Yes - at the end of the day, after trying a few different kernels, I keep going back to stock. Seems to have the best balance of battery life and performance. For my needs, anyway.
Tried out Franco's for a while though, then moved to Paul's again. Didn't wipe, probably the issue?

Nope, wiping is not the issue, at least not when you switch between kernels.
Anyway good to know, I was afraid there is issue with paul's kernel.
Hadn't given it chance to deep sleep. Have done since, seems fine. No issues with CPU on francos.

so wait...
paul's kernel - no deep sleep and no 700mhz frequency
franco kernel -no deep sleep
right?
Here is mine with stock 1.4.0 kernel I set a profile in set CPU to allow Max speed of 350mhz when screen is off. Don't know how to see deep sleep. As you can see I barely used my phone. Network was set to lte/cdma. What do you think? I lost 64% over 9hrs 46mins and only 35 mins of screen on
Edit: I will try 1 more cycle of normal use to compare then the next cycle will be with lte turned off throughout the entire cycle

Seems that paul's kernel isn't battery friendly... Flash stock one
I don't have the stock one just your from zip files. Can I just pull the zimage from your rom and place it in the correct spot with root explorer and reboot?
