Just flashed 23678 ; this time, I choosed the Standard Energy, as the sizes showed an important difference, characterizing a very empty "Reference" ROM. ;)

Since the rotation program is missing though the button longpress is linked to it, I installed my CAB, immediately followed by the 3D acceleration package from Neos.

But first things to do are :

- Launch BSB Tweaks to set up the phone

- Select the right time zone and set up date and time

- Restore settings

- Synchronize with outlook

Now, the testings and feedback :

- I like the full load of utilities and the colorful icons

- Pictures and camera tab works perfectly

- Still no rotation except for the few programs that manage it (HTC Album, music tab, etc.) : it must definitely be something related to 23xxx builds.

- General speed is excellent ; I thought is was slower than 23121, but it became even faster as soon as the graphics accelerator package was installed (yes, it does speed up Sense, and even Windows Mobile Start menu, and file browsing)

- Wi-fi connection is still a bit unsatisfactory, as are actually all the versions that have this "Advanced" button not working (there should be something in common)

- The usual testing 3D and accelerometers apps are working OK (Diamond Hlogram : 25 fps). Diamond Saber does NOT react to g-sensor (bad luck : this seems to affect about 1 ROM out of 2 ! :p)

- NFS Undercover is NOT working (usual "out of memory" message at startup, though there is 20 time the free memory required).

- Music tab is working perfectly, as usual (I actually never seen it not working in any Energy ROM)

- Memory use and recovery are similar to 23121, so not as good as 23128.

- I had great hopes about time zones and correct world clock hours after having read the changelog, but no : Australian New South Wales and New Caledonia are still messy... The original HTC files are wrong anyway, and the database still has to be corrected by hand.

A few words about global skining and appearance :

- I also choosed the "Standard Energy" version because it has a very effective taskbar. The "Dinik" skinned one looks slightly better, but it's basically the same, and it's also the only one that never displayed a doubled BlueTooth icon nor any other weird things I often get with other taskbars. It's really a good and reliable one.

- I like the colored second layer HTC icons, but the "GTX" style menus looks strange here ! :D Same for the "GTX" style buttons in "Home" settings, etc. It looks like some graphics elements escaped from their master and hid inside non-GTX ROMs ! :p But maybe the second layer can't be transparent, as the first one is. Nonetheless, I would love having black background ones instead. :)

- The rounded "Dinik" (with glassy reflections) style indicators in the Stocks tab look a bit lost against the overall "non Dinik" style ! :p

These are tiny details I just wanted to bring to NRGZ's attention, just to produce more homogeneous ROMs ! ;)

German Rom

I just installed the German ROM 17aug.cookie. The first impression was pretty good. Than I noticed a problem. When trying to use "Settings Export" to import my settings, I was told to insert a storage card first. I assume this is due to the name "Speicherkarte" in German, but it just doesn't work this way.

I'll be searching for more bugs and report them as they turn up.

Edit: As I just lost all my data on my SD card (I have no clue what happened), I'll have to start from scratch with this rom, maybe not so bad...

To enable the rotation search for the application ChangeScreen trough the threads. i installed the cookie rom and it works the rotation :)

Hello Energy, decided to try your new 6.5 rom again (21914 version/sense2.5/wwe/) from Aug 18.
I'm using the company's mail for exchange server for synching my mail, calendar and contacts. Usually works like a charm, but when I tried creating an appointment in my phone, I got the error code 0x80072f17.
Big thanks to everyone

Which build is everyone seem to be having less freezing with? For the past 2 ROMs that I've flashed 23xxx builds and after a while they all seem to freeze while I'm in the middle of using them. This time I was using the Reference ROM with Manila 2.1 even. I would like to go back to GTX because I love the look however I seem to be reading that CHT 1.8.5 and our devices don't mix too well speed wise.

My 23569 GTX build of EnergyROM from back in May lasted me the longest and without any problems at all. I still have the ROM but I flashed to something new because I had that new itch and now due to the freezing I want to flash to something but I'm not sure what (MaxSense is out of the question, that's what I had before this Reference flash and I thought it would be something I like but turns out I didn't like it and it froze a lot on me)

I FINALLY managed task29! :)

Have you used task 29 to clean out your rom?
Yes I have. It's part of my routine before flashing a new ROM. I used to flash to stock rom first but then switched over to Task 29.

