Do I need to make wipe before flashing this kernel?

Just cache and dalvik ...

After flashing on Beta5, Beta6 + suggested kernel from Beta7 I see a very big difference in speed comparing to Beta6 on original kernel. Can't yet say if it is better than Beta5 but It have a big chance. For now on it will be my DD till next release.

Thank You very much for hard work. It's getting better and better :)

I just flashed BETA6+kernelBETA7 (wiped cache and dalvik) and it feels a bit smoother and snappier then BETA5.

Camcorder is still not working, it starts filming and as soon as you stop filming it crashes the camera and then the camera can't be started anymore till a reboot. I tried this 3 times in a row. Restarting tribuchet didn't help either.

Yup, same problem here when recording 720p - except it doesn't even start recording, it just looks like it does. Sort of.
But compared to earlier versions, which had horrible artifacts, that's a nice advancement, I think.

480p seems to work perfectly though.

BETA6 + KernelBETA7 is definitely faster then BETA5.

Though I'm missing the option to disable the shuttersound when making a picture with the camera. I'm not sure if this option was available on BETA5 but i do remember BETA5 having more camera options then BETA6.
Am i overlooking this option or is it simply missing?

VM Notificantion issues with some carriers

Having voice mail notification issue with my carrier (Mobilicity in Canada), I am not getting notified a voicemail is left in my account. This is not a a carrier bug.

This issue was present in earlier releases of cynogenmod ROMS, http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?can=2&start=0&num=100&q=&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Version%20Model%20Network%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars%20Priority&groupby=&sort=&id=2801 and a fix was found and recently implemented into CM7.2 RC2. Fix here: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/13322/

I tried this CM9 ROM along with Andromadus Audacity ICS ROM and both have this issue. Makes sense since both are using official CM9 as their base. Since there is no official CM9 for G2 and Desire Z I am posting in this forum.

Would really appreciate it if the cooks of this ROM can look into this and patch it if possible.

Thank you and keep up the GREAT work so far!

I just have to post this to help anyone out. I was having problems with bad lag from Beta 5 to 6 ... Went back to 5 and things seemed ok but it wasn't as good as it was before I flashed beta 6.

I was reading reviews from everyone about the new Kernal 3.0 and decided to flash it. Was getting really bad lag again until I re-installed busybox. I just went to the market and searched for it and re-installed it. Lag is now gone! I believe it had a lot to do with the V6 SuperCharging. Just letting anyone know if there having problems they might want to re-install busybox.

Thanks for this awesome rom! I love it. I'm running B6 with the B7 Kernel.

I have one problem, and its occurred with either kernel.

On receiving phone calls, the phone automatically goes to speakerphone, If I take it off speakerphone, the caller can't hear me until I mute then unmute the system.

any thoughts?

(I skimmed the entire thread and searched for speakerphone issues before posting)

Thanks for this, but I have a couple of things to ask. Did you flash the 3.0 kernel over your beta 5? Which version of busybox did you install? No wifi problems or issues with the camera?

On another note, I really hope the issue with the touch screen gets fixed soon, gaming is really fast but over time, screen becomes unresponsive or inaccurate. A reboot solves it, but only temporarily.

Beta 5 flashed 3.0 kernal and installed BusyBox 1.20.0-Stericson (from market) ... Currently NO problems with WiFI (on it right now =) and I used 2 different camera.apks (Oringal from CM7 (works) and the download Camera ICS from market does not (black visibility))

I agree about the touch screen. I've noticed that issue as well after time it starts becoming a problem, but reboot always fixes it.

Hopefully this helps

Thanks a lot! I'm going to try that as well. I found Beta 6 to be really laggy and unresponsive to touch so I had to flash back to 5. I just have so many apps and settings to setup that's why as much as possible, I do not want to do a full wipe.

why not use titanium backup to backup all your apps and their settings? i too couldn't take the lag and unresponsiveness of cm9 beta 6, so i flashed back to cm7.1...

I do. I have been using TiBackup for such a long time now. I just have hundreds of apps, and thousands of sms. Restoring from a backup is such a pain. As of nos, this is my only phone, and the downtime is not acceptable since I also use it for work. I can only afford a full wipe and restore from backup when I do have enough time. :(

If anyone else is having lag issues with V6 SuperCharger with this ROM's BETA's check your 3G Turbo settings in the driver menu. I had it On and it was really messing with the lag on my phone.

I turned it off and it's smooth as ever now.

Evidence suggests that it actually is.
If the function works with some carriers and not others (my wife has VM and notifications DO work on her CM9'd doubleshot on Wind), then by definition, it must be related to a difference in the specific carrier implementation. Patching the source to work around a defective carrier implementation of VARIOUS functions, is not uncommon.

Note that I'm not suggesting that this patch not be included, just correcting you on your description of it.

I would also like to point out that this patch was made to CM, not AOSP.

Are games like GTA3/Shadowgun working in Beta8 without phone hangup? From Beta2 to Beta7 it wasn't working. Also on Sense4 ports, Andromadus and AOKP this bug is present, seems to be ICS related issue.

If still bugged, can you fix that? It's really important to me because I want to switch to ICS from CM7 but this bug is annoying for everyday use :(.

Sorry for the inactivity, i have buy a laptop for cheap and i was configuring a build environment for ICS, who may work with JellyBean too.
I have succeeded to build ICS from scratch and now i'm almost ready for a new release, need to fix and update the 3.0 kernel before any new release, the frame buffer is broken at this moment. and the WI-FI hotspot have been fix. :victory:

A lot of people say that i should make a CM10 build to have more chose..
Like blk_jack have say earlier i'm using some Andromadus commit for my kang.
Well my CM10 build will look a lot like Flinny test build but mine will be more proper, more CM10 related, less

If you would like that i make a CM10 kang. Click on thanks!! :highfive:
    7
Well I'm going back to CM7.
This is not a working rom actually.
Backup functions and Google Account should be INTEGRATED IN the rom, not installed separatelly.
I can't install any working app from the store without gaps and I can't install gaps without an explorer. Stupid. And if I install Titanium Bckp from an apk that does NOT work propelly. Titanium is being shut down every time I run it (after about 30 secconds of using it).
    That sucks!

And Could anyone EXPLAIN me why the rom does not have these features included???
Maybe I don't understand something here.

    greetings

You're acting like a complete dummy who can't figure out the basics of flashing ROMs 101. Seriously, read some of the stickied posts and stop ignoring the advice people have already given you in this thread.

To summarize for you, not that I think you'll read this reply but I might as well give it a go:

    1. CyanogenMod cannot bundle gapps with their ROMs due to Google (licensing restrictions)
    2. You flash gapps through your recovery, just like you do when installing a ROM
    3. You can create a flashable zip from within Titanium Backup that you can flash with your ROM to have TiBu automatically installed w/o market access

Honestly though, I think you really should stick w/ stock. There are things you have to do to install ICS properly (make sure your partitions are ext4, etc) that I simply don't think you're equipped enough to handle. As they say, KISS.

Hey don't let this post die
I'm still working on it ;)

New major change will be :
    -Lord Clockan's kernel
    -Panorama Camera
    -ICS audio with MIC working
and the last but not the least
    -CyanogenMod 9 Boot Animation @ 75FPS

with all the new things from cyanogen git :)

will try OMX integrated before any new release, but if you make pressure for a new release i will do it :)

any tips how to get camera flash working ?

    terminal app > su > chmod 777 /sys/camera_led_status/led_ril_status
