Regarding getting better battery life with 3G than wifi, it looked to me as though the phone was just waking up more often to poll for data (probably location/weather/play store updates, and that kind of stuff). I was on Omega 11 with stock kernel. I've since started using tasker to turn wifi on/off with screen on/off, and battery definitely improved drastically. I'm now on Red Pill 1.3, as well, and yesterday I got something like 36 hours before dropping to about 35% battery (no OC/UV, brightness on Auto, no power savings enabled, all moting control and quick view enabled). That being said, it's nice to know that the battery can go that long, but I pretty much will always charge overnight, so I really don't need more than 16 hours maximum. I'll probably go back to having wifi on all the time. Really, I don't see the point in "crippling" the phone to stretch the battery any longer than that. But it was a fun exercise!
I NEVER understood the need to cripple an excellent handset of most of it's great features to squeeze a few more hours of battery life. Who really needs more than 16 hours without being capable of finding a charging source? I even bought an extra battery for the Note 2 (as I did for all previous Samsungs) I have never used it. Maybe on a 6 hour flight I might (but i have a TAB 2 P3100 as well for that.)
People should turn everything ON and USE the phone as designed. All of it ...........and don;t worry so much about "battery life". One can always buy a flip phone for a week of battery life. I charge every night with over 50% remaining on my worst days,