Hey, the one good thing about all my suffering trying to get the HTC Music Player from NRG's ROM to actually work for me, is that I ***FINALLY*** took the time to make sense of the extremely convoluted explanations pertaining Task 29, and it turned out to be painfully simple to do in the end. It even had the added benefit of freeing me permanently from the "smart mobility" bootup screen! lol :D

My task 29 package always installs this bootup screen that I found here in the XDA forums for me to substitute the oversimplified black smart mobility one:

attachment.php

It's fantastic to have an added benefit to cleaning your Phone's internal memory! :D :D :D

I packaged the Task 29 I use and this boot splash together in a folder where you just have to unzip, open it and run task29.exe. If you want to have this Blackstone Task 29 Package you can get it HERE.

If you don't want to run task 29, but just want to get rid of the smart mobility screen and keep your current ROM and info intact, then get this other package I made HERE.

Hope you enjoy it :)

EDIT: Finally found the original poster!!! :) Please credit member 6Fg8 for this nice piece of work on creating the Bios boot screen, his original post, that even has one more screen, is here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=3846717&postcount=53

Is it also possible to just add that bootscreen without either doing Task29 or reflashing? (since i don't want to reset my settings again ;)).

Yes, it is. If you read my post, you'll see that's what the second option/package is for, you flash the boot splash screen but it doesn't affect the ROM or any of your information that's in the phone memory, just like I wrote. Enjoy! :D ;)

Well I'm delighted that you found it useful, but I'm afraid I can't take the credit for the actual splashscreen file. I have been trying for quite some time to convert one of my own images to the required nbh format, but haven't had any luck so far :( So credit for the easy packaging only for me, the actual hard part belongs to the original poster :D :D :D

Welcome to the EnergyROM thread !

This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) device.

The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs about twice a week, as new builds come down the pipe or as new software/updates are available.

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

    • Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
    • Speed !!!
    • Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
    • Stability through private beta testing before public release

I pre-configure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.

I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!

Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.

    • A 21916 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner. This build uses the same stock system that came with your device. This is usually the fastest and most stable build, but it's also the least fancy
      smile.gif

    • A 29022 Build that's the latest in Microsoft's development with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys, making it all very "finger friendly". These builds reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. Most people choose this build... Why else would you install a custom ROM ?
      smile.gif
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.

It's definitely the fastest way to get in touch with me and please don't be afraid to tweet me if you see major issues with the ROMs.
I generally do not answer "support" questions on Twitter, as it's really not the proper medium for that. Service packs and quick fixes will always be released as links in my tweets and that's definitely the fastest way to get a fix for a ROM.

'Standard' ROMs that have no addons installed on the homescreen. Stock Sense 2.5 !

    EnergyROM_Blackstone_Standard.png

    'Energy'

    • This series retains the stock functionality of the Sense UI. The files have been compressed by "CFC" compression. making the UI lighter and faster
    • This ROM still retains my theme and style, plus all the regular apps you find in my ROMs.
    • There are no homescreen addon-ons in this ROM. The best speed and the most stock functionality.
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_Reference.png

    'Reference'

    • This ROM is mostly for people that want a close to stock ROM with the stock visual style. It's also perfect for doing your own customizations.
    • A lot of the cooked in apps are removed in this ROM, the Start menu back to the stock 3 row style
    • Sense and everything else is back to the default HTC green.

    ROMs mostly created for enthusiasts...

    EnergyROM_Blackstone_MaxSense.png

    MaxSense UI (android style homescreen)

    • This is a complete rewrite of the Sense homescreen, by maxycy.
    • It features a 3 screen, Android style, homescreen with widgets! The widgets can be placed ANYWHERE on the three screens.
    • 75 Quicklink accessible on all tabs
    • You should really visit the original thread for this mod shown on the next line to see all the features!
    • Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <.
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_Titanium.png

    Titanium (ROMs for raw speed!)

    • This is a minimal ROM version without Sense in it. It's used primarily for people that like to customize the default 6.5 homescreen (Titanium)
    • You can use it to install alternate homescreen interfaces like SPB Mobile Shell, etc
    • Very low memory footprint and good battery life, but very simple and lacks a lot of features that you would otherwise have available in Sense...

