Hi,

I've just updated Xperia to R2AA10 [UK Generic] and had no problems with instaling SPB Mobile Shell...

SPB MShell

Hi guys, I´ve just flashed the above mentioned new ROM and 2 my surprise there´s no SPB Mobile Shell. Anybody any idea what might possibly happen?

x1 ROM update

Hi there.
Firstly I'd like to say thanks to everyone who's provided help and support to the x1 users like myself. Big thanks to Pavel.

I received my x1 about 2months ago from o2 with their customized firmware on it. The phone worked well with a few bugs like all new phones but most importantly it was reasonably quick.

I decided it wouldn't do any harm to update to the new generic UK firmware as o2 haven't released their update yet.
My update process was as follows:
1. Downloaded the X1i_GENERIC_UK_CDF1215-1832_R2AA010
2. Extracted the file on to my desktop
3. Renamed the file to Kovsimg.nbh
4. Put it on the root of my SD card
5. Turned off the phone and started it up with the volume button and power button pressed
6. X1 found the file and I asked it to install it.
7. X1 finished installing and showed "installation complete" then did nothing.
8. After pushing all the buttons on the X1 I decided to take out the battery and pop it back in and hey presto the phone starts up. (Thats where I think I went wrong)

I check to see if the phone registered its new firmware update which it does.
but now the phone is really slow and laggy. links to the comm managed on my today screen have been removed and it generally feels like I've taken a step backwards.
I'm starting to think I should have gone with the old "If it aint broke, don't fix it"

Hope someone can help me resolve this!

just for reference I went from
X1i_O2_UK_CDF1215-3293_R1AA020
to
X1i_GENERIC_UK_CDF1215-1832_R2AA010
I live in the UK and I'm an o2 customer.

AKU Version?

Hello.

Sorry, but I couldn't find this information by the topic search:

Could someone tell me, which AKU Versions are inside the ROM updates?
I have installed the official german update one month ago with the SE update tool and my version information says 1.03.932.6 from 12/09/08. But the AKU Version still seems to be 1.2.60 (CE OS 5.2.19608 Build 19608.1.2.60).

There is a known hugh problem with activesync, which should be fixed in AKU Versions higher then 1.4 - so it would be nice to have an official ROM with this version.

Is this Generic_AU really Generic or Customized? If I flash this on my UK, can I just flash back to UK or is this more difficult then that SD method?

Please help me, I am almost hopeless now

I had my X1 with Dutch ROM, so I had it Hard-SPL, and it confirmed 0.72.Oli.Nex
After that, I tried to flash a new English ROM on my PC, but it fall at 10% (ROM Code error).
I had to use MTTY to boot it, so that problem was solved, but the WinCE OS seemed to be destroyed during the process, so when I turned on the phone, it always stuck at the SonyE Bootscreen.

And then, I bought a microSD and formatted it with FAT32, download a ROM,extract it to .img file, change the name and filetype to Kovsimg.nbh, copy the ROM to microSD, flash it, but it said No Image Found

Please, please help me
Please tell me what I have to do now.

My X1 doesn't have any guarranty

YEAH!!! Finally Polish ROM!!! I just flashed with Touch-IT v.4.0 but I will definately try that one out THANKS A LOT M8!!!

big problem in the installation of Rom. In the menu camera all the entries are wrong.

should i update...!!!

hi, yesterday i received my X1 from Carphone Warehouse in UK on O2... I am wondering if you guys recommend upgrading and what will be the reasons for the upgrade... whats fixed with the new rom...

My current spec:
Rom Version: 1.02.931.3 (R1AA017)
1215-1832
Generic_UK

I compared the size of generic uk r2aa010 (150mb) and generic it r2a008 (203mb).
There is a difference of 50mb!

However I'll try to flash tomorrow.

You must have 'strange' versions.... mine are both over 200 MB !

Is it not your zip file of the UK Rom that is 150mb and then the extracted image is around 200mb too?
