That's true, however I can't edit my posts from the app.
It's the new one, the one that in alpha.

Hello, I love your app and have been very content with it so I haven't checked the thread in a while. I'm on 5.10 and went to update to the current version and it seems to install as a separate app. Is there anyway to transfer my settings from the previous version to the current? And should I update to the most current or 5.3.7? I saw people were having root issues. Thanks in advance.
Go to settings -> modify settings -> export. All your themes, bookmarks and setting are gonna be saved into a xml file. Now install the new MiXplorer version and open that xml, choose import and enjoy

Sorry for correcting you, but it's a .micfg file, not xml.

Go to Root then hold on the tab and select Set as default. When my I open mixplorer, The default location is in SD card, how can I change it to internal memory?
No need to change it. I have app_87 & sdcard_rw and everything is working fine.@Mr Hootan.
I hope you could clarify something for me, it's regarding file permissions.
If, for example, I were to edit the build prop file on the fly, the permissions change from root/root to app#../sd....
I usually change this back to root/root before i reboot. I wonder if this step is necessary? I have attached the relevant pictures for illustration.
ps: This is hands down the best file explorer I have ever used. Very grateful for this application. Thank you.
But there is a trouble for most people in China who can't connect to google drive when they want to add language package or theme package.
Thank you Sir, for clarifying that. When i replace a file for example LatinIme.apk the permission shown is root/sd card, i change it to root/root, is that necessary or can that be skipped as well? Thanking you in advance for your time.Go to Root then hold on the tab and select Set as default.

All system apps that I added (into priv-app) have root/root but if it ain't broke, don't fix itThank you Sir, for clarifying that. I don't see how security can be a concern. He currently has random machines using the username which is the adminstrator of the system running the server. A username with no password.
When you set up a server, do you have to tell the server which usernames are allowed to be used from a remote client? So a new username is not automatically usable?
Even with that, and the extra awkwardness of him using a Live USB without persistence, he said he runs a script to start the server. Shirley the configuration file you remember is read when the server is started, not when the host boots. It can't take more than three years to learn enough "sed" to make the script modify the configuration file before launching the server.
There was a beta posted in November that you may want to check out if you haven't already, none of us for sure know if development is at an end, what we do know is that Hootan the developer can be away from xda for long periods of time, and as I said before the app in its current state is well worth the price.I try this file explorer and like it very much. I always wanna support the dev's and buy the app or send few bucks. The problem here it looks like the project was dead.
When new Android version is released like Android 15 but over a half year no updates it feels wrong to support it.
On Google TV I only find a bug (scan lan network storage crash), rest works fine, on tablet and on smartphone.

I apologize,
I write here using google translate because English is not my first language.
Something will probably be lost in translation.
Thanks, tonight I will try ftpclient from fdroid as a temporary alternative.
The point here is not the structure of the NAS OS, but what I believe to be a simple and widespread access method already working on other machines on the network.
It's not prying:
A server booted from a Live USB is an interesting project that allows you to not have an OS installed, with the possibility of using a USB partition for persistent storage.
In this way the main HD is not touched, it offers the advantage of being able to change OS at will and so on.
In my case I use it as a server in a home environment, there are dedicated distros oriented towards security or the management of other things.
A little thing with pros and cons, I'm pretty happy that it works.
Going into detail, the more changes are required to Live and the more scripts and other things need to be loaded and modified,
I stopped at the educational part since the system worked for my needs.
A "script" ceases to be "simple" when it exceeds my perhaps limited capabilities and I can't get results.
sshfs [user@]host:[dir] mountpoint [options]
The project is far from dead. HootanParsa regularly takes extended breaks from XDA, months at a time sometimes, but is brilliant with catching up with feature requests/bugs/etc. when they return. For the extent at which most users will use MiXplorer, everything still works great. Obviously there may be some niche issues and the odd request here and there but everything works more than fine, for the most partLooks like the project is dead.
I was about to buy it (support the project) untill I read when the last update was released.
Ok guys, thanks. I'm feeling lazy to search and read rn
Help me be my search engine one more time, any other recommended root file manager for a14?
Hello and good morning, @ledagiwMy guy, my savior. Thanks

Xda search is junk, can't search if not login (i browse on incognito), timeline is messed up
Also i didn't mean to offend anyone, since the burger isn't available
It's irrelevant why you don't want to follow the rules but if you don't it will eventually lead to consequences to your account. I'm convinced this is something you want to avoid.1. Search before posting.

Your post is no. #43,838. That's a strong indicator for the passion and long standing development and support from the developer - despite some breaks in between. You'll have difficulties to find another app having a longer history than MiXplorer. And of course, I cannot speak for the developer, but I'm quite sure, there will be updates in the future. So there are good reasons to support the developer now and in the future.Looks like the project is dead.
I was about to buy it (support the project) untill I read when the last update was released.
You said "use an alternative" in your post.
Is there any possibility to open a different viewing app out of MiXExplorer instead of ImageViewer which would allow swiping through the whole folder?
If I click "open with" and choose Google Photos for example only the one picture opened opens in Google Photos and I cannot swipe through the whole folder like I can in ImageViewer.
Go ahead, ban me. Reason: not use search function
That would be the greatest joke of all time to tell my grandkids
And don't be weak by deleting post instead of addressing the issue, this site obviously horde justice warrior, with the guy inisiated the quarrel, yet you only delete mine.
