thanks tdj, I implemented those very changes in my framework.jar and it does fix the bt icon issue.. However there is still one more thing others and I have encountered with the swipeable notifications and that is when you download something through a browser and swipe away the notification, the notification keeps returning (seemingly at random) until it is cleared one of the old fashioned ways. I've learned to live with it but would be very interested to see if you had any ideas on fixing it!

The same blackout happened to me yesterday morning for the first time on 2.6, then updated to 2.7 and it did it again but for like around d 2 minutes, and then never again...has been running smooooooth since
Radio is not packaged but ics radio works fine, no need to flash a radio...

ICS radio does not allow mms over wifi. Regular txt go through but not mms. Had to flash KID radio to recover mms over wifi functionality

You can just download the zip I linked and unzip it .. The framework.jar is in the framework folder and push it to /system/framework

I flashed this rom after a super.wipe and I have to say it is the smoothest running rom I've tried on my SGS II.
I have one issue. The phone is constantly overheating and the battery only lasts about 4 hours before being completely drained. How can I remedy this?

That's strange because battery life is also one of the best attributes of this rom. Sounds like it may be a rogue app. Check what's draining your battery because mine lasts the whole day with moderate use and about 8 hrs with heavy use.

just got the black screen again. i got a notification so i went to power on the screen but got nothing. the soft keys were lit up though. i pressed the power/volume buttons a few times to see if i could get it to come on. nothing happened so i held the power button and it rebooted. also, when rebooted it seems my swype stopped working correctly. swyping to write a word will not work but actually typing it out will. i tried fixing permissions and that seems to fix it.

Thanks, I tried for days to figure it out and even wiped and reflashed. Same issue, 4 hours batt and overheating. Maybe my phone just can't handle this rom. Restoring to jugg 5.0 now.
from Darkside to Darkside and back
So im considering installing the ICS version of the Darkside rom ([ROM][ICS] :ARKSIDE.EVOLUTION.2:: [BETA2) .... (currently have this one) and I know I need to install the ICS radio. If i do not like it, get tired of it ... whatever will i need to install a different Radio to come back to this rom or will that radio work here as well?

Add flags to filename:
An adaptation of @waydownsouth's script, I have modified and created a script that allows for flexibility with how I can create and user can install a ROM. *PLEASE READ* this next section carefully and only proceed with a full understanding of what you are about to do. Ask any questions within the thread before doing so...
Available flags:
- -wipe
- -notw
- -twmod
- -nobatt
- -volwake
- -wipe = A full wipe that is much more through and is HIGHLY suggested over any wipe options in recovery menu. It will also format partitions to EXT4 (NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA! DOESN'T TOUCH SD CARD/EMMC!)
- -notw = (No TouchWiz - TOUCHLESS) This will remove the TouchWiz UI and mostly all Samsung apps and Widgets. I left some of the more requested apps in. By not adding this flag you will get a STOCK KL1 Build.
- -twmod = Installs a 5x4x5 modified TW Launcher. (See screen shot below)
- -nobatt = Completely disables the 100% battery pop-up and notification.
- -volwake = Enables volume buttons to wake the device (Just as power button)
Adding flags to the file name:
If default file name is:

To perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -wipe flag to end of file name:

you underestimate the power of the DARKSIDE3331What i am am about to say is real talk. v2.6 is going to update to my new v3 kernel. I rebased off the latest skyrocket source that was released in the end of February. If you don't things could get and more smooth, snappy, and more battery efficient.. you're in for a treat! I also will be including a script that can set a predefined profile, you may have seen screen shots I have posted. No eta on release so don't ask.. not sure what other changes, if any, will be included.
I also have to say that this board is in rough shape. A lot people think I like to "troll" these boards and cause drama. I just want to clear this up and let people know that I am only looking out for the better of the community. A lot of people here don't really know a lot of the technical sides of android and our device. I really hate to see people get screwed over by someone that really doesn't have a clue but needs to try and feel important on xda. I am honestly looking out for our community and try to weed out the garbage as best I can. I don't care what people think of me and I don't care what people say. I do what I say and say what I do. I have contributed plenty to this board and never leave you guys hanging. Honestly outside team kang there hasn't been much actual development since I migrated over here. I appricate that people are eager to learn, but its a damn shame the ego that comes along with having your own thread...
