P6800 v1.3 build is now out. Check out the OP for link and instructions

Had some issues with the P6810 build, I apologize for owners of this model, the v1.3 will be available by tomorrow, hopefully.

Any chance we'll see a Tablet UI version or is there a way to enable it? I think on the Nexus 7 a simple DPI tweak enables the Tablet UI. Not sure if that's the case on this rom.

There's some things about the phone/hybrid UI that I'm not too fond of, but I can get over it if a Tablet UI version is too much trouble.

It's a great rom regardless. :D

EDIT: NVM on the tablet UI question. I see making this rom a "Paranoid Android" port is on your to do list.

I also tested the P6800 1.3 build and want to thank Androguide.fr for his great effort, making an already excellent CM10 Nexus-mod even better!

I already answered that question a couple times in the thread already, please check previous pages next time.

To switch to regular tablet ui, just edit this line in your build.prop :
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=213 ====Change it to===> ro.sf.lcd_density=160
Then reboot and voilà.

Hope you enjoy the rom, even in regular tablet mode.

EDIT : Do not count on a PA port too soon as I currently don't have my tab, it's being repaired (no idea how long it'll take).
Attempting to port Paranoid Android would mean a lot of blind testing, which can't be done without actually having the device with you, unlike how I'm doing with this Nexus 7.7 rom. Moreover, i'm not sure I got enough skills to successfully port that awesome hybrid rom. I will definitely try, but no promises on the results.

Ok guys,

I understood some testers think the new bootanimation is too small, and I also understood that P6810 owners are waiting for the v1.3.
So here are some cwm addons that hopefully will help both sides :

- P6800 owners can choose the boot animation size they want
- P6810 owners can try the new boot animation and choose its size while waiting for the new build.

Here they are, you can also find these in the OP :

- 640x640 (stock bootanim in v1.3) : http://www.mediafire.com/?scvhd5lqlb65hpb
- 720x720 : http://www.mediafire.com/?kb811xzd6i6a4a7
- 800x800 : http://www.mediafire.com/?0n47hln126jfn7b
- 880x880 : http://www.mediafire.com/?txog3gm1dqgwp4f
- 960x960 : http://www.mediafire.com/?grerccd8hlexap1

Just flash those in cwm recovery over any version of Nexus 7.7, and you're good to go.
I'll try to make it display in portrait mode soon, as reports are it displays in landscape.

I'm so sorry Androguide.fr as I couldn't be an earlier tester for P6800 because of time difference and I was sleeping on that time you PM'ed me. Anyway, downloading now and will test it later on! ;)

Update:
Boot up fine, nice animation though!
More fluid than v1.2 and this time I do feel more like Nexus 7 than a ripped off without any tweak before..
So far, so good! :D

Sorry to b a pain, but...

...Nope, gapps means google apps so obviously no Polaris. Neither is it in the rom.
However, if you really need it, I guess it is legal to take the apk off your tab with like App Backup & Restore (found on the market for free) and then try to install it on this rom since you bought the tab and it's included in stock. I don't guarantee it'll work, neither that you'e allowed to do that, it is very likely not to work anyway.

Hope it helped.

Thank you,

Could I try this technique from Zeta?

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1757063&page=19

For PolarisOffice users:
1. Download this and extract
2. Move libpolarisoffice.so to system/lib
3. Move PolarisOffice.apk to system/app + install

Thank you:good:

Do I really need to run the SuperCharger to have the best experience?

What exactly does it do?

Thank you for this great rom.

I'd like to know this too. Read around about how its a memory manager and supposed to make things snappier. Ran the script and went through all the options and rebooted. Ran again and it says I'm only 50% supercharged. Noticed that Chrome scrolling wasn't working as well after running it so I reinstalled without running script. I'm probably not doing something right as I've never used supercharger before.

Having the same issue with the supercharger script, it doesn't charge up 100%, have tried numerous times but not avail.

Running the Supercharger should definitely improve the overall responsiveness, performance and multi-tasking of your tab.
Basically, this script fixes and reconfigures the OOM grouping, priorities and lowmemorykiller values. It will completely change the way your device manages the ram.
Without it, your device's memory management is configured kinda like a Linux pc when it shouldn't.
This will incredibly reduce launcher redraws (see those ugly traces an icon leaves behind when you drag and drop it moving quickly ? That's the redraws).

About the "50% Supercharged" issue :
This issue is not really one, you actually get 100% of the supercharge, even if the script shows 50%.
In fact, ics and jb don't get their ADJ permissions from the build.prop or local.prop, as Gingerbread and older versions used to do. These permissions are now hardcoded directly into /framework/services.jar
So in fact, the other 50% of SuperCharge you get on ics/jb come from the patched services.jar (the patch consist of modifying the smali code to rearrange priorities, especially launcher priority).

Do not worry I patched services.jar in v1.3, so run the V6 SuperCharger Script and you'll get all the improvements you can get from it.
Here's a quote about this from Zeppelinrox (author of that awesome script) :
So the script alone can only give you a 50% SuperCharge Level with only the V6 SuperCharger script.
Patching services.jar gives you the other 50% along with a SuperCharged Launcher!
I recommend you guys head to Zeppelinrox's original thread if you wan to learn more about the V6 SuperCharger Script.

