HTC 8x KeyPress sequences
Alright,
Sssooo the following sequences perfrom the following on my T-Mobile HTC 8x All these assume the phone was off first...:
1. POWER and Volume UP with USB plugged in...release at black screen: Puts the Phone in QHUSB_DLOAD mode. I am assuming that this allows you to flash a bricked device/bad bootloader. I put the drivers on my system and QPST/QXDM sees my 8X as a Q/QCP-XXX (Download) QPST does come with a tool called "QPST Software Download", but It won't let me backup or restore anything because the phone is in Download mode. The "software download" tab will let me browse for a phone image and/or bootloader to flash individually.
2. Press Power and hold vol up: Starts booting, then goes to a LIghtening bolt. A Qualcomm MSM device is detected. Regular USB drivers are installed. Windows reports it as a "WinUSB Device".
3. Press Power and hold volume down: An Exclaimation mark shows up. No USB activity/devices detected. Pressing VOLUME UP > VOLUME DOWN > POWER > VOLUME DOWN.at this screen will perform a factory reset on the device. Maybe different sequences at this screen will make the phone do different things?
4. Press Power and camera button: Puts the phone in bootloader mode. Windows detects the device as an HTC windows Mobile device. It goes and fetches ActiveSync off of Windows Update and installs it.
With the phone booted into normal mode, some of the standard dialer codes work. From what I have been reading, the Verizon ones have the most exciting menus, the T-Mobile ones are all the same basic hardware test, and the AT&T ones do nothing. They just accept the codes and no apps open.
If someone can figure out how to toss this damn thing into DM mode, I think I can Dump radios, flash firmware, and possibly enable AWS LTE on it! If anyone else has anything else they would like me to try, let me know.
