Hello guys. I have been working on this ROM for the last couple months and am really
excited about where it has come and where it is going. Please be sure to read thoroughly
on this page for most of the questions

Requirements:
rooted htc evo with full root. (nand access)
custom recovery
most recent zip file below in downloads section
The latest Wimax update : http://www.4shared.com/file/ySDwBj3r/Wimax26023.html
Newest Radio From HTC : http://deck.alexauv.com/Radio-2.15.00.07.28.zip

Instructions on flashing this rom. And most others as well:
turn off your phone
hold volume down and press power button while still holding volume down
when prompted with the white screen press volume down to highlight recovery and press power to select
now using volume buttons to navigate and power to select go to wipe data/factory reset
then select wipe cache partition
now scroll down to install zip from sdcard and select
click on choose zip from sdcard
now find the rom on your sdcard and select and it will start flashing (do not mess with your phone while its flashing)
once installation is completed click go back and then click reboot system now
your rom will now run its first boot which can take anywhere from 3-6 minutes
enjoy the rom!

no the kernel will not fix the 30fps graphics cap. also im just finishing compiling of a overclocked kernel to test.

Good luck getting it to boot, nobody has successfully done it yet.

also nobody has successfully booted a kernel from toast's source ;) ;)

edit: also auto-rotation is broken in kernel as well. just checked. and when screen dims touching it does not renew brightness settings

I couldn't agree more. I switched from T-Mobile 's horrible service and that was the best decision I've ever made. I do miss my nexus though. Looking forward to loading your ROM onbmy Evo. Did you optimize rosie at all yet?

yup.

and btw people i hope you like faster phones. i got us stable at 1.113ghz and working on higher clocks. this kernel would be great for a froyo rom. i can make a no wipe for u guys later tonight

That sounds amazing. I don't know if I'll flash the custom kernel just because the 8MP camera is one of my features...but maybe I'll try it if I'm feeling dangerous :p do we have to wait for source to be released for camera to be fixed or what?

;-P love the optimization. That's the problem with stock Rosie, too slow and sluggish. I hate accidental clicks. Looking forward to trying this. I may just have to try it with the custom kernel to see just HOW fast it is. If I get sick of not having the camera then I can always just flash the ROM over it without the kernel.

+1 I love my EVO and Sprint. I switched over from T-Mobile's super sketchy 3g coverage. I loved my nexus One but hated T-mobile! ;)

Every time I try to flash V8 I get

    E:Wrong digest:
    system/app/Browser.apk
    E: Verification failed

    wth?

what recovery are you using? or maybe its just a bad download.

Did you do anything special when you flashed? Are you using the latest radio/wiimax? I really like this ROM, but something seems amiss on my end with the battery drain ..

    Thanks!

I have the new radios and wimax...I just wiped and flashed. I have NO task killer and I have always on data off or whatever that setting is. I'm really surprised its pretty nice for 2.2. Every other froyo rom sucked my battery dry.

    @shawnee4885

Make sure you don't have an auto task killer killing it. If you have one add that app to its exclude list.

    @SYNTHAXXX

Yeah, I've had the music start playing by itself when I visit a page with the music widget. So have a few other people. Not sure why yet.