Is this compatible with the ExtSd2InternalSd mod? http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1772234

cause it runs by modding the int.d will it overwrite the nexus 7.7 int.d tweak?

You can use the script in this thread, no problem, it should not mess up with the init.d scripts that are already there, it should only add a script that will run at each boot (this is what init.d is made for) that will swap extsd with internal sd, leaving the scripts that are already into init.d intact.

Didn't test it though, so if you try, please make sure to share the results with us.
Cheers.

This rom will turn your Galaxy Tab 7.7 into a Nexus7 with a 7.7" Super Amoled screen
It's based on locerra's latest cm10 build, kudos to him.

    nexus77playground.jpg

    What's in the rom ?

    - Nexus 7 Phablet UI layout
    - Beats-Audio modified DSP Manager for a greater sound experience.
    - init.d tweak scripts : better responsiveness, faster sdcard, faster sqlite3 database write, TCP buffers tweak, lagfix, more to come next time.
    - Included the -=V6 SuperCharger Script=- more informations and instructions on how to run below.
    - Patched services.jar file to reduce redraws and increase overall smoothness.
    - Some Thunderbolt's cfs and touchscreen tweaks
    - Slaidy-Boost tweak scripts
    - Zipalign at each boot
    - A lot of build.prop tweaks, I will make a list of them and their effects soon.
    - Busybox v1.19.4
    - Optimized su binary to work best with the V6 SuperCharger Script
    - Absolutely zero bloatware (except Trebuchet), as close to vanilla experience as possible (can make a flashable add-on for apollo if needed)
    - Nexus 7 stock apps by google (Magazines, books, music, chrome, ears, maps, etc...)
    - Homemade bootanimation
    - Nexus 7 stock launcher
    - Nexus 7 ui sounds and animations (not sure if they really differ from cm10)
    - More to come...

    How to install ?

If you are running stock firmware and want to flash this rom, please do the following to avoid the risk of BRICK

    - DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING
    - Flash this rom in cwm
    - Reboot recovery
    - Wipe /data (factory reset) , cache and dalvik cache
    - Flash this rom in cwm again
    - Flash the gapps in cwm
    - Reboot and enjoy

If coming from cm9, i'd recommend you wipe data in cwm first, before doing the following.
If coming from locerra's cm10 then just do the following :

    - Wipe Cache
    - Wipe Dalvik cache
    - Flash the rom (cwm)
    - Flash the gapps (cwm)
    - Reboot and enjoy !

How to run the -=V6 SuperCharger Script=- ?

Zeppelinrox - the author of this script - doesn't allow any other sort of redistribution of his script other than as it is.
Thus, I cannot provide you with an already "SuperCharged" build of Nexus 7.7 ; you'll have to run the script by yourself.

Do not worry it is really easy to do, just follow the instructions :

    Easy way :

    - Download Script Manager from the market
    - Go to /system/xbin/ and load supercharger in Script Manager
    - Run the script as root (skull and crossbones "Su" icon - it turns green when selected)
    - follow the on-screen instructions and choose the options you like.

    OR

    Fast way :

    - open Terminal Emulator app
    - type the following (each end of line means you have to hit enter) :
    Code:
    su
    cd /system/xbin
    sh supercharger
    - Then follow the on-screen instructions and choose the options you want

    Disclaimer
I cannot be held responsible for any damage of any kind made to your device while flashing this rom.
Always be careful when flashing, always think twice, and always read other users feedback before flashing.
This rom is experimental and I currently have no tab to work on, my P6810 is being repaired. I've not even tried this rom yet :crying:
So please understand that I really do this work for the community, and that not having a tab to test on can be very annoying when making roms.

Ok guys, new builds for both models are uploading right now.

I'd need two testers, one for P6800, one for P6810, in order to make sure the builds work before releasing.
Please pm me with your model and your gtalk (if you have one) asap if you are willing to be an alpha-tester.
Will release tonight after testing has been done. (gmt+1 brussels time)

    Here's the (temporary ?) changelog for v1.3 :

    - init.d tweak scripts for : better responsiveness, faster sdcard, less lagg, zipalign each boot, faster sqlite3 database write...
    - Patched services.jar for reduction of redraws and a smoother experience
    - Added the -=V6 SuperCharger Script=- that should make your tab fly. You'll have to run it manually once though, instructions coming in OP.
    - Added Thunderbolt scripts (mainly cfs tweaks)
    - New homemade bootanimation
    - A lot of new build.prop tweaks, will make a list soon.
    - Removed Chrome temporarily as it didn't work out-of-the-box
    - Added stock Nexus 7 launcher (in addition to Trebuchet)

    Paranoid android

I believe some of you might be happy to know that a (mostly) working Paranoid Android port for Galaxy Tab 7.7 is uploading right now !

P6810 users will be the first to be served, but P6800 will come just a few hours after that, the time for upload and a last safety testing.

Thanks to Faridaizuddin and Isherif, two dedicated testers without whom this wouldn't have been possible. And of course mad props to Locerra without whom even only JB on Galaxy Tab 7.7 wouldn't have been possible ! Check the Development forum for the new thread, and enjoy :D

EDIT : The thread is up and so is the P6810 download link, enjoy

OK guys, the Paranoid Android porting is going better than I thought. Still lots of bugs but at least it boots.

I guess you can expect a (very) experimental public release within a few days. Stay tuned !
