Installed Quarx : 13/4 on Normal Red Defy. On computer SD card is not detected , any idea ?

I had same problem on one of my PC's. (Second with same system worked well :p)
USB connection works well if you disable USB debugging but its powning the Android :p

Here is what I found on polish forum (it may be from here anyway):
"Right My Computer and select properties. Goto device manager. And locate MTP USB Device. Right click and choose select update driver. Select 'browse my computer for drivers' and then choose "Let me pick drivers to install". You will get two options select the USB controllers and click OK and you are done. "

I don't think so: Defy doesn't have a frontal camera, and even if it could be tweaked to use the rear camera, it would be terribly awkward :D.
Just imagine: going to a random stranger to ask him to point the camera at your face so you could use your phone.

Trimis de pe Defy CM9

We could start to walk with our Defy and some little mirror (like a pouder one) to unlock the phone. :D

Charged battery all night. Was at %99 when I left for work. 8 hours later and Im at %4!!!! That is with minimal use really. With CM7 I would probably be around %60 or so right now. The weird thing is I remember seeing it at around %35 or so and then the next time I looked (30 minutes or so) it was at like %14! What do you guys think is wrong? This is totally unacceptable!

Thanks...

Looks like a deep sleep problem.

There is way to deactivate the CRT power off animation on last quarxs build?

I was using his April 13 build and it had fade-out animation (like all of Quarx's builds)

Deep sleep/battery problems:
-Try doing a complete wipe and then reinstall (wipe data / cache / dalvik)
-You can do a cache and dalvik wipe without reinstalling, that might help, too
-when in Bootmenu, check CPU settings, see if it's set to Ondemand and if it Loads all modules (if you change anything - press save before going back)
-If all of these don't help, you might want to try changing your kernel (although I think it doesn't cause the battery emptying problem, since I'm not using any of the recommended ("walter's" or CM9) ones and still have a battery life of 2 or 3 days (deep sleep is working).

roll back to CM7?

Hi,
I was wondering if i could downgrade to CM7? I was previously using CM7.1 and was quite happy with it. (I have a green lens defy)
I have only followed the steps as described in the first post of this thread, and only used the flashable zip files (links of which were given on the first post). So please lemme know if its safe to downgrade.. are the following steps correct...

1. Copy CM7.1 flashable zip to SD card.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. Wipe Data.. Cache... and Dalvik.
4. Install zip from SD card. CM7.1 ( i have installed froyo kernel previously while flashing CM9)
5. Flash "old" Gapps.
6. wipe cache... Dalvik..
7. Reboot.

???

Just to put this on record... i had an amazing time with ICS and CM9, thanks to all the devs.. but usable as it may be, a few quirky issues make me wanna go back to CM7.

That should be working ;)

I appreciate everything the developers have done with CM9 and I mean no disrespect, I just cant have this bad of battery life. Who knows what my issue is but it looks like Im going to have to go back to CM7 or miui as I already had the battery die twice:(

for those people having problems, wipe data cache and dalvik cache, then install cm9/cm7 kernel, ics rom or ics+ rom, gapps and then again flash the kernel (dont know if it should only be done once but i always do it first and last, then reboot and everything should go fine, if you install on top of other roms or keep your app data this can cause problems

to end with, after reading a few pages I totally realized we will NEVER have HWA in our defys... but, Is motorola planning on releasing ICS for defy +? If it is, wouldnt this mean that HWA would be enabled on all defy users?

To end with, if we dont get HWA never on our defys, there will still be RC of the ICS rom right? If we reach a point every bug has been solved except by the disabled HWA, wouldnt it be considered as a RC or Final Version Rom? Just like cm 7.1 from quarx where everything is great except for the 720p which never was enabled

according to motorola's site Defy+ will remain on gingerbread that means no ics will every come officially from motorola for defy +

I think, without hwa no one will be using ICS. because, without hwa we would not be able to do some of the basic everyday tasks in ics (like flash player) . Also in near future most of the app developers for ics will be integrating hwa features in their products. So without hwa ics will of no use, before ics was even released ,hwa was the most exciting feature of it. But I still believe our talented devs will ultimately find some way to make it work.

TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS

I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
    1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds

2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
    These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above

3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

+ICS bugs (all kernel versions) http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1381887

ok, you know what? i tired of this. I'm reading in all kinds all replys (here and in other threads/PM): from good job to being dissapointed by the way i manage(update) this thread. I'm sorry for those of you who are dissapointed (but bear in mind that i do this for free, in my spare time, for you) and lots of thanks for those of you who appreciate my efforts in keeping this as "up-to-date" as I can. But I can't do this no more... users are getting upset for being to much threads about this, and since I'm not the developer nor have anything to do with the development of ICS, I will ask a moderator to close and archive this thread.

It was nice while it lasted. See you around:) Cheers!

Comes with Google Apps pre installed
    Added Defy ROM Updater
Camera one step foward: There is shutter opening sound( or something of that sort ), Camera app doesn't just Force Close anymore. Still cannot connect to camera
    UI is somewhat faster.

    What is Defy ROM Updater?
A ROM Manager like app, it allows to
    Check for updates
Perform all wipes( Davlik, app, data )
    Backuping and Restoring the ROM
    Entering Recovery Mode.

    29-Jan-2012:
     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
    UI is much faster
    3G Works rather well
Added Interface: Launcher, Interface:Themes, Launcher:System in settings
    Added Personal:Profiles in Settings
    Added System:Performance in Settings
Camera very very soon - when you usually open camera, there is that sound, in this build, it has that sound but camera app force closes.
Added Music app( CyanogenMod 7 )
Added Dev Tools - ( don't remember it in previous version, perhaps I am mistaken )

    12-Jan-2012:
    -Fix wifi
    -Dual Storage Notification
    -APNs

    11-Jan-2012:
    -Fix sensors
    -mms.apk
    -music.apk
    -pin-code...etc

thanks for the reports, i fixed the apn window (merge problem, aosp 4.0.4 merge was not fast-forward) and the wifi off from notification bar by a temporary hack...

for the video, its still very sensible code, and our device familly (omap3) is almost fully ignored by cyanogenmod team ....

bootmenu and Usb apps have now the official ICS branch, but wifi camera and codecs will be a hell again to be merged...

This build is test of hwa with some fixes..
Fully hwa we can use only after new gl libs, but for now we can't use new libs(thanks to moto for that)
On defy+ hwa completely unstable, than on defy.
