Sorry to say, I ve been using Faux for a while (with Alien) and for the first time I have started to get random reboots wit 0.1.7. So I am going back to 0.1.6 . Same happened when I gave a try to The Dark Side and updated to 0.1.7. I thought it was the Rom but now I realize it's 0.1.7, plus the GPS goes wild with both Roms. I've been very proud of the stability of my setup .. Too bad

Had to flash back to the stock kernel..just wasn't very impressed with the battery life of this kernel. After flashing back I immediately noticed an improvement in battery life. I should also add that I don't overclock at all.

Me too :( Been giving it a go since 1.2 and always find that I love the speed, CIFs support etc. but battery life is substantially worse. Given that stock isn't exactly a slouch, I go with battery life.

However mind you I've only ever tried this kernel with redpill and alien, coudl be to do with the way the kernel and ROM interacts, who knows.

I think you mean outdated, right?

So are you saying that it is incorrectly displaying the number of cores because it is an older program? I would really like to confirm wether or not my atrix is using both cores. Could you suggest another program that could do this? It wouldn't even have to be a benchmark program, it could just show CPU info.

Cheers

I downloaded Quadrant Standard, opened it went to system information and it says Cores: 1, ran the full benchmark, submitted scores, went back to system information and it updated cores to 2.

Give that a try.

I just tried that but it still says only 1 core.......strange

I'm currently using the gobstopper rom with the ATT radio 1.77.30 and faux 123's 0.1.7 kernel.

Could the rom or radio cause this?

Not sure, I've never used GobStopper, I'm running Alien v4 with AT&T, the same radio and kernel.

I know there are other places for benchmarks, but what is your quadrant score anyways? I am getting around 3300 with this current setup (average of 3 runs from 3000,3400,3500). If our scores are similar this would probably mean that the same number of cores would be used right? (guessing here tho).

Dear faux123, would you please help to create a overclock kernel for Hong Kong rom. Due to HK device cannot flash AT&T rom through RSD; So i can't flash your ATT OC kernel.

My quadrant score from a couple tests I've run are 3600+, getting higher every time I ran it.

I also switched over to Aura from Alien.

Hmm weird. My quadrant standard states that I have 2 cores and i haven't flashed any new kernel. I am on the .30P radio with faux's stock 4.5.91 Rom. I was thinking of either going through with flashing this or eternity projects kernel after flashing a new Rom, perhaps alien v4.

Thx faux123, I will try the "INTL mbr_1100 original Kernel Version" Btw, may I know the different between INTL mbr_d00 & INTL mbr_1100?

If I'm not mistaken it has to do with the version of tegra processor. But I could be wrong on that, never looked into it. Also I found out the problem when downloading Faux123's stock Kernel ---the Multiupload is broken and stops at 93%, all other download links on that page work fine to my knowledge.

I have been facing Phone FCs using v0.1.6 and v0.1.7.. No issues at all using v0.1.3.. Running ORFR eval's system.img.

Flashed eval's ORFR radio... Same issue..

Thanks for testing that, appreciate the help.

It must just be incorrectly reporting the cores since I too seem to be getting around the same score and increasing as i go up.

cheers,

Flash back to stock kernel before flashing Alien ROM, then after you have that installed, come back here and flash this kernel. I believe stock kernels are listed in the OP of this thread as well (at least I know the US AT&T one is). If you haven't flashed a different kernel yet, then you are still on stock kernel.

Thanks Swiftks!

I'll try that as soon as I have some time... but I still have doubts ..

the picrust rom i've flashed has faux .6 kernel embedded ... if I only flash the .7 is it ok? Is it ok to flash alien#4 rom on top of my current? Here is what works or not:

- Battery lasts less than 10 hours with setcpu + profiles (little usage, most time idle )

- keyboard seems misaligned with touch

- swipe is buggy and doesn't work

- webtop works

- wifi, gps,3g working

- phone is super hot

My phone is from brazil, d00.

Any or advice is really welcome.

Thanks

Here's an official build of a kernel based on Motorola Atrix source code for ATT
    (Overclock via PimpMyCPU or SetCPU)

Just a statement regarding kernel source: The Kernel Source is of course covered under GPL version 2. Free software does NOT mean no work or time was spent working on it. I have donated a large sum of my free time to hack this kernel. If you use my modified kernel source in its entirety, I kindly ask you to send me a github pull request or PM whenever you find bugs or think you can help improve my kernel hack further. This way the entire community will truly benefit from the spirit of open source. Thank you

Compatible with: Rooted Stock, Debloated Stock ROMs and CM7 ROMs (Pick the correct version from below) :D Enjoy!

I have patched in BFQ I/O scheduler and SLQB memory allocator for better I/O and memory performance.

THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING to LOAD THIS KERNEL ON THEIR OWN PHONES... IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS YOU SHOULD NOT FLASH THIS.

    Reserved 2... maybe
    25
    quick status update:

I have recently patched the kernel to the latest kernel.org version 2.6.32.48 and added a number of patches and enhancements to it. The next weekly CM update should have all the things I just mentioned.

I am re-writing the OC completely from scratch. This will probably miss the next weekly update window. The current OC scheme has some flaws:

    1. Unable to control max speed with SetCPU or other OC apps
    2. Webtop will always use MAX freq regardless
    3. No built-in thermal protection (esp for users of 1.45 GHz version)

I am trying to address ALL of the above in 1 gigantic re-write, but lately I've been dealing with personal life as well and so it has been slow... I should have some time this weekend starting tonight. I will try to squeeze as much in as possible this weekend and hopefully have something workable when the weekend is finished.
