This is what I did to fix connection error. Download/reinstall. Once done installing, do not open the app. You have to connect to a wifi. (a must) Upon connecting to wifi open the showbox app. That should fix the issue.

I have one that works been using it for a while in Google type in showbox free apk 4shared and u will get the working version

Lol i had this issue... The download failes, but when i look at the download folder within "es file Explorer", i can simply install the apk.
