if you need to change the script you can find and edit the 00tweaks on /system/etc/init.d

I replaced the vm management tweak with the Juwe script. I attached the 00tweaks, as I modified it. Is it going to mess it up?

EDIT: it seems to work well. I get 120 MB free with none active app and 80 MB free with 6 active ones.
take a look at the screenshots.

Any hint how to restore the task manager widget?

I get the backup here http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=16468564&postcount=3 and I put the SamsungWidget_ProgramMonitor .apk and .odex file in /system/app but nothing happened.

Then I realized that the giopro rom is deodexed, so I try to deodex the apk with this tool http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=13254199&postcount=3
...unsuccessfully.

EDIT: I didn't take into account the permissions. I downloaded the deodexed apps here http://android.modaco.com/topic/342...ned-xxjvq-files/page__p__1749567#entry1749567. I put the SamsungWidget_ProgramMonitor.apk in /system/app and set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot.

The widget is restored, but it doesn't work. It displays as none app is running.

EDIT 2 [RESOLVED]: I extracted the deodexed file from giopro 1.1 (attached) and I followed the same procedure above.

1. download the zip attached to my previous post
2. extract it in the sd card
3. download and open root explorer
4. navigate to /sdcard and hold the file 00tweaks until it appears the menu, then choose "move".
5. navigate to /system/etc/init.d, press the "mount r/w" button, then the "paste" button and finally "yes" when it asks to overwrite.
6. be sure the file permissions are set to rwxrwxrwx
7. press "mount r/o" and then reboot

yes thats why i can delete the original file but copying is not happening

be sure to not quit the app. if you copy the modified 00tweaks and you paste it in the /system/etc/init.d either you get a warning (the folder is read-only) or it asks to overwrite the original 00tweaks, if it is already there.

no, I replaced the vm management script in the 00tweaks with the juwe script.
the 00tweaks contains other optimization scripts.

Ok thanks. I applied your modifies 00tweaks.
Anyway I notice lags... same as in 1.1
big free memory with this rom (about 89MB or more all the time), but slower.

regarding running apps widget, I restored it from previous backup using titanium, and it works. ;)

Is 1.2 really faster on your mobile? No lags or any other problem?

Guide

Sorry I'm still newbie in flashing. I think instruction in the first page is not updated.

Code:

OPS = GIO_v1.0.ops
Boot = APBOOT_S5660XXKPA_CL258140_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
Phone = MODEM_S5660XXKP7_CL258140_REV03.tar.md5
PDA = PDA_GIOPRO_v1.1_CL258140_REV03.tar.md5
CSC = GT-S5660-csc-SERKP4.tar.md5

I want to install Giopro 1.2 and update It to 1.3
Should I use GIO_v1.2.ops or GIO_v1.0.ops ?
Should I download Gingerbread 2.3.3 official or 2.3.4 unofficial for "Boot", "Phone", and "CSC" ?

I have download Gioprox v1.2 from the first page but once I've extraced the rar files, It give me GioPro_v1_2.tar, GIO_v1.2.ops, and Odin_Multi_Downloader_v4.42.exe. Where I can find
PDA_GIOPRO_v1.1_CL258140_REV03.tar.md5
GT-S5660-csc-SERKP4.tar.md5
MODEM_S5660XXKP7_CL258140_REV03.tar.md5
APBOOT_S5660XXKPA_CL258140_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
Thank you.

    I have some questions:
    . Does this ROM support swap partition? With the GIO we'll need this feature.
    . Do I need to backup my SD card as this is the first time I use darktremor and from the look of thing I need to partition my SD card right? Can you elaborate on how to use this feature?

    Thanks.

    it not support swap yet.
    for using a2sd darktremor you need to make partition on your sdcard first before flashing, after you finish flashing just run a2sd cachesdreset from adb.

    @rahulmaxi01: You did it wrong so you're still on the old ROM, try to redo the instruction to the letters and if still fail search for guides on using Odin.

    @maconcasper: If you don't wanna use adb and want to use terminal emulator like me this is how I did it:
    . Follow Rachmat3's instruction on partitioning your SD card.
    . Follow the flash guide to step 4, before step 5 that you don't understand.
    . After your phone booted, get into market and install android terminal emulator.
    . Start android terminal emulator
    . Type in "su", allow it elevates
    . Type in "a2sd cachesdreset", you should see a bunch of text scrolling and your phone restarting with a2sd enabled. You might want to use the other command.

    If you did it wrong, the phone might get into a boot loop, just flash it again and remember to follow the instructions by words.

    @mnaveed: You haven't enabled a2sd with "a2sd cachesdreset" so it crashes, read the instructions by Rachmat3 (using adb) or mine (using terminal emulator) again
