Wow good job... you brought up an old thread...

I had been looking for this file, because either Samsung had my previous link removed, or it went a while without being downloaded. Considering it had a ton of downloads, and EVERY other link to it is "Disabled" throughout the internet, I decided to pull out my external hard drive and upload it again. It's a very useful tool and the noobest of noobs can install it and get their Epic's working again!
Whatever... odin/heimdall work just fine... no sugar coding if you don't know how to use them you don't need to be messing with your phone

You sir, sound like you're trying way to freaking hard to be a ****.
Here's a video I did a long time ago,
I know how to use ODIN, but when I flash my cousins phone and she's having issues, and wants to go stock... I simply send people a link to that download and they get their phone back to stock very easily.
I'm actually not. But old threads are old for a reason... they are out dated and should be left to sink to the bottom they are useless. This tool is useless, qbking77 makes videos for a reason... to give a visual for those n00bs that don't understand odin... and he has the most recent ways to unbrick/unroot.

Well when you talk the way you did, it sure sounds like you're trying to be an ass. Also, you can't hear someones tone in text. So I'll leave it at that.
I do NOT currently have an Epic 4G. I have an EVO3D and my wife has an Evo Shift. So yeah, qbking has an Epic and Epic Touch, and makes updated videos on that. Which people need. If I still had an Epic (my step dad needed a phone, his was out of commission, so I sent him ours!) I'd make updated videos on it to.
EB13 is old and obsolete, but it's the EASIEST way to go stock since you just install the EXE, and follow the ON SCREEN directions. Then you get the EC05 update, and then the other updates right after. It's a pain in the butt for you and I, but for someone that is computer illiterate, it's freaking awesome.

Exactly. Odin is better but less user friendly and has no instructions.

Thanks for being the first person to see what I was trying to get to.
BTW, I've seen your name in a lot of qbking's videos! My first time confronting you, but I've seen your name several times!
I've never seen you before, but nice to meet you. I agree with both of your points. Uber is right that the majority of epic xda users should be able to use Odin, however, your father (I think that's what you said) is not an xda user and not a phone nerd like us. There are advantages and disadvantages for both tools. Odin for a hardcore power user and the Samsung tool for someone who is a but less experienced.
And also, calm down a bit Uber, no need to be forum cop. We're all on the same side here. Trying to make everyone's phones better.

No, they're just speaking the truth. If someone "needs" this tool to revert back to stock, then they probably shouldn't be modding their device. You are also acting "high and mighty" with your condemnation of the above posters. If you have a problem with their opinions, then either ignore them or report their post(s).Guy asked a question. Does anyone have the update tool. He didn't ask for opinions on whether or not he should use it, or what's best to use, or whether he should know enough to use odin. Everyone is busy being so high and mighty with their opinions. Everyone who isn't answering the actual question should just post in some other thread.

Now that you vented your frustration/anger.
You could also use TeamViewer or Join.me to do the work for them. I use these tools often at work for customer support.
