<< Stock and U Firmware For Your Verizon S7 Edge and Quick Guide>>[01-09-17]

I no longer own this device so I have to stop support for the thread....

Here is the newest available firmware for the Verizon S7 Edge to flash with Odin. Post 1 has Verizon firmware and post 2 has the U firmware. The flashing process is fairly simple. I will try to keep this updated as long as I own this device.

First make sure your PC is properly set up with the Samsung Drivers and ADB/Fastboot from here. After this is done proceed...

1) Download the latest firmware from the link below and then unzip the file.
2) Load the files located in the unzipped firmware folder that starts with BL using the BL button, AP using the AP button, CP using the CP button and finally the CSC using the CSC button in Odin and wait for them to verify. (See Screenshot Below)
3) After the files verify shut down your phone and restart it in download mode by pressing and holding down the volume down, home and power buttons until the phone boots to download mode. Then press the volume up and connect the phone to your PC.
4) Once you are connected and the firmware is loaded press the start button and wait for the process to finish. The phone will restart and then you should be running the latest firmware.

You can load either the HOME_CSC or the CSC_VZW file in the CSC slot. Home will not wipe data and CSC_VZW will.

G935U Firmware
Below is the G935U Firmware. It is the stock firmware direct from Samsung so it has no carrier bloat pre-installed. No VVM or any Verizon apps what so ever. Just the way I like it. I will not provide any add ons so please do not ask. If you want the bloat flash the firmware from post 1. If you do decide to use this you will need to root to use HD Calling because it requires a CSC edit. I also had to edit the build.prop to fix the WiFi password bug. I have included a flashable zip with flashfire for this below. For various fixes for doze and the cpu go to this thread and thank @psouza4 for the fix and this one for a bunch of useful info. Of course thanks to @dajmanjt for all the info in one place.

Works to downgrade from PB5 to PB4

For anyone having issues with the latest PB5 update, I followed the directions in the OP to return to PB4 and it worked perfectly. As stated in the OP, the process will wipe the phone so be sure to backup beforehand.

and
HOME_CSC_VZW_G935VVZW2APB5_CL7042442_QB8979565_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar

I thought if I substituted the CSC_VZW with the HOME_CSC in the csc slot it wouldn't wipe data but I couldn't get HOME_CSC to flash and ended up having to reset my phone. With that said I'm not sure what it's for.

I'm curious if you know any insiders with info on the when/if we'll get the next update that Sammy's got out? It would be nice as I'm having some edge issues in addition to poor battery performance since the last update.

I have freezing issues from time to time every day... will it fix that?
This freezing is getting very irritating.
I think the salesperson at the Verizon store lied to me saying an upcoming firmware would take care of it.
I think he was trying to discourage me from returning it in my 14 day window.
Way past that now....

I just posted the newest version of Odin 3.11.1 that now lets you load the HOME_CSC instead of MULTI_CERT in the CSC slot so you won't have to wipe data. Thanks @hiepgia for posting Odin, don't forget to thank him here.

Good to see you in this neck of the woods, Misterxtc. Been a while. Hope all has been well!

Good to see you too. I tried quite a few phones since last year and settled to the Edge, it's quite nice even without root. I should be here for a while but then again who knows.... Take care.

Very cool, if I ever come up with the extra cash I might pick another N4 up. I've been feeding my other "toy habits" lately and laying low on the phone stuff. My wife has the S7 edge for now and I went back to the Note5 for a bit. I switch back and forth with her.

A guy posted a screenshot of his settings about phone before and after. New kernel and a new baseband both of those could have positive battery effects.

But doesnt APE1 update the Kernel which could patch an exploit? does the kernel get downgraded when you downgrade the firmware?
Yes when downgrading with Odin it is a full fresh system flash and will install the kernel it is packaged with. A kernel from a newer build would be overwritten with an older one if an older build is used.

This holds true for the baseband as well.

We don't really have any idea what has been patched if anything. I always assume further optimization.

It has been proven it is safe to downgrade from this latest firmware as well.

Might as well enjoy it and live life as though there is no root at this time. If and when an exploit surfaces you may have to downgrade you might not.
