What is the latest modem if I am running ICS Passion v.12?
Just updated yesterday from stock 2.1... huge difference, not to sure which modem from the recommended page i need to flash.

Does anyone know where I can get the KA6 modem, the op links are broken?

Sorry, the link was for standard Samsung Vibrant KA6 modem, not the ICS KA6 build.
If you are running froyo then I'm not sure that the ICS build will work?

Are you running an ICS rom? Or can I use the ICS KA6 build on froyo?

On latest CM7 nightly. Just wondering if there is a recommended modem. Also, previous phones I have had never mention 'modem' in the forums. I have upgrade 'radios' for other phones. Can this upgrading the 'modem' be considered similar?

Also, how can I tell what modem I am currently on?

EDIT:Is it the last 3 characters of the baseband id?

Hi,

I flashed cm7.2 and then the KB5 modem, my wifi signal is very weak, does it have to do with the modem or the modem is only the cellular network? Thx.

    Out of all the 2.2 modems, JK6 is deffinately the best. I used ODIN to install JL1, it is horrible. Jk6 I had the best battery life, and the STRONGEST 3G signal. Since flashing JL6 I'm constantly on edge again. Going back to Jk6!

    well the modem controls voice and data connections.
    so a good modem would give you a steady internet connection, a better signal, and can help improve battery life.

    Just because a modem is newer doesn't necessarily mean it's better.
