume up + powerbutton... you now see AmonRA recovery..
go to partition sdcard --> partition SD.. --> 0 swap --> 512 ext and remaining fat.. after this is complete choose SD: ext2 to ext3..

if this is down put the memorycard in a cardreader put my rom on it and start recovery again.. choose Wipe --> Wipe data/factory res --> Wipe Dalvik-cache return to main menu and choose Flash zip from sdcard choose my zip and wait..

    or

    Download adwlauncher, I googled adwlauncher 1.3.6 apk and found it on a mediafire page. but surely can be found elsewhere.

    Then rename it to adw.apk and put on the root on the sdcard

    go to the default android browser and type file:///sdcard/adw.apk

    Install and reboot.

    It will ask you what launcher you want to use.. pick adw of course.

    Working again.

    please start google maps and check if gps icon is there? in gingerbreadmod that i personaly use there is a gps icon.

    Oke what to do is go to recovery
    repartion your sd card .
    after put the celestial teapot on the sd. http://www.mediafire.com/?85giux8d3iou375 download here
    go back in recovery do wipe--> Factory reset and dalvik cache
    now put volume up and push flash from sd card and push celestial teapot and install

    Now let it boot.. Can durn longer than 5 min so dont get stressed.. (if you got bootloop after 10 min post another qoute)