This post features all the Cookie Hometab based ROMs I make.

The original ROM is the "energy" version and that's a good starting point. All the rest, are themes applied to that ROM.
They all come in two versions,
Cookie 1.8.5 and Cookie 2.0 (the ROM filename will be labeled "Cookie" and "Cookie.2.0, plus the name of the theme)

You can see more screenshots of these ROMs a couple of posts down.

The two Cookie versions look pretty similar, but Cookie 2.0 has multiple sliding homescreens/freely moveable widgets (similar to Android) and
quite a few more features and speed.

    EnergyROM_Blackstone_Energy.png

    My own 'Energy' style

    • This is the best ROM version and the way Sense should have been designed by HTC
    • Offers the biggest customization ability out of all versions. You can add/remove bars or items on the homescreen, arrange items any way you like, plus lots of extra features
    • Three built in lockscreens. "HD Mini" style, Manila style or Windows style
    • 3 pages of quicklinks with a configurable amount of shortcuts displayed
    • 3 Homescreen layouts to choose from, as seen in the above screenshots, all completely customizable !
    • Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_xMas.png

    'Energy' style Christmas Edition

    • This is just like the ROM above, but with a Christmas theme applied !
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_Dinik.png

    Dinik's "Anastasia"
    • This ROM series is skinned with Dinik's great "Anastasia" theme applied on everything.
    • Everything has been skinned, including Sense, the start menu items, the soft keyboard, parts of the dialer... etc
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_Sencity.png

    _LeCiel_'s ".sencity"

    • This ROM is themed with the .sencity theme released by _LeCiel_ who is a very talented artist ! Please support his work if possible.
    • .sencity is not %100 complete yet, but _LeCiel_ is working hard on finishing his work to completely skin the entire ROM.
    • Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_TouchOfGlass.png

DJC & Bobsbbq's "Touch Of Glass"
    • This ROM series is skinned with DJC's "Touch of Glass" theme throughout Sense and the Start Menu
    • More will be skinned as DJC continues his work on the theme in the future...
    • Link to the original thread for this mod is here > Click <
    EnergyROM_Blackstone_GTX.png

    ElCondor's "GTX"

    • This ROM has the white GTX theme applied
    • Android styled taskbar, matching dialer, matching start menu background and Action screen background
    • GTX is a total reskin of the operating system, so expect a very different (white) experience

Guide to fast "ready to go " after flashing... XDA_US Scripts Examples

    Hi all

As i promise to some of you, this is my Howto guide on what to do before and after a flash to have
you device and your data up and running in no time

Most of the pre flashing stuff they have to be done ONCE, some of them like backup of PIM data every time before flash

Probably i am forgetting things so i will add them as we go...

    1. What to backup before flashing..

    1.1
Put all your app cabs in the folder \Storage card\XDA_UC.
Any registry (.reg) and mortscript files (.mscr) also put them here.
In the folder \XDA_UC\Start Menu you can put any shortcust to app that are installed on sd

1.2 Make a backup of your pim data with pimbackup.Keep that file in SD card\XDA_UC folder.
If you care about facebook links to your contacts then use outlook or better (for me)
use the free MS MyPhone service and the app \tools\Myphone to backup all pim data
(it does't make backup of call logs)

1.3 In tools\setting export and "export everything".Also in the menu chose autoimport.
In my opinion its better after this to go to \SD\XDA_UC\Exporter and delete the following files:
    SenseSettings.reg - SenseSettingsCookieLayout.reg - SenseTabs.reg
All the others are ok. Keep in mind that passwords for facebook twitter and bluetooth
    are not saved.

1.4 In CHT editor go to menu and export setting ... Select an sd folder and export your settings

1.5 Copy to SD card the files : "\Application Data\HTC\ygo\ygoservice.db" for the stocks and
the file "\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\AudioManager_Eng.vol" for the music playlist.

