NEW ORIGINAL X1 ROMS update 3.2.2010

For people doubting the 'official release' of these new ROMs, if you go to the official X1 site http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/index.aspx?en-gb and click X1 forums down the bottom you go to this site: http://xperiancers.com/.

It advises that the ROMs have been released and available for download from the Support Site (directs you to download from SEUS) so everyone that is downloading from there with the 'Update Anyway', it looks like this is the official updates. Close to being straight from SE's mouth. It even takes you to the 'fansite' which gives a shout to XDA!

I've installed the Generic UK R2A ROM and did a full restore using SPB Backup, in ROM Update Mode, and so far everything is working fine.

The device does feel more responsive, startup is faster, memory usage is lower by another 4-5%, opening and switching Panels is faster too, and screen rotation is also smoother but some small lags still present. The default browser is now Opera Mobile, and there is a GoogleSearch bar in the Today Panel.

Overall, I'm quite happy with this new ROM update.

I flased my X1 to UK R2A rom last night, and it works perfectly. The start up speed is faster, smooth running and no problems on Wifi at all.
I can connect within 5 seconds and watch video on Youtube perfectly! Are you guys sure the connective problem is due to the new R2A rom?

I suspect that those different issues with the "same" Generic_UK R2A Firmware has to do with the fact that the currently floating one is a 'certain' customization.

Mine for example was a different one before (the customization!) and I had none of those problems! Now I have them!

So perhaps the people that experience "better performance" have had also a different FW customization before, one that had even more problems. So they see this one as better. I surely do NOT.

It says Update Not Available. But i DO NOT have 'Update Anyway' option.

I flashed the new Generic_UK ROM which i got here from a mirror download...
because i'm having difficulties downloading from Rapidshare...

Here are the details:

ROM Version: 1.03.931.8
Rom Date: 12/21/08
Radio Version: 1.10.25.18
Protocol Version: 52.56.25.29U
ExtPkg Version: 1.0.13980.11471

Now i'm a bit confuse about the new version...check the link below for some details about the updated version...

Hi,

is it possible to post the X1i_GENERIC_AT_CDF1215-3299_R1AA017 (current version of my phone).
I´LL make a Update to X1i_GENERIC_AT_CDF1215-3299_R1AA009 and if it doesnt work well i like to flash the original one back.

After installing the Generic UK v 2 ROM and doing a full restore with SPB backup (with force ROM update) browsing pictures has become unreliable.

For example, when attempting to add a image taken with the camera to a contact, the phone just freezes. Anybody else experiencing similar problems?

So you upgraded a custom way I assume?
Not SEUS?
And your phone does not have any custom ROM?

why to bother with so small countries as czech/slovak/poland/hungary are?...there is a LOT of Windows Mobile devices that have Czech(Slovak...) language only because of special sw by local czech company (Sunnysoft) ....

but its only my personal view... some other mobile phone producers like LG (KS20) or Samsung (i900 Omnia) came to Czech/Slovak small market already translated, so who knows if SE will decide to invest money into new ROM translations....
