I just installed on my Defy Froyo 2.2 using System Recovery, I rebooted, but I cannot see any icon regarding BaseBandSwitcher, am I doing something wrong? please help me :( thanks!!!!

EDIT: Instead of installing it as an update.zip, I decompressed the .zip and found an .apk , I installed and I was able to use it, is this ok as an installation way or will I miss something important? thanks!

It should work just fine, we made it as an installer in the first place anyway.

It's just one of those "personal tastes" things :D
I mean I'd prefer one apk for each language instead of all languages into only one apk, though I understand that's impractical and harder to update, debug and mantain.

My only reason is that I suppose there will never be enough translations included, and what could remain a "low weight" app might turn into a multi-megabyte apk.
English is enough to understand what this app do and how to do it, and it's not an app you're going to be using everyday, anyways.

If I had a vote, I'd prefer you inverted your time in a different way: standarizing the names of the different basebands... country/region, frequencies, version. I suppose that's up to the original developer, though.

Anyways... whatever you do in the end, thank you for the time you're putting into this. You're helping a lot of people.

Thank you very much for your oppinion. Its never wrong to tell what you think :D

Every language added will take only a few kilobyte, as the whole APK is compressed. So this won't hurt anybody. Having a couple of APKs with different languages would make "the noobs choice" pretty hard. Keep it simple for the mass of people.

If you have a good idea of standarizing, tell me... if you want via PM.

I would be glad if the developer of this app would intigrate all those languages by himself, but right now I really dunno how to contact, and who to contact, as I'm not able to read on the original website

I have a problem, the phone works great, but as soon as I change from T-Mobiles USA BaseBand to China BaseBand, which makes 3G working, I get a lot of noise during a phonecall, sometimes I hear like the call is cutted off, or I can't hear what the other person is saying, it's really annoying, but I haven't found any other way to make 3G to work, is this "normal" when you change bands? thanks!

No I never had something like that with my german providers. Probably there's somebody listening  lil joke. Have a look if you'll find any china rom not listet in the basebandlist, and try to grab its baseband. Another question: You tried all 3 China Basebands?

I'm using CM7 and the phonecalls works but the 3G connection don't work.

I tried all basebands with 850MHZ frequency because i use "Claro".

Try each one, compare and TELL BACK HERE is the deal :D

Fine. "850/1800/2100" ChinaME722 1.10 seems to work for the most part at Moscow Megafon: voice standby with rather minor usage gets as high as 4 days.

"Data on" puts a kibosh on it bigtime tho, 3-4 hours of data daily will make it last about 36 hrs (e.g. "skip one night's charge")

I just wonder what baseband Milestone/XT720 are shipped there, cuz unlike Defy they are available in Russia, and while basebands are unlikely to be compatable, it could at least give an idea.

I have data connection but no voice. My baseband stays EPU93_U_00.59.00 even after reflashing with nordic or us SBF.

I use Brazillian TIM.

After using baseband switcher my system keep saying that baseband is EPU93_U_00.59.00, but the app says the choosen one. What is happening?

Well, it's weird since this happened after I changed the BaseBand to China, it happened to me as well when I flashed an update.zip from Argentina provider which in another thread regarding 3G Fix, that's why I'm assuming it happens everytime I change basebands, I remember I tried the 3 different bands and only one worked for me to get 3G, what I don't know is, supposedly my internet provider uses 850 Mhz band to get 3G but T-Mobile USA which is my default basedand has that band but I don't get anything else other than Edge, any idea? thanks!!

Hi There,
thanks for your translation, but can you please check it again. I always translate some words in google translate. None of your words are recognized. Can you check if the textfile has the right Format (UTF-8, ANSI ...)

Thanks

Please post the txt File in UTF-8 format again, thanks for your work.

And mine?

Swyped by my Defy using CM-7 beta 6 with the XDA premium App

I'm working on your's...
found problems with the serbian language, but I'm not sure. Will finish work today. My Desk is full of work, so I got just a lil time to do this stuff :(

For example: this is what google says when I translate Australia to serbian: Аустралија

Are there different kind of charectersets in the serbian language, caus you send me all in latin letters. Also google has no problems to translate your text to english, so it ain't wrong...I think

what about india ?not listed in the list?...which baseband is correct for india sea15 rom

If you have the Indian Sea 15 ROM installed (no custom rom) then you'll got the right baseband.

I've translated the itfunz basebandswitcher. I wassn't happy with the chinese signs in my program store. Same issue here...this can make my battery drain to fast?...(I mean use other baseband)

Edit: just install the 3.1 version and work

I compared those 2 "new" Argentinian with the old one. They are completly different, as the "old" one is from a milestone 2. So it should be intigrated as a 3rd one :D

Will try today if I can do this, but I can't promise, as I don't own the sources of this tool :(

Edit: It is possible. Next version will include the other Argentinia Baseband and this indian.
    2
I can post them, but they are exactly the as the ones Baseband Switcher install if you select the "Cental Europe" baseband, I don't see the point, I compared the md5sums.

Sqoerk, have you received my PM with the translations ?
