@GtrCraft

Couldn't flash Validus with the latest version of TWRP 3.2.1.1, it gave an assert error. I was able to flash it by deleting the first line in the updater-script. GZOSP doesn't have that assert line and therefore it flashed straightaway. Figured I should let you know. Maybe an earlier version of TWRP works???

Also, the camera in video mode has some tearing on the left side during playback. I could be wrong but it may have something to do with the kernel, as I see you are using the DU kernel and DU for Hammerhead exhibits the same tearing. EDIT: Just tried a couple more N5 8.1 roms and they also had the same video tearing, so maybe something other than the kernel. Hopefully, the devs will figure it out.

First impressions overall, the rom looks real good.

Anyway, thanks a bunch for making a comeback on Hammerhead with your GZ builds. Appreciate it.

Mike T

EDIT: Sorry for the false alarm, flashed again with the same TWRP 3.2.1.1, this time it worked. :p

I had an error 7 when flashing Validus with an older TWRP, it flashed just fine once I updated to the latest TWRP

Also, I recommend using GZR gapps

I replied to your post on G+ that I'm using the latest TWRP that I'm aware of, 3.2.1.1. Maybe a weird glitch. Although I'm up and running with the rom, I'm gonna' flash again and see what happens. Thanks.

Mike T

EDIT: Flashed again with TWRP 3.2.1.1, this time it worked. So, must have been a one time glitch.

Great to see a new Oreo ROM for Hammerhead. Does anybody know if Bluetooth audio streaming is working? Thanks

No idea, I was able to send a file via Bluetooth to another device just fine but I don't use Bluetooth for streaming. Give it a try and let us know

I also see some tearing in video as described here. Not much issue as personally i don't use Video recording at all.

Otherwise 1st impression is great.

Thanks a lot @GtrCraft for keeping HH alive. :)

I would be checking some other camera apps and other features for 1/2 days and will be back with detail feedback/reports if i find something out of order.

Edit : Sorry but what's the difference between Validus & GZOSP ? one is in beta other is in alpha

Edit2 : I think i got the answer, GZOSP is almost like vanilla AOSP without features which serves as base for Validus.

Edit3 : Anyone feel low sound volume ? it's same in DU beta as well.

Nice ROM, working OK from clean install.
Bluetooth calling still has distortion and so is unusable until a fix can be implemented.
Keep up the good work.
