NOTICE!!! V5 For the Sensation!!!!

Go here for the new based on CM10 4.1.2 JB of MIUI V5 officially supported by Xiaomi

Because of this and the speed it had I am not going to release a new version any longer because it no longer has crap in it. Well a little, but a little bit with root explorer and its gone.

Just like I did on the Hero waaay back. I am gonna do something for the Sensation community aswell.

Here I present to you a Sense based MIUI V4 ROM that has been modified to be more MIUI and less Sense.

Disclamer

All the stuff all the other devs say about breaking/bricking/blowing up ect ect ect. That can not happen when you install this rom.

Now to the ROM​


This ROM is based on the latest ROM from MIUIAndroid.com and a lot of help from HyperNonSense.

Whats changed to the origional:​

* Removed useless HTC Libs
* Removed useless HTC Bootanimation
* Removed HTC apps
* Replaced playstore APK with Phonesky.apk from the latest GAPPS
* Replaced HTC_IME with Latin_IME with dictionaries
* Removed apps like Maps and Youtube (get the latest from the market)
* Removed Adobe flash player HTC Based stuff
* Removed Location database for HTC Weather
* Removed some sort of games based ETC files (had no idea what those are for, but they where big..)
* Added Overclocked Kernel 1.5.2 with USB OTG By SebastianFM
* Added PYD-X Kernel by XxXPachaXxX​


That looks not much but it slimmed down the ROM over 100 MB and still everything works like it should. just think what it would load up and wont use... So the ROM feels faster.

Bugs​


* If you guys restore with MIUI backup as of now it also restores the account data for the google account you have set in the backup if you backed that up. In my case the play store did not download a thing, so when you restore your backup do not restore account stuff. Cuss that will break it and you need to do a factory reset.

Q&A

Q: When will you update this Rom?
A: If MIUI Android releases a new version and the LangPack for the same version is out. And I have some spare time of course.

Q: What do you suggest when updating this rom?
A: Full wipe always. Then you have almost 0 problems. At least I don't.

Q: Is there an easy way to do a full wipe and restore setting and 3th party apps on MIUI?
A: Yes!! MIUI Backup, Use it, love it, marry it!!!! :p Just kidding but it is awesome!!

Q: Why is SuperSU not included from the start?
A: This ROM is MIUI so I keep it like that as much as possible. If you want SuperSU, flash the SuperSU pack from the ad-dons part.

Q: Is Beats included?
A: No, and it will never have.

Q: I still get some Chinese parts, how do I get rid of them?
A: Like most know MIUI is Chinese based, and to get rid of that someone has to translate it, and re-release the app or framework file first.

Q: I still see HTC looking stuff like the cursor in some apps and the popup boxes, Aint this MIUI?
A: Sense based ROM and MIUI on top. That is why there are still some Sense looking parts in the ROM.

Q: Some framework look so Gingerbread... Why Gingerbread, Where is the Jellybean look??
A: I checked and that look is the official MIUI look. So that is why.

Q: I live outside the EU, is there a way for a faster GPS fix for me?
A: Sure there is, I live in NL and I still change the file to NL servers for a faster fix using FasterGPS from the Play store.

If someone has anymore fun, handy or weird FAQ questions let me know :D

- I love AOSP Stickman89's MIUI because stability and fast.
- I love Sense MIUIAndroid because battery, but hate sense 3.6 camera.
- I love ViperS ROM because Sense 4 camera.
Is there any possibility to make MIUI fast as AOSP MIUI, with battery consumption of MIUIAndroid and with camera of sense 4 ??? :D

Is the HomeScreen is of Sense or MIUI ?

Weather widgets, Clock/weather widgets of Sense is in it ? with animation ? :confused:

Everything is like miui, home, widgets and rest. Only one thing from Sense is camera, in AOSP version you have AOSP camera and in sense version sense camera. Rest (except battery life and speed) is the same.

I like the Sense 4 cam more aswell, but that kinda needs a Sense 4 based rom. Cuss I myself got no idea what is needed to get the Sense 4 cam running.

can i just wipe cache and dalvik then flash this rom?

im already on the miuiandoid miui rom..

hope you dont develop this rom for a few weeks and just up and leave like other miui devs.. im really liking what youre doing here

installed it 10 minutes ago and off the bat im loving this rom more than the aosp/cm9 version

it seems a little bit sluggish compared to the aosp/cm9 version though

what is the "recommend" app? i click it and its nothing lol

ALSO, does this contain the HQ camera tweak?
since this is a sense base, i can have sweep2wake?

not to sound like a noob (its more laziness than noobiness) but what benefits are there in using a sense base?

For me battery. Hardware support like it should be.

And more sluggish. I don't really have that problem its nice and fast for me. Like the aosp rom.

And yes the HTC keyboard will come soon. I'll release an add on first but that won't have the dictionaries in. Only English. Need to compare 2 roms to find out what files I need to get it fully working.

And I'm stuck with my sensation for more then a year from now and I love miui so I'm not leaving this rom anytime soon :p

great awesome..!! :highfive:

yea the battery on miuiandoid is amazing.. when my phone is 100% charged before work, i dont touch it for about 3-4 hours.. when i wake my phone, its still at 100% ... i get 12-15 hours easy on moderate to heavy use.

and yes, you can flash the camera mod -- i did. (replying to the guy that asked)

--- Oh and jager, my college connection has blocked mediafire. any way you could possibly upload via another host? much appreciated if ya can!

can't flash new kernels...

After installing this ROM, I tried to flash three different Sense kernels and all failed with the "assert failed" message...can't write boot img. Any ideas?

    Ok sorry for the lack of updates guys. Good news though just made a new one based on the latest one :D so that is the good news :D

    Bad news its even snappier then the last version. Upping now

    Planned for next release, IME changes, Just an idea for now.

    I know the rom can be faster and all that but I want good batterylife and the stock kernel, well mostly stock with stock settings do that for me :D so that is why I am not going to include any other kernel.

    if you want another one install one :D Keep in mind sense based kernel is needed!!


    And as usual if you run into any problems post here and Ill see if I can get a fix out :D

    Update comming in the late evening, net morning. Nice MIUI Changelog here

    Ill check your theme problem then if it is still there.

    And I will include SebastianFM latest kernel. The reason for this. It is based on stock and somehow those run the best on my phone and he has some nice feature in it wich I like :D, but using it is like special but just for the fun off it. Faux and bricked make my phone run hot for no reason and sebastian's doesnt.

    And themes do work on my current build.

    I have decided since Members(and a numer behind his name is going to do what I have been doing for the past few weeks that I am gonna turn this project around. And to see if that fixes the most anoying bug for me. I am gonna change this rom in a HyperMIUI. Something like HyperNonSense but then for MIUI. I thought it was a nice idea and I wonder what speed we can get out of it. Since I sucsesfully ported MIUI JB and did a rebase on Android Revolution HD yesterday I can do that on Hypernonsense aswell. And some other nice speedy roms.
