Did we lose the control over the long press on the power button? Maybe I just can't find the setting for some reason.

Weird... Multiple people have stated that GPS lock times have improved, but to my knowledge, nothing GPS-related has changed for over a week.

Not for me that's that only problem that I have is GPS related. I freak-in love this ROM, just locking GPS can take 3-10 minutes. So on the days that my job requires me to travel I restore a XWLP4 I9100 port (currently using Mystic's) and I can lock GPS in like 10 seconds. I tried changing my modem to the same that is used in the XWLP4 I9100 port which is UCLC5 but it doesn't seem to help.

Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining this is still my ROM of choice.

Thanks.

Agreed.
GPS takes forever to lock if at all.

Has anybody else improved GPS performance wth latest nightly?

Same problem here. CM 7.2 RC's gave me perfect GPS functionality with locks under 10 seconds typically. No matter which CM9 nightly I use I'm lucky to get a lock at all. Some people with CM9 don't seem to have as much trouble. Maybe if we could start some type of CM9 GPS thread we could understand a little bit better about what is going on. Maybe list which CM9 nightly we are on, our general location, modem we are using etc...I don't know if the info would be useful or not.

Is the dialer supposed to have the delete button on top? I thought it was supposed to be on the bottom. It works, it just looks weird to me...

Been like that since the first nightly I believe. I agree it looks AND feels weird. I hope it gets moved back or at least gets an option to put it back at the bottom

Not a big issue, but thought I'd report it. I am now having problems locking my screen to prevent rotating. I'm locking/unlocking using the Widget button with no success.

I'm using the Samsung car dock and can confirm that the audio out works great and it charges too.

Thanks Entropy and SteveUK and anyone else that helped!

When you say that "it charges too", what are you running when you see the phone charging? I'm trying to narrow down my issues, so if you could help me, that would be very much appreciated. I've tried several different scenarios.

What Hasn't Worked (lose battery %):

1. CM Default Music app playing (up to) 256kbs MP3s. Tasker task to do: WiFi on, Bluetooth on. Then I run Navigation app.

2. CM Default Music App. New Tasker Task to do: WiFi tethering on, Bluetooth on. I run navigation app.

3. CM Default Music App. New Tasker Task: WiFi off, BT on. I run nav app.

What Has Worked (battery successfully charges):

1. CM Default Music App. New Tasker Task: WiFi Off, BT on. No Nav app.

So the obvious difference is GPS. So my question to you is, are you running Nav and having the phone charge? Are your use cases the same as mine? If so, then I need to verify the amperage passing to the car audio cable. I appreciate any input you can give me on this issue. Thanks!

If its a placebo effect I still say thanks because it still seems faster to me. I use Waze (good for traffic reports) when driving home and it would take 2-3 minutes to lock, not a deal breaker. Today when checking dock audio I decided to check GPS while outside and GPS status locked in 33 seconds. I previously set GPS source to internal and used GPS status to delete aGPS and then downloaded and this had no affect for me.

Again thanks for fixing dock audio and a big thanks for doing nothing to GPS. :p

Changed with Android 4.0.4

As to charging on the dock - without a doubt, it charges at 650 mA (just like on an AC charger), and it did so before the dockaudio patches. However Navigation with full screen brightness can use more than this, causing drain. No way to fix this on I9100/I777.

Reduce screen brightness, and underclock - I gain battery slowly or at least stay even if I limit CPU to 800 MHz when on AC. (Dock is treated as "AC charging")

Any chance we might get an option to scroll downwards through the app drawer like CM7 allowed? Not a fan of the sideways swiping.

Big thanks to you CM9 developers - this is a beautiful ROM.

That's actually irksome because what the heck is supposed to be in that blank space at the bottom now?

Did you try settings> launcher> drawer> transition effect. There is bunch of other options there. I use nova launcher and the option is there to change it as well. Try to change in launcher settings if not get a different launcher like Nova ..practically identical to trebuchet launcher.. they have differences but very similar!

No placebo effect here. My gps locks in 6-15 seconds consistently today where I could not even get a lock in the prior two nightlys. Didn't reset or download new data... just ran gps status..

So I can do this with SetCPU and Tasker?

Edit: NM, I found the setting in the Task, Edit, ADD, MISC, CPU. I added CPU0 to ONDEMAND (which is apparently what the default is) and MIN to 500000 and max to 800000. I've also changed Screen Brightness to ~75% (190 of 255). We'll see if that makes a difference.

