How exactly do I flash this? Wipe cache and flash?

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App

You can't flash it, its an exe file and therefore only run in a windows environment, if you want to flash it look here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1133379

Everyone keep in mind that if you run this RUU successfully and you currently have root you WILL LOSE ROOT UNTIL A NEW EXPLOIT IS FOUND.

It may be a good idea to put that in 120 point red type in the first post.

This should be self explanatory, but some may not know this.

I believe to get S-on back you must re-root, and run the S-on tool(a zip you flash through recovery) from unrEVOked forever. I bet some searching could turn up such a tool easily

Thanks football! But isn't this the same 4.24.651.1 update that released on June 6? What's the difference?

That's what this is. The 4.24.651.1 OTA packed up to completely overwrite everything on the phone with a 100% stock state.

Has any one tried to mod a ruu to obtain root

Omgadroid is Linux only

Doing so would mean that it (the rom.zip) would have to be re-signed. If it's signed by anything other than HTC's keys, it will be rejected by the bootloader.

Not sure if it would work on an android device -- never tried it.. but, theoretically you could use HTCrie to modify the rom while maintaining the signature.
