Hi, I tried installing HTC_CIME from http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=512530, but no matter what I select it always defaults to "Touch Input" instead of "Touch Input Chinese". There's no checkbox for me to select anything :(.

Is there any way to fix this? Thank you.

After you performed the HTC_CIME update:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/HTC_IME*
adb shell rm /system/lib/libt9.so
adb shell rm /system/app/Clicker*

This rom, or a cyanogen port are the two on the top of my list now. Just waiting to see which one I will try first.

Keep up the good work.

Suggestion: what about hosting the changelog on this site? (I guess the original is large enough to leave out)... feel free to continue on as normal :8

Edit: Amon, have you considered looking into the cyanogen ports for 32A boards a few people are trying at the moment but not perfecting?

Gave the v1.0.0 rom a try last night and it seems pretty good so far.

I notice there's an update for it already - is there an easier way to apply this rather than a full reinstall?

Can I update without a wipe and will that keep all my settings?

Or can I just get this updated clicker app (As APN's are not really important to me - mine's not on any of the lists)

A full update (without wipe!) should work fine. The update will not update any userdata. To be safe I advice to always make a nandroid backup via the Recovery menu first ^^

If you're only interested in the Clicker.apk update you can extract /system/app/Clicker.apk and /system/app/Clicker.odex from the update.zip and push them manually to your device :

Code:
adb remount
adb push Clicker.apk /system/app/Clicker.apk
adb push Clicker.odex /system/app/Clicker.odex

Thanks for the tip, the changelog is now hosted on this site ^^

The Cyanogen ROM is nothing without the Cyanogen kernel...
The source for the HTC kernel running on 32A boards isn't available (yet) so I can't get Cyanogen's kernel to work on 32A boards.

You could take his ROM and replace the kernel by an HTC one, but that would be like driving a Porsche with a Beetle engine...

Amon_RA: Thanks for the help! By the way, are there any plans to include the HTC Dialer? I miss that from my stock ROM :p.

I have no plans implementing the HTC Dialer, that would require lots of HTC core stuff to be added...

I think there are a few Dialers on the market with the same functionalities...

Looks good mate,
Any thoughts on implementing cyanogen/Stericson's lockscreen?

I am interested in trying this- do you think you could whip up a theme template for us? I would like to port a couple of themes across to it.

Updated from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 without doing a wipe :)! However, it seems I've to reinstall the HTC_CIME each time I update, small thing though :).

Is there any way I can check the current mod version? I think it'd be a good idea to implement this.

Amon_RA: I removed the files as per your instruction, and am now left with "Touch Input Chinese" but it's still not working. Now I've no virtual keyboard appearing at all :(.

Update: I reversed the order, and it worked! That is, I removed the files as per your instructions, then loaded the update.zip from the IME thread! :D Thanks!

Thank you! Installed last night using a Swedish HTC Magic, works like "magic". :D

I'm using Exchange and that works fine with mail! But the app isn't syncing Contacts nor Calendar, is there a plan to implement that part of their app?

Regards,
Magnus

Yeah, the Exchange support that comes in Daldroid's rom is a bit more advanced than this one and has exchange contact/calendar sync.

That said, I have everything i need on gmail so it doesn't bother me.

Enjoying this rom so far - very fast, light and smooth. I miss some of the HTC Hero niceties like facebook/flickr/twitter integration a bit, but like the snappishness of this rom more and it's nice to have my LED's back ;)

Installed it and was using like 33MB of 295MB of internal memory even after installing my apps and games ;) If you want a light rom with minimal extras then this is for you.

Thought about adding the HTC QuickOffice/PDF Viewer at all btw?

Dose Tether work?

For me one of the most important things is tether, so dose this ROM have IPtablets and tether capability?

True... that's because Daldroid's rom is based on a HTC build.
The exchange version I've included is the one from the MyTouch 3G, and is just limited to email.

Thought about adding the HTC QuickOffice/PDF Viewer at all btw?

Ok, I'll create an extra "apps" update package containing HTC QuickOffice/PDF Viewer later today.

Thanks Amon_RA! By the way I think lamusic managed to add th necessary stuff to the kernel, which is being used by nk02 in his Ion build. Maybe you can ask them?

By the way, are you planning to include the CRC updates? Thanks!

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Code:
    0. What did you change compared to the previous version?!
    See the attached Changelog!

    1. Will this work on the Dream (G1)?
No - I have no plans to support it.

    2. I get errors while applying the update?!
ALWAYS check the md5sum to make sure the zip isn't corrupted.

    3. I get "Verification failed" when applying the update.
Use a custom recovery with test-keys to apply the update.

    4. Do I have to wipe?
Yes - I advise everyone to wipe to avoid issues.
If you're upgrading from a previous RAv1.6.x-ROM a wipe is not mandatory. If weird things happen, try wiping anyway before reporting issues.

    5. I can't get adb/fastboot to work on my windows/mac/linux/hackingtosh?!
This question is not related to this ROM, please post your question in the general section so people can help you.

    6. Battery life really sucks on this ROM.
Try scaling the CPU speed down manually.

    7. Could you please release a new version with different CPU speed settings?
No - download a cpu-speed setting app and configure it yourself.

    8. Application x is not working on your ROM!
Check if that application is Donut compliant.

    9. Will you include more languages?
    No

    10. How do I change the HTC_IME language?
Check out this awesome blog : http://ostebaronen.dk/?p=190. If the keyboard doesn't change your language is probably not implemented.

    11. I want the LatinIME keyboard back!
Grab it from a Donut ROM and push it to /system/app.

    12. Will you include HTC exchange support?
No - I don't want to implement the HTC framework.

    13. Will you release a lite-version of this ROM?
No - You can manually remove the apps you don't need from /system/app.

    14. I can't install the media pack!
It's a normal zip file, just unzip it to the root of your SD-card.

    15. Where can I find theme's for this ROM?
Check the theme section, MontAlbert ported some nice themes here : http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=544625

    16. Does this ROM support Apps-to-sd, Compcache, Multi-touch, ...?
If it's not mentioned in the "supported features section" it's probably not supported ;)

    17. I found a bug / I've a request or question, what should I do?!
Just post it in this thread, and I'll try to help you. Please don't send me a PM, I'll most probably not read it anyway.

    18. Why don't you answer my question?
Because it's already answered in this FAQ.

    19. When will you release a new version?
When it's ready. 1 day of delay for each time someone asks me.

Nice work dev, I mean at that time you did such a great job.

Thanks for the update! I know I've asked once, but are you planning to include the CRC1 (OTA update) fixes?

Also, is there anyway to change how the phone numbers display on my phone? I'm not used to having the dashes after every 3 numbers :(.

    Update:
cytown has released a modified Phone.apk that will vibrate the phone when someone has answered your call. I've loaded it and it's working well so far. The link:

going to try this with a 2708 kernel and report. anybody else tried the extra RAM radio/spl with this rom?

    [edit]
So far everything works fine but the camera - can't get it to save. I'm also missing quite a few apps that unbeknown to me where 2.x only :( - zeam launcher and ray dialer mainly.

edit 2] bluetooth's a bit wonky. will not switch off immediately if at all.
ezterry's ram hack takes from camera, so for the camera to work, you will need to use the 1m pixel setting.