I use a SetCPU profile for "Charging AC" with a limit of 800.

It would be nice to treat "dock" and "AC" separately though. :(

Yes it would be very nice. Like a "Dock/USB" and "Dock/AC" that's defined by the mA. I'm assuming this is a _lot_ harder than it seems, otherwise, it'd be done by now.

I asked this question a few pages back, but what about USB Audio in the CM9 kernel? My ultimate goal is a way to get the phone to charge, have Nav and music going at the same time (all in the car). The quality of the audio out of the dock port is nice, but is susceptible to alternator noise. I think a USB Audio DAC device would work better. But I'm not sure if it's possible to charge the phone while using a USB DAC. If it's possible, I need to find a DAC that is just a pre-amp and not a full fledged headphone amp.

I want to thank the devs for all the hard work they're putting into this. CyanogenMod is an amazing achievement. Thank you so much!

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (ICS), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:

     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

First time installing CyanogenMod 9 to your AT&T Galaxy S II (SGH-I777), or coming from another ROM:
    - READ FAQs: http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.php/Experimental:GT-I9100:Frequently_Asked_Questions
    - Make sure you're running SGH-I777 bootloaders only (only the ones that are specifically released for the SGH-I777 -- official Gingerbread bootloaders work fine!) and a proper working CWM like the one from CM7
    - Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Flash CM9 zip
    - Flash GApps zip
    - DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
    - Reboot
    - Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!

Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9:
    - Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Flash CM9 zip
    - Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
    - Reboot

    STOP!!!

What I don't quite get is why there are nightly builds of this ROM but no fix yet to the audio bug.

Overall it is a pretty sweet ROM, and compared to the leaked ATT ICS ROM it kicks ass. The att rom is a bugging bloat ridden piece of crap.

The audio bug impacts the ROM as a daily driver, so much works right about the ROM but this bug in particular makes it a pain to use. Being able to receive a text while listening to streaming music and receiving a notification and have the music return to the previous sound level just does not seem like too much to ask.
Because this "bug" hasn't impacted any developers and we've got a ton of other things to fix.

ICS KERNEL SOURCE HAS ONLY BEEN OUT THREE WEEKS.

IT HAD FUNDAMENTAL STABILITY BUGS WE DIDN'T FIND FIXES FOR UNTIL DAYS AGO.

THIS WEEKEND IS EASTER AND SOME OF US HAD HOLIDAY PREP TO DO LAST WEEK. WE HAVE OUR OWN LIVES YOU KNOW!

WE DON'T EXIST TO SERVE YOU.

Submit a fix to gerrit or stop *****ing and wait!
    15
codeworkx's tree is untested - it keeps derping. Looks like I'll have to temporarily rip out NFC.

It's 1:35 AM, I'm about to go to bed regardless of whether it builds or not.
    14
TriangleAway can be used on ICS to reset the flash counter.

Video recording upgrades are not merged in yet - it's in progress. No ETAs, but it's close. Don't ask when, of course - there are many reasons why a patch that works on our device will get rejected until rewritten in a way that doesn't break other devices.

A major dock audio cleanup by StevenHarperUK is in progress. It's working on my device now, so it's a matter of getting through code review.

I submitted a new kernel to gerrit that fixes stability issues when changing cpufreq min/max limits (e.g. fixes SetCPU profiles).

I'm going to hop over to TW-land for a while to do some stuff, then I think I might play with NFC.

    Great. So 4/20 ****S **** UP AGAIN!

More mount point changes? Now all my gameloft apps that I JUST fixed last night are redownloading app data again. Same with my dropbox, as well as my spotify AGAIN.

Why are they doing this!!!??? THIS IS 2 TIMES I'M gonna have to RESTORE to get my **** right again. I mean, I get the first swap of mount points. It was needed to match other devices, but it's royally screwed my device. AGAIN!

Maybe some warning in PLAIN ENGLISH is in order. I'm about to give up on CM9.

get lost. your post is ridiculous. is this your rom? did you take any part in the development of this rom? NO and NO!!! how do you have any right to ***** or complain about something that you have NOTHING to do with? YOU DON'T! if you don't like it, FIX IT YOURSELF and submit it to gerritt and see if your changes get merged. either do something about it yourself or switch to a different rom. its that easy. no one forced you to use this rom. your post doesn't get you any closer to your solution so i'm not quite sure why you even posted this bull**** other then to complain about something that you have no right or control over. think about it.