1.6 Run the app Backup favpeople and in setting setup the folder to sd and check
the manila 2.5 compatible. Then chose Backup contacts

1.7 i have attached 1 file for e-mail and 1 for wi-fi, change the settings to yours and save them
for easy setup mails and wi-fi

1.8 With a registry editor open the registry and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software.
Here are all of your app installed and if there is an app that needs alot of settings
    export the application key.
There is a pc application(CERegeditor link in the end of the post) that make the hole
editing easy, and you can edit in your pc.
Move all those registry files in the XDA_UC folder.

1.9 If there are any files that must be copied back to the main memory after flash (like the
stock file or the audio palylist file or any shortcuts to sd application) the follow my
guide in th wiki to make a copyfiles.mscr file and place it to XDA_UC folder
    Link:
    http://xdaforums.com/wiki/index.php..._UC_to_autocopy_files_and_folders_after_Flash

1.10 Sample copyfiles.mscr... Copy and paste to Notepad, Change add or remove your files and folders.
Save as copyfiles.mscr and move the file to XDA_UC folder

    Code:
    ####################################################################
    ##### this block of code will move the Backlight.lnk from programs folder to tools folder If ( FileExists( "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Backlight.lnk" )=TRUE )
          rename( "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Backlight.lnk", "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Tools\Backlight.lnk", TRUE )
       Else
SleepMessage( 5, "No Backlight.lnk rename/move...bye!", "No File to move!" )
       EndIf

    ####################################################################
########This block of code will make a folder in "\Program Files\" with name xdaShutdown and then will copy the contens of the folder \Storage Card\cabs\My cabs\xdaShutdown to that folder.

       MkDir( "\Program Files\xdaShutdown" )
       If ( DirExists( "\Storage Card\cabs\My cabs\xdaShutdown" ) )
          XCopy( "\Storage Card\cabs\My cabs\xdaShutdown\*.*", "\Program Files\xdaShutdown", TRUE, TRUE )
       Else
SleepMessage( 5, "Nothing to copy... goodbye!", "Problem!" )
       EndIf

    ####################################################################
    ###### This block of code will copy file ygoservice.db form storage card to folder \Application Data\HTC\ygo.

      If ( FileExists( "\Storage Card\ygoservice.db" )=TRUE )
           copy( "\Storage Card\ygoservice.db", "\Application Data\HTC\ygo\ygoservice.db", TRUE )
      Else
SleepMessage( 5, "Nothing to rename/move... goodbye!", "Problem!" )
      EndIf

    1.11
Sugocy post a way to copy the backup file AudioManager_Eng.vol with the code bellow
    Code:
    MkDir( "\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng" )
    If ( DirExists( "\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng" ) )
    copy( "\Storage Card\XDA_UC\AudioManager_Eng.vol", "\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\AudioManager_Eng.vol", TRUE )
    Else
SleepMessage( 5, "Playlist did not Copy", "Problem!" )
    EndIf

    2. After Flash

2.1 The XDA_UC script will do the following things for you automaticly.
Will Install all the cabs (1.1)
Will imports all the registry files in the XDA_UC folder (1.8)
Will run any .mscr file (like copyfile.mscr) and do all the copy staff for you (1.9)
Will Import all the setting exported by the Setting exporter (1.3)
Will import any xml files (1.7)
Will copy all the shortcuts in the \XDA_UC\Start Menu to \Windows\Start Menu (1.1)
Will run the pimbackup app for restoring you PIM data (contacts ect) (1.2)
(this needs some user innput thats why runs in the end)

Easy way to export or inport registry files from your PC

The easyest way is to use the CERegedit app that i post in the guide.
Here you go step by step

Install it on the pc and after connecting the device run the app.

    Export
In the menu connection select connect and you will see the registry tree of the device.
Then go to the branch \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
Some app have and other info stored in \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Sotware
maybe you have to export the settings from both branches

Here you will see all the installed apps.

Find the one you want to export settings and left click on the name and from the contest menu select "Export".
Give a folder and name to your file and in "Save as type" menu select "Registry file (.reg)"
Thats all .. you exported your registry settings fro that app.
Place that reg file in xda_uc and it will imported automaticly after the flash

PS: The attached file contains the program ceregedit for editing the device registry on the pc and the 2 files mentioned in 1.7 for mail and wi-fi auto setup.

EDIT: Updated rar file with correct Mail and wi-fi provisional XML files
    Encoding changed to ANSI
